And I suggest you check the date my review was posted, over 6 months ago! V23 WAS the current version at the time.
Maybe pay closer attention to your review page, too.
You told me way back then that you'd check it out - I even sent screenshots.
Now using FF 27.0.1, but I uninstalled your extension 6 months ago, so it's irrelevant to me now.
I only previewed this - I didn't install it.
It makes the text in the Bookmarks toolbar blurry. I haven't yet encountered another theme that does this.
You have no website or support link, so i have no choice but to leave this message here. You may remove this comment once read.
I've been using this for a while and it has generally worked pretty well - even after crashes.
But today there was a glitch: I closed FF and restarted my computer, but when I re-opened FF my session was gone. I had 2 windows with nearly 100 tabs, and they were gone, replaced by 1 window with 1 website. No problem I thought, I'll just select the previous session and be back to normal.
The last session saved was 4 days ago, even though I have Session Manager set to save backups every 4 hours, and to save 30 backups.
I'm now looking for a second session add-on (I used to run SM and another one at the same time, too bad TMP won't save sessions simultaneously with SM).
AdrienneA, you're lucky - it hasn't worked for me in FF since last year!
Are you using Windoze? I'm on a Mac, and it's it worthless in FF, but works fine in Safari and another app that lets me open webpages. The scrolling works great in Safari, unfortunately I rarely use Safari. So when I find a page in FF that I want a screenshot of, I must open either Safari or the other app and load the page there.
Even on a new FF profile this extension wouldn't work, even though it was installed fresh - not copied from old profile.
I sent the developer the following message 5 days ago and never received a reply, therefore I'm uninstalling it and giving it 1 star.
"I just installed this extension in Firefox 23 on OS X 10.7.5, and am already having trouble. First thing I wanted to do was add another country, so I clicked the icon and the Customize window opened. If I want to cancel and close the window, I can't - there's no cancel button. Clicking in the page behind the window won't close it, I can only select the About tab or click the Add New Search button. So I added a search and clicked the Save button, but then the OK button is not available. The ONLY way to get that window to close is to finish adding a search, and then the Cancel button can be pressed. But that doesn't cancel the new search, it actually adds it! Here's a screenshot of the country I added, I think it's correct. I found out that even though I clicked the Cancel button instead of the OK button, the search still appeared in the window. However, it doesn't work - Google still searches US .com sites instead of Thailand sites."
I'd rather have this available in the tab menu than in the page context menu, since it's tab-related.
I don't need more junk in my context menu.
You should install Lazarus, then if you lose what you've written, Lazarus can usually restore it. Even if you return to a form a week later, it can restore what you wrote last time, or even times before that.
It has saved me a lot of time and frustration!
I haven't used this extension, so I'm giving 3 stars since I must submit a rating to post this comment.
For a while this add-on worked intermittently, but now it never works - I always get this message: "Unable to capture in Firefox. Snagit cannot capture the scrolling area for this website..."
I can still capture a window, I just can't scroll to capture an area larger than the window, and that's what I need the most. Latest version used is 1.95.
Scrolling works fine in Safari.
I just installed this, and there's no sign of it.
There are no resize indicators and I can't resize any textareas.
It hasn't been updated since 2006, so it appears to be dead. I know this extension isn't needed in FF 4+, but there's still a lot of 3.6+ users.
I don't get it:
This company also makes the TrackerBlock add-on, which claims to "Block cookie tracking by over 200 ad companies."
Since PrivacyChoice Opt-out only blocks "100+ companies," why would I want to use it instead of TrackerBlock???
Any why would they release an add-on that only does HALF of what their other add-on does?
This company ALSO develops the TrackerScan add-on, which doesn't say how many trackers it blocks.
Why not concentrate all that effort into ONE blocker that blocks as many trackers as possible?
To the people who say "THIS ADDON IS NOT NEEDED ANYMORE," you don't know what you're talking about!
When you enable PB, all your open tabs and windows will be CLOSED, and FF will open a new PB window. You'll have no access to any of those closed tabs and windows while in PB mode.
When you disable PB, all your old tabs must be reloaded. This can be very time consuming and frustrating if you're on a slow or poor connection like I am now. For my 3 windows and 61 tabs to reload can take more than 2 minutes, and I may have to reload them several times and turn off/on Airport a few times because it loses connection with the router.
When you use Stealther, you can enable it on the fly, and all your other windows and tabs remain open. This allows you to quickly check out a page or site without leaving tracks, then you click the button again and you're back to normal browsing - no need to reload all your tabs again.
Unfortunately, as other reviewers have noted, it does NOT seem to work on FF 3.6. I've installed it twice, and the button doesn't appear in the Menu Bar's Customize menu, nor does the Preferences button work in the Add-ons window.
The developer should make the distinction between Stealther and Private Browsing more clear in the description, so people won't be confused. But first he need to make it work with the current FF versions - I'm using 3.6.10.
Yes, that's right-I said it: Christmas theme. NOT a "Winter Holiday" theme or "Christian Holiday" theme or "Winter Festival" theme or "Winter Lighting Festival" theme. It's a CHRISTMAS theme-like it or leave it. Hey, I'm not even religious!
This is the only theme I've tried and left installed for more than 5 minutes.
I was sick of looking at the default brushed metal colors. Now the holidays are over, and I hate to remove Tinseltown.
I'm a guy, and I don't find it too feminine or gaudy. I like the look, and have had it installed since before Thanksgiving.
I have one complaint/suggestion: On some windows, the default button is not highlighted, so I'm never sure if hitting the Enter button will perform the correct action. I have to mouse over it to get this theme's stripes to appear on the button, so I end up pushing buttons with the mouse that could have been closed with the keyboard. Wastes a little time and is somewhat annoying.
This occurs on small widows like the "Save Bookmark" dialog box, and the "Confirm Close" box, when attempting to close Firefox with multiple tabs open. Also when opening Firefox and the Session Restore box pops up.
I have the OpenBook and Tab Mix Plus extensions installed, so they could be the problem. TwisterMc may not have written Tinseltown to be fully compatible with these extensions.
I've been using SG for a month or more, and have been satisfied with its performance, until a few minutes ago.
I repeatedly tried to take a screenshot of a Flash image, but ScreenGrab always failed and I had to use another app. which captured the image.
I needed to "borrow" the watch image on this page (http://www.aldoshoes.com/eng/storeSection/redirect.cfm?sectionID=b2c/style/productDetails.cfm&itemID=66464940&&var=d&ckey=CA&colorid=97) to post in an ad for a watch I'm selling. I consider this fair use since we bought the watch, so don't give me any crap about copyright infringement!
Except for some bugs, this is a great extension, and the ability to capture ENTIRE web pages is terrific!
by the preview image on the main page. The browser colors are NOT brown & gold, they are BLACK & gold, which makes the browser MUCH darker than the preview. Too dark for me, I had to change themes.
Also, the developer says "This theme will run on Firefox 2 but doesn't show the Tab Close Button."
Well, I'm running FF 2 with the Tab mix Plus extension, and all of my tabs have a close button, but this theme causes the close button to cover up half of the icon on each tab.
And the "back" button, which is just to the right of my address bar, is funky. Can't tell where the address b ar stops and the button begins. The addresses seem to run into the button.
The Preferences window IS brown & gold like the preview, and looks nice.
This theme is young and needs more work. I'll try it again if the colors are corrected and other issues fixed. There's enough dark themes available; I wanted something lighter.
