This is really a wonderful extension.
There is no way to exclude some bitmaps from processing. Something like a 'do not change these bitmaps' option. Currently we have add extra bitmap images, but not remove. Remove & list options would be great (similar to current add & list).
In some websites, we need to process some of the images but not all (the logo etc. gets processed and make the site look ugly.
Can I change only the foreground colors to change its brightness? To increase speed, can we save the settings (for a site) somehow and use it (I am not sure)? Great addon anyways. Giving 5 star for fast reply. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.1). This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.
This is is quite good even on websites like yutube which has a complicated structure. But it takes a lot of time to render the filters. It would have been better if we could save the settings for a site. Also there is no option to individually apply filters to a webpage. (for example) The text on mozilla addon are not very readable (brightness inversion) and I really like an option to change just the foreground elements. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.1). The addon could have been a good one to have. With bright colored tabs it converts the browser great to look at.
But on the process it also makes the currently selected tab very diffcult to identify. You will have to browse through the name/content to manage tabs, thus destroying any positives.
The developer not even responding to feature requests that are years old.
My verdict: Do not bother. Does more harm than good.
Awesome extension. A real saver of the eyes. But on gmail, the css parsing does not complete (and not able to edit), else would have given five stars! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.14).
For each site and each page, the addon should manually run to colorise the page. Even within the same session, if the page is refreshed we need to run the addon again. Making it virtually useless and just a waste of time. If you are not playing with site colors, please stay away from this addon until it remembers the settings.
On a positive note, its colorisation has better results (especially complicated sites like youtube). It would be better if there were some presets (with different color filters that we can try). Also there could be an option to go back to default state.
Edit: Answer to the developer comments below: I never ordered you to do any of the changes. I said my opinion and added my suggestions. That is what a review is for. And no need to ask MS/Google, there are far better addons here that fit my requirements.
At the same time, I understand the wonderful work addon developers like you are doing. I appreciate and admire you. But that does not mean we have to accept whatever you do or always comment positively. You have ur freedom and I have mine.
