Malware Rated 1 out of 5 stars
OK this is annoying.
This extension installed itself without my knowledge on my Firefox browser (on Macintosh OSX, mind you!) and although I removed it I'm wondering whether it's truly gone.
The way the extension installed itself and the way it is advertised are both highly suspicious to say the least.
Let me repeat: one day I was updating my extensions and discovered that Browserprotect was suddenly just THERE for no apparent reason.
I DID NOT manually install it and I don't know how long I had it in my browser or how it wormed its way in. I'm hoping they didn't get any sensitive information - I've had to change all my passwords just in case.
I don't care what their advertising blurb says. As far as I'm concerned, software that installs itself without my knowledge or permission is malware or spyware, so I got rid of it as soon as I found it.
Gets one-star because 1) there isn't a zero rating and 2) because of all of the above mentioned reasons.
I've reported the situation to Mozilla support.
Simple and works well Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Great. Allows you to read books / EPUB files on your browser, no spyware, no hassle, simple and to the point.
IMO the only things missing are 1) night time reading mode; 2) page number estimate / display and 3) conversion to PDF tool.
Apart from that, the good points: fast and stable; crossplatform; simple GUI and options for changing text size, and has a good library management tool.
