Hide Menubar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is an incredibly useful addon - especially if you have a Netbook and screen real estate is at a premium - and it now works for both Ffox and Tbird (3.x)!

The developer is incredibly responsive to bug reports and feature requests. The Auto-Hide feature now works about as reliably as the Windows Taskbar Auto-Hide - meaning, virtually always works as expected, every now and then kind of forgets which state it is in, but a quick mouse-over of the hotspost fixes that right up.

With the recent changes/fixes - hotspot changed to the Window Title Bar, and the annoyance of the Menu Bar auto hiding itself while you are typing in the Awesome bar (or the Tbird Search box) - this is now one of my favorite and must have extensions.

Thanks yuoo2k!!

Extra Folder Columns

Works great! Missing Account Header Label though Rated 4 out of 5 stars

One thing missing from the old look is the Account column header label - 'Name' is what was there in the old TB2 - or maybe 'Account Name', or just 'Account' - but right now it is blank and looks funny. Fix this and its 5 stars.

@Edward Gelb - actually, I prefer this, otherwise the space to the right of the numbers is wasted.

I'd also like to see support added for showing the space taken up by a parent folder showing the total for all sub-folders - but this was NOT the behavior in Tbird 2, so I don't see this as a regression or bug, just a Feature Request.

Thanks for the extension Joey! Imho, this was a dumb decision by the Devs to remove this code and relegate it to the extension world.

Rewrap Toolbar Button

Edit - never midn, works great with TB3! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Sorry - I posted, then decided it was such a simple thing that maybe it would work if I overrode compatability - and it works great!

Rewrap Toolbar Button

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Simple, but very useful... it would be great if it could be updated for TB3...

Forward

Works only partially with Thunderbird 3 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works great, except for one thing...

The new TB3 *finally* fixed the ability to toggle the format of the forwarded message (plain text or HTML) by holding the SHIFT key down.

I usually like to forward as an attachment, but sometimes I want to forward inline, so I have the default set to 'As attachment'. I also prefer plain text for most emails, so I have my compose format default set to plain text.

With Forward installed, if I hold the SHIFT key down and click the down arrow then 'Inline', it does come up Inline, but does NOT change the format to HTML.

If this can get fixed I'll give 5 stars AND a donation... :)

Ok, follow-up review...

The developer provided a fix for the problem I reported with AutoShow/Hise not working properly when all toolbars are hidden, but I then discovered that there was a conflict with another necessary extension I use - Tree Style Tab. When this extension is also installed and Tabs are displayed on the left side (and probably the right side), if you hide all toolbars, the AutoShow/Hide functionality breaks.

I have reported this to the developer, so hopefully he will be able to find a fix so I can hide the (empty) Navigation toolbar.

gContactSync

Best in category by far Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Finally, a way to sync TBird Contacts with GMail that actually works, and works well.

I really look forward to some of the changes coming down the road, especially the ability to sync different AddressBooks with different GMail Groups in the same GMail account, and to have different settings (direction, permissions, etc) for each. Right now I had to set up multiple gmail accounts to be able to sync multiple AddressBooks, but it is a small price to pay to have reliable syncing...

Thanks Josh for such a great tool!

Hide Menubar

Works perfectly - an absolutely necessary extension! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Last follow-up...

The developer has fixed every problem I have had with this extension very quickly.

It works perfectly now, and has become one of my most important extensions!

Now, if only he would make it compatible with Thunderbird (hint, hint)...

Mozilla Addons says it is compatible with both (but not the developer), but it only works in Firefox. Come one Mozilla! Stop making false claims that some people will blame on the developer!

QuickPageZoom

Zoom Slider pretty please!!! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is awesome, almost exactly what I was looking for...

If you could just add an optional Status bar slider, similar to what Openoffice.org added in 3.x), this would then be perfect!

GDirections

Almost there! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have been u sing this for a long time, and it is extremely handy, so first, thanks Jeff for providing it...

With the recent 3.1.3 release, GDirections finally works with TBird again! Very cool, thanks Jeff!

Now there is just the one minor UI bug (see below), but other than that, gdirections now works as advertised.

UI bug: tabbing from very first 'Text' field doesn't take you to the next field, it takes you to the Location field at the bottom.

Ok, now I give it 5 stars... :)

accountex

Yes - multiple account export is a must Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This is a good start, but I have over 20 accounts set up... exporting them one at a time, then reimporting them would be better than recreating them all from scratch (I haven't tested it yet), but doing them all at once would be *so* much better...

Please?!

Liquid Words

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very nice! I'm not totally tweaked about the usage reporting stuff, but they are up front about it, and it appears to be 'harmless', so no worries for now...

The only thing I'd like to see is support for 'non-active' functionality - meaning, require a right-click on selected text - which would also disable the 'hover' functionality too. Adding this optional behavior *should* make it possible to support Thunderbird too (which I would *really* like to see).

Bottom line: great extension!

Statusbar Clock

Very nice - only one thing missing... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Any chance of adding Thunderbird support as well?

Otherwise, works perfect - great addon!

Print/Print Preview

Simple and effective Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The only thing I'd like to see is the ability to pick which behavior is the default action... otherwise its perfect, and works as advertised.

Tiny Menu

Perfect! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just what I needed to get my top menu exactly like I wanted... and works perfectly in both FFox and TBird.

Thanks!

Vertigo

Toggle button/keyboard shortcut? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Hi,

Love this extension, with one exception... it only makes sense to waste all that space on the left when you are working with lots of tabs, and I don't do this all the time.

I'd love for there to be a way to toggle Vertigo on and off (ie, switch between normal and Vertigo Tab View) with a toolbar button and/or a keyboard shortcut...

Any chance of this happening?

Otherwise, it is a great extension - *especially* for widescreen monitors...

PasswordMaker

Best extension ever Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For anyone who manages lots of online accounts and cares about security, this is hands down the best extension you can ever learn how to use.

It does have a small learning curve, but it is well worth it.

Ops: you can create your own custom character set, or edit one of the existing ones... and if you care about security, you shouldn't share your user account with anyone else anyway... and having an encrypted settings file is high on the Feature Request list.

header scroll extension

Works perfect for me... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Not sure what Gibarian is seeing, but my attachments display fine.

I rated this simple extension a 10 because the issue that it fixes is so basic, that I am very surprised that the devs have left it unfixed for so long.

Anyway, thx Christian for providing the fix - and for the quick TB 2.0 update!!
