This brings back a much used function to Australis Firefox - the ability to open the bookmarks sidebar with one click. Have dropped one star off the score purely cos of the size of the extension's icon, it is disproportionately large compared to other buttons. Slim that down and I'll come back and add that missing star to the rating :)This review is for a previous version of the add-on (12.1.1-signed).
Tried saving several form fields, then using this extension to fill them - nothing. Simply didn't work. Options dialogue is in French with no option to switch to English. And even if it DID work, it needs the ability to view/edit saved form data.
So much work needed.
Love this addon and used it for ages, but the new 'feature' of remembering the last selected folder is a NIGHTMARE. I had to go back to an old version cos I was forever getting lost in my bookmarks when wanting to just go up a folder level, yet the addon was sending me elsewhere. It's really counter intuitive, PLEASE add an option to disable it.Oh and a changelog in English (or at least a language less impenetrable than Japanese) would be a great help.EDIT: As the options I mention have now been added, I have restored it's well earned 5 star rating. Thanks to the developers for those additions. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (18.104.22.168-signed).
Sadly following the FF22 update, this formerly great extension no longer works and has been abandoned by the developer. So time to switch to the slightly inferior, but at least functioning, Redirect Cleaner.
This works really well as a replacement for the now abandoned CSLite/CookieSafe, but a couple of tweaks are needed. First, it really needs an easy way to switch between the default action of block or allow all, OR a "Temporarily allow all" as there is no way to do this at present from the statusbar icon (you have to go to FF addons tab and go into the extensions options).
One smaller niggle is the statusbar icon itself, it really needs changing to a simple intuitive red/green, tick/cross icon.
Fix the first issue and it will be the best cookie manager currently maintained for FF. Fix the second as well and spectre of CookieSafe will be long forgotten ;-)
Just wish it worked on Twitter! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (22.214.171.124-signed).
Interesting idea but a couple of major flaws IMO. Firstly, the popup that states what permissions are required is white text on a pale grey background, barely readable and against the white of the Facebook website barely noticeable. Secondly, the status bar icon is just way too big. Does it really need such a big icon and "Standing by" in the status bar the whole time (or at all)?
And to a lesser extent, it seems a bit counter intuitive protecting your private data by providing private data to a third party (the developer)
This is one of my must have extensions and the inclusion of a link to "down for everyone" has just made it even betterThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.3.0).
Thanks Tamas for adapting this to work on regular Firefox as well as mobile, very much appreciate it and for the most part works well. But it doesn't seem to pick up on some clicks, eg the top bar on Blogspot pages (the bar with search/share/report abuse etc). Also it doesn't pick up on clicks on AOL webmail's "Today on AOL" page (the news page you're presented with after signing in).
But all in all a very handy little addon for laptop touchpad users.
Only improvement I would like to see is an option to turn of the IP address in the status bar, I have enough space being taken up there and just seems unnecessary. But other than that a great extension. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.5).
Would love to see this work with regular Firefox though. It may not seem as much of an issue on non mobile devices but as a laptop user I quite often find myself missing smaller links, then wondering why the link isn't loading, only to realise when I tapped the touchpad it moved the cursor a pixel or two away from the link before clicking. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.8).
What utter nonsense, this addon will actually do the opposite of what it claims. Think about it - what happens if you strain your eyes on a regular basis? Over a matter of time your eyesight worsens and you end up wearing glasses. You CAN'T improve your eyesight by regularly straining your eyes (Nintendo were forced to admit as much with their 'eye training' DS game).
If you could don't you thing opticians would recommend 'eye training' instead of glasses!
Why is this called Smaller Tooltip when it makes tooltips bigger?! Giving it 3 stars based on the fact it's useful if you want the link address added to the tooltip, just a strange name and description given what it actually does. Perhaps improve the extension description to state what it's actual main purpose is, ie extending the tooltip info (and therefore increasing the tooltip size) to avoid confusion.
Why not just disable beacon tracking in Facebook options, surely makes far more sense to actually turn it off rather than installing an extension to block it??? (Option is in Settings>Privacy settings>Applications>Settings tab - Tick the "Don't allow..." box under "Beacon Websites")
Using FF 126.96.36.199 and WinXP and this addon does nothing at all, nothing shows up when doing a Google search and going to Tools>Addons and trying to access the extensions options causes the addons window to lock up. Have disabled all other extensions and still no go.
I know FF188.8.131.52 is an old version but if it doesn't work with it might I suggest stating FF3 only to save FF2 users downloading it.
The theme shows, and always has shown, alot of promise but the new icons just aren't right. The theme used to be black with really colourful icons, now the icons are just bog standard style icons. I like the way they expand on hover over BUT the whole effect is ruined by the box around all the icons (back, forward, refresh, bookmarks etc)
Still one to keep an eye on rather than actually use at the moment :\
...a bit hit and miss in practice. In my brief testing of it I often got very few results from it and on a couple of occasions got just an IP address as a result.
Could be good but not quite there yet IMO.
