Vertical Tabs

Found a big bug Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Increases production ten fold, however I found a big bug which is easily reproducible.

Disable the add-on, then re-enable it. (you may need to do it a second time)

The tab bar will change sides of the screen and also add an additional sidebar splitter the other side of the vertical tab bar. This addon is great, however it doesn't unload itself properly when disabling it.

Absolutely great extension. I have one request however:

It would be great to be able to block keywords. For example if I entered "hockey" as a blocked keyword, then all pages with "hockey" in the title would be left out of the history.

I love HistoryBlock and have been using it since mid to early 2009. The one feature I feel it's lacking would be the ability to block keywords. This would be absolutely great. If you don't see how this is useful let me explain possible scenarios.

If you're a Facebook stocker (lol), you could put the person's last name that you're stocking into HistoryBlock. Then since Facebook profile names are in the title then they would be hidden. Another one would be the obvious blocking of adult searches. You could enter the common keywords (eg. porn) you use into HistoryBlock and you wouldn't have to specify any actually websites. I think keyword history blocking would be very useful for many people.

Love the preview when editing the style. This is really awesome.

Steps for awesomeness.
1. Install MyBookmarks - customize to your liking
2. Change homepage to about:mybookmarks
3. Install New Tab Homepage
4. Profit...

Mozilla Labs: Prospector - LessChrome HD

DEVELOPERS, please read. I have an important suggestion. As it stands I won't use this for phishing concerns. But this would be great if the domain of the active tab was always shown along with color coding to show a secure site.

Something like this screenshot:

See the domain is shown always - it just needs color coding or a lock image for https.

A second option I suppose could be second row of text on each tab, the second row being a smaller font and showing the domain with the color coding as well. This is just basic security that would make this addon well worth using!

Vertical Tabs

I have some feature requests if you could add the options to about:config.

1. Text Color and Background Color (hex)
extensions.verticaltabs.textcolor #FFFFFF
extensions.verticaltabs.bgcolor #000000

Then you could edit the Hex color code manually, so you could have white text on a black background or whatever you want. That should be simple to implement and very useful!

2. Enable or Disable Grouping
extensions.verticaltabs.group true

3. Enable or Disable Icon Bar
extensions.verticaltabs.bar true

Maybe add a keyboard shortcut for grouping. I rarely use my mouse (I use keyboard shortcuts) when browsing the internet and prefer the minimal look.

4. Autohide Tabbar Until Mouseover
extensions.verticaltabs.autohide true

Great addon 8.5/10, it just needs to be more customizable like the rest of the browser. Thanks for your consideration in my feature suggestions, and for creating this addon!

(also, thank you for adding the option to put the tabbar on the right!)

Status4ever sucks, please update Fission for Firefox 4!

Personal Titlebar

For those who want to remove the text shadows, it's very easy - sorry I'm not too good at explaining things, but I'll do my best..
Prerequisite: show known file extensions http://maximumpcguides.com/windows-7/show-file-extensions/

How to remove text-shadows:
1. On the Addon page, right click on "Add to Firefox" and select "Save Link As".
2. Save to your Desktop.
3. Make a copy of the file.
4. On the the new copy, rename and change the extension from .xpi to .zip
5. Extract the zip file to your desktop
6. Open folder and go to chrome > content
7. Open browserOverlay.css with wordpad
8. Press CTRL+F then type: shadow
9. Remove the entire section that looks like:
/* force all items use white-color text with text-shadow */
#personal-titlebar tabs tab,
#personal-titlebar toolbarbutton,
#personal-titlebar toolbaritem > *,
#personal-titlebar menubar > menu {
-moz-box-orient: horizontal !important;
text-shadow: 1px 1px 2px #000, 0 0 3px #000, 0 0 3px #000 !important;
color: #eee !important;

10. Save the file.
11. Now rename the original .xpi file to .zip. Don't extract just open it, navigate to the same folder, drag in your just edited browserOverlay.css file and replace.
12. close the folder then rename that .zip back to .xpi
13. uninstall the current version, then open that xpi file with firefox and it will install
note: if the extension is updated your edited version will be overwritten

Iconic Firefox Menu

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very cool, but would be great to select the size of the icon and possibly the background (colorize or transparent).

App Button Color

Absolutely awesome. Exactly what I was looking for. Thank you! :)

Firefox 4? I edited the extension to allow it to install in Firefox 4, but it doesn't create the shortcuts. :(

Need support for Firefox 4!

For those who don't need any extensions working (like Adblock), you can use the standalone application from http://prism.mozillalabs.com/started/

Vertical Tabs

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great addon. I love the way it looks, the way it works, the groups. I was previously a Tree Style Tabs user, but this is much better. It would be great to be able to have the tabs on the right rather than the left though.

One thing that would be cool though: I use the BYM (Blank Your Monitor) extension to make the background of a webpage black and text grey when I'm reading late at night to not strain my eyes on bright white backgrounds. It would be nice to have an invert color button or have it somehow work with BYM.

Also I'm sure some people would like an autohide feature and the ability to have the bar (with the Open New Tab button) at the top of the screen or to remove it altogether in favor of keyboard shortcuts.

Personal Titlebar

down with text-shadows Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Pro: Let me start by saying this Addon is especially great for people who use vertical tabs. It allows you to maximize your vertical space by putting the location bar in the titlebar.

Con: The text-shadows this Addon implements make Firefox unusable for me. The author didn't consider people using theme's other than the default glass theme in Windows 7. With text shadows it makes the text unreadable in the location bar for the theme I am using, and it makes the text outside of the location bar look hideous.

Author: Please make the text-shadows optional. That would make this addon deserve 5 stars.
