Pick & Save Images

Hard to handle Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I’m spending a lot of time to browse and save images, so I tested and use a lot of FF extensions of this kind.
First impression: the comparison table lacks two columns "easy to use " and "fast to learn". And for these columns, "Pick and Save Images" is bad.

Example: I want to save all original images in a Blogger page. With "Save Images", I need 2 clicks. With "Pick and save" I have to filter unwanted images, select the ones I want and I have the feeling I loose time.
Example: I did not succeed to save images opened in different tabs. And I don’t understand why.

It seems to be a very complete and powerful tool… for people having some time to learn how it works.
The feature I like is the ability to batch rename images before saving.

Update after the answer of the developer:
- I did mention the batch renaming utility
- I know I have to middle-click to have access to the multitab feature but for some reason no thumbnails are showing even if the tabs are "image only"
- I did not make a full review of the extension because it's not the purpose of this review (people giving 5 stars are not making a full review and you are not shocked)
- This review is supposed to help people to choose wich tool is the best relative to their need and knowledge. This is a complex tool.

Example: let's try to download the original images from this page http://kidpix.livejournal.com/1931974.html
With "Save Images", you see immediately there is no "direct to image link". You choose "all links" and you see that the the links you are interested in contains "orig" in the URL. A handy field filters the links and a click "open all selected link in a tab" + a click "save all images from this tab" and it’s done. All these actions are pretty intuitive and logical.

"Pick and save" with basic filters shows images but an intermediate size called XXL. If you don't know these are not the original files, you are fooled. After some searches, I took a look at "Advanced" options and found "target to be checked" and I checked "all". And I got my images. Not intuitive at all.

A last point: I don't say it's a bad extension. It's the most powerful extension of it's kind and I may give it 4 stars in the future but I cannot give it 5 stars as a "basic" user won't use such a tool.

A suggestion: give the ability to save an actual profile under another name because you need to create another profile after making changes, not before.

Tumblr Post

Best Tumblr sharing extension Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks for the update ! I was so sad it did not work in last FF versions.
And don't take care about dumb people insulting you in the reviews. I appreciate that you share your work and understand if you cannot find time to fix this kind of things.

It's All Text!

Excellent Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A great tool if you need some external program to type text/code. I use it to write my post for Wordpress in Markdown language with Mardown Edit.
But it does not seem to work everywhere - in vBulletin forums by example. Too bad.

dragdropupload

Seems to work again in FF 40 Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I loved this extension but it was broken with latest FF versions. I took a look today and saw the extension was considered compatible FF 40. Made a test and it works. I will make some more tests but it looks like a good surprise.

But the javascript error is still here - closing the first tab. Too bad.

Picture Zoom Plus(+)

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

As some others I had the problem with zoomed image blocking all the windows - for each tab. And impossible to get rid of if without close Firefox. Too bad, when it works it's a nice extension.

Très intéressant, notamment au niveau médias. Et des résultats pas mal pertinents par rapport à d'autres concurrents. À suivre.

Image Picker

Très efficace Rated 4 out of 5 stars

A very useful plugin for saving quickly and easily all images from one page. If you need something more complete, I suggest Save Images plugin (not only saving functions but opening images too).

Save Images

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The most complete plugin for saving images in Firefox. I love the "open all links to image in this page" function. Filters are great too.
There is a light alternative of this plugin: Pick Images (with thumbnails but not so much options). I would love to see the thumbnails view in Save Images.
