I've tried to find a way of contacting the developer, but have had no luck.
It'd be great to get optiosn to :
1) set minimum item width
2) show only x most recent downloads
This way when downloading lots of things, after x downloads, the items fall off the download bar, instead of wrapping, so prevent the toolbar growing in size using up all the screen.
Otherwise this addon is incredible, and far prefer it to the horrible new download panel thing Mozilla are doing.
I love that it's better than Firefox 13 too, with the color and the padlock with the favicon!
My only suggestion is options, as I'd actually rather have the new document icon for the newtab (not that It's the most important thing)
This is fantastic for FF14. Thank you.
Any chance you can do favicons instead of these stupid globes and padlock icons too?
Youtube are randomly displaying their beta html4 player to users, and there is no way to opt out without tricking youtube by editing your useragent. This script does not support HTML4. Hence why it only works sometimes. This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.
When Peers is enabled browser.urlbar.autoFill ceases to work. Even with the autocomplete option ticked in Peers.
With Peers disabled sutocomplete works perfectly.
Please add a support email so bugs don't have to be given via reviews.
Edit: found their email: peersbros at gmail dot com
I'll email to request a fix
Edit: Not getting any responses from them.
Over a long period of use..I can't really see the point of this. It's no different to the default history feature of firefox.
The search is slow. There's no filtering other than date (which exists in history search).
and after removing the addon, the ctrl+shift+m shortcut remains despite there being nothing to open.
I've used NewTabUrl addon for a long time, which you can get to duplicate the tab OR open the homepage. The problem with that is if you set it to duplicate tabs, and you want a new tab with your homepage, you have to wait for the duplicated tab to load all the media etc from the current tab each time before you can load the homepage.
Now, with 'Duplicate in Tab Context Menu' I can have both a duplicate tab feature, and the new page that loads my homepage via NewTabUrl.
Also, I like the addon always opening duplicate tabs in the background, there's no point in switching to a duplicate of a tab as it's the same tab!
Although I would like the ability to disable the shift+d shortcut, If I'm typing and am not in the correct box all hell breaks loose if I start typing in capitals.
Edit: Thanks for disabling shortcut. Great user support!
Edit 2: Thanks for bringing customizable shortcuts and background/foreground tab loading. This addon is truly great now!
Why do people still use this? You can do most of this with gmail already. The message count icon is in gmail labs.
The nested labels is already possible in gmail using / forward slash to nest the labels.
I've known of this addon for years, but never tried it as I like the download manager and didn't want to replace it with cluttering download bars taking up all the screen space.
However, I had no idea how customizable it was. Firstly it doesn't interfere with the download manager if you don't want it to. Also it automatically clears the screen of download blocks for jpgs, png and gif to keep the screen clear for the more important files you haven't had a chance to use before the download. I also added .torrent to the auto-clear filetypes as I put them into a watch folder.
The ui was a big lackluster for me, but I changed the progress bars to lime green, and with the gradient they look great.
There is a bug however, the download bar hides the url tooltip hover link. So when hovering over a link, or clicking a link, the tooltip is underneath the download bar and so you cannot see the address. This is annoying and also potentially a security risk. You must clear the downloads before hovering/clicking links to see the tooltip.
Peers Instant Search is more pleasant to use, with better awesomebar integration. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.10.20110930).
I don't understand. You don't need an addon for this?
You just go to View>Toolbars>Tabs On Top
Useful, but the addressbar 'r' search doesn't work for me, and the statusbar icon won't go away no matter how many times I drag it out of the addonbar. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (21). This user has other reviews of this add-on.
Love the addon, though you're still using the statusbar despite it being replaced with the addon-bar in Firefox4.
As you have a toolbar button I dragged it into the addon-bar, though you should consider doing this programatically:
This link also shows you how to set the manifest to show the statusbar version to firefox <3.6 users, and the addonbar button to modern firefox users.
Great addon, although I'm confused.
You state in 0.8.6 you "Changed statusbarpanel style."
However, you're still using the status-bar instead of the addon-bar which was changed as far back as Firefox4.
Trying to move the toolbar buttons into the addon-bar and disable the statusbar button from the preferences, the lists show as empty despite proxies being added to the Manage Proxies screen.
This is perfect! I only just installed Minimize-addon-bar but am in love with it, the appearance of firefox is much better now, and feels less cluttered than if I used the standard addonbar.
My only annoyance is that old addons that havent been updated to work with the addonbar and still expect the statusbar dont show up in this addon. PermitCookies/LikeThePage etc...
Oh, and the addon covering the bottom of the scrollbar is a shame, but not the end of the world. Would be nice if could be fixed.
Great addon, and once 1.0.3 hits it'll be even better. Having proper toolbar & addon-bar support means it even works with Minimize Addon-Bar.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.2). This user has 2 previous reviews of this add-on.
The digg and submit buttons in the address bar no longer work.
This was the only thing keeping me using digg, as I use reddit primarily. The convenience of digging and submitting with one click from the address bar kept me submitting and digging, but now it doesn't work, what's the point?
@nonhocapito CustomizeGoogle was abandoned in 2008. OptimizeGoogle was a fork to continue the project.
Unfortunately now progress on OptimizeGoogle has been halted, so they are looking for new developers.
However, OptimizeGoogle was updated as recently as November 2010 so everyone using this addon should switch to that anyway.
Please update for FF7. It has no http:// and your addon brings the prefix back, and removing the prefix in the addon options is really buggy. This user has 3 previous reviews of this add-on.
"does not seem to do anything. it is a bit suspicious how the program should stil be able to do anything when it was never updatet since the initial release in late 2007."
This is spot on.
