Duplicated fields in Event window: Date and time Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Just updated Thunderbird this morning. Lightning now presents duplicated "Date" and "Time" fields for start and end of any given event. NOTE: actually, I accidentally downgraded Thunderbird to version 45.7.0, and after fixed that with the correct version 52.0.1. .
Reminders steal focus == BAD Rated 3 out of 5 stars
I've been using TBird+Lightning for many years now. I have approx 10 calendars and Lightning's focus stealing behaviour every time it updates the reminder pane is a real killer. Time after time I've been typing away only to find that the reminder pane is up on another monitor stealing all the keystrokes. It is really obnoxious behaviour irritating enough that I am about to give up on it. Too bad because otherwise it is a pretty good calendar program.
Hi Philipp I couldn't see any other way to respond to you other than by editing my comment. Thank you for your response!
I believe no program should steal focus unless it has been authorized to do so by the user - in other words this should be a user option at least in about:config if not in the main UI.
And yes every time the calendar server is queried to refresh calendars focus is stolen and the reminder window is refreshed - been like this as long as I can remember.
Also some people may use the reminders window the way you say but I don't see why I should need to dismiss a reminder until I am ready to? I don't want to have to keep snoozing it, I want it on the screen where I can see what I still have to get through. I only snooze something when it will be hours before I can get to it.
I understand this is annoying if it is stealing focus even though no new reminders are added and we should fix that, but please also note that the reminders in the reminder window are meant to be dismissed or snoozed when they pop up. The focus stealing is on purpose, because you also don't want to have that window be hidden at the bottom and miss a reminder.

So much bug...
Behind the times Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Doesn't automatically import Google calendars, unlike every other (modern) Calendar application I can think of. Instead, you have to log into your own Google account and search for the correct settings to cut and paste into the correct settings box in Lightning. That might've been acceptable 10 or 15 years ago, but in this day and age Lightning setup is hopelessly outdated and user-unfriendly. Also, it seems every time Thunderbird is updated, Lightning is broken, and users have to wait for an updated Lightning extension to get calendering functionality back. Again, this is just unacceptable. I just can't recommend this extension for anyone but "technical" users and hobbyists who have the time and inclination to faff around. :-(

problem with arch Rated 5 out of 5 stars
could you please at least give an response: how long will it take until we can use this amazing add-on again? This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.7.8).
If you are using Archlinux, it is up to the Arch maintainers. If you are using stock builds from mozilla.org, it should "just work". Please contact support if that is not the case.
EDIT: Sorry, I missed the title. So then the first part. You can use stock builds as a workaround in the meanwhile.
problem with Arch Linux Distribution Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Arch provides thunderbird w/o builtin lightning. You have to install lightning as plugin
If builtin lightning is available as version 5.4 for thunderbird, why the stand-alone plugin is not available as version 5.4?
no compatible lightning available? Rated 1 out of 5 stars
I update to TB52 and there is no compatible Lightning version?? I cannot believe such a mess!
Please hurry up to support a bundle which is used by millions of people! Otherwise it is useless!

Disabled at TB upgrade time, now where is the option to re-enable ? Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Upgrading TB on a friend's computer from TB 3x, on the last hop I unchecked the Lightning option believing the notification of "Lightning is now embeded in application" refered to a previously installation as a plugin. Now I can't find where to enable it back.
[EDIT] I checked & know I can download it from AMO or Plugins Manager/Catalog. I just wanted to know if there is an enable/disable option in Options/Preferences.
You can enable/disable Lightning in the add-ons manager, which you can find in the tools menu.
next months on the left please Rated 5 out of 5 stars
would be cool to see hte next months on the left ( maybe just 2 months extra, with all the days) just on top of the schedule list. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.7.4).
Not enough nowadays Rated 3 out of 5 stars
If you just need a simple calendar, Lightning is for you.
But in the new age, where computers are needed to keep track of your precious time, Lightning is not more than an oldie.
It can only handle a single calendar from one domain via CalDAV and can't get all calendars from a single domain.
On Android everything is working fine. Now it would be nice if it would also work on the desktop computer.
As this bug exists since 5 years (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=707138), I don't think anything will be solved in the near future. I'm really willing for a donation. But for this, the software has to work as intented.
Endlosschleife Geistertermin Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Lightning does wrork on a fresh installa of ubuntu 16.04.2 Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Hello I like versy much lightning but it doesn't work with the default thunderbird version of ubuntu 16.04.2 : thunderbird 45.7.0
"Le composant binaire nécessaire pour Lightning ne peut pas être chargé, probablement en raison d'une mauvaise combinaison de versions. Lightning 4.7.4 est installé, mais vous devriez utiliser une version de la série 4.7."
I tried to install olders versions of the addon without succes
Please contact the ubuntu packagers for this issue, or make sure you are using Thunderbird from mozilla.org instead of the one provided by Ubuntu.

"Lightning est incompatible avec Thunderbird 45.7.1."
Une mise à jour est-elle prévue ?
Very precious addon but... not synced in beta version Rated 3 out of 5 stars
I'm using a Thunderbird 52.0b2.
A beta version of Lightnings ( 5.4b1 ) is supposed to be available for my version of Thunderbird (see : https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Calendar/Calendar_Versions )
But it's a mystery where to load it...
*The main goal of the Calendar Team is to synchronize the Lightning release cycle with Thunderbird*
A pity : it a little hard to remain beta tester.
The beta versions of Lightning are now included with Thunderbird, so there is no longer a need to upload them to addons.mozilla.org. Also, the beta functionality on addons.mozilla.org is in the process of being removed. If you are still getting older Lightning versions, please try uninstalling Lightning from your profile, on the next startup it should install the one packaged with the distribution. You may also need to re-install Thunderbird Beta (without an uninstall), but the first variant should be enough.
