Needs work Rated 2 out of 5 stars
I'm reducing the stars to 2 because it's RIDICULOUS at this point and late date that it's not working on "Rich Text Editors". I have a BOOKMARKLET that can grab the selected text, in an RTE or anywhere, and look up the word in an online dictionary. If I can do that, this extension should be able to work on those values, too. I don't know why it's not being updated, but it really makes it irritating to use, because I never know when it is going to give me the RTE error, and more and more things are using RTEs.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.1-signed.1-signed). Works fairly well Rated 3 out of 5 stars
There were multiple instances where, when I clicked in the URL box, it showed a previous address, but otherwise showed the real address. A page refresh corrected that.
And there seems to sometimes be an issue when you are editing the URL and it does some wacky stuff, like it doesn't like you to edit it. So that needs to be corrected.
I would like an option to not make the query items after the ? be "breadcrumbs". One whole breadcrumb would be okay, or just plain text.
Works Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Seems to work fine in Pale Moon 27.1.0 (32-bit). (including remembering all tabs)
Had to switch from Restartless Restart 9.1-signed.1-signed by Erik Vold because it quit working.
Not available for Firefox 24.9 (Palemoon 26.2.2) Rated 3 out of 5 stars
UPDATE: The author updated the extension (Thank You), but the minimum version is set to 38.0a1 and the maximum version is set to 43.0, so it still won't work in Pale Moon. (I might try messing with it to see if I can get it to work -- setting the minimax versions is something of an art form -- if I'm lucky, I can just change them and it will work)
This extension is GREATLY needed now because sites are starting to implement 'no inline script' policies, which disables Bookmarklets.
I don't suppose the creator would tell us what the status is and future plans? (if you look at his blog, it looks like this extension was created as part of his Masters or Doctoral Thesis or something like that)
Does ANYONE know of a decent work-around??
The browser developers haven't 'fixed' this issue for YEARS, and instead of fixing it, they 'recently' changed the specifications to 'allow' them to not fix it. (that's one way to do it)
Works in Pale Moon 26.2.2 (mostly) Rated 4 out of 5 stars
It doesn't work on YouTube comments, Facebook posts and comments, or Yahoo discussion forum posts, which is IRRITATING. I would switch to a better product, if they supported those sites, but I don't know of any. This user has a previous review of this add-on.
Needs some sound effects Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I (mostly) only use the "save image under cursor" attached to the F2 function key.
What it really needs is some sound, so I don't have to keep looking up and seeing whether it saved the image or got an error, etc. Just some nice, soft "boomps".
Because if I don't pay attention, it will give me an "error message" and not save the image, and I didn't realize that happened. They should probably be optional, turn on and off, and maybe selectable sounds.
Other than that, it seems to work very well in Pale Moon 25.8.1. ("old style" Firefox-like browser)
Doesn't work in Pale Moon? Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I don't think it works in the Pale Moon browser v25.7. ("Old Firefox")This review is for a previous version of the add-on (184.108.40.206-signed).
Cool, but too complex Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I understand that the complexity is needed, but I don't even know where to start. I just wanted to add 'unsafe-inline' to all CSP script-src headers so that I could use Bookmarklets. Since this is a much-needed thing, it would be nice if it was included in the extension as an "optional" default. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.01.1-signed.1-signed).
Better than nothing Rated 3 out of 5 stars
It's VERY irritating that it can't do "Rich Text Field" values. Those are very often the ones I use and need the feature for. If he can get it to work on those and not have it report the irritating error, it will be 5 stars.
(unfortunately, for some stupid reason, making it (or anything, really) work on content editable DIVs is "ridiculously difficult")
Fails on YouTube Rated 3 out of 5 stars
For Firefox 31. Tried to send them a contact message on their website about it failing on YT and it kept giving me an error message. Maybe time to try an alternative extension.
Doesn't work Rated 1 out of 5 stars
Because I am using the Scribblies Plain theme??
I don't think I saw any difference at all with any icons changing size.
The Home icon (and others) in the upper menu bar is big.
The New Window, Back, and Forward icons in whatever bar that is called are still big.

Good for Firefox 29 Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Seems to work well. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2014.05.03.06.1-signed).
Pretty severe issues that will not be corrected Rated 1 out of 5 stars
There are some pretty severe issues with its operation that causes it to not work correctly with at least the Image Toolbar extension.
(and I'm guessing other extensions because of what it's doing -- as long as other extensions aren't using the middle-click for something, there probably won't be a problem)
The author doesn't want to mess with it and fix it.
Look for a fix on the Mozillazine forums in the Image Toolbar thread. (if I can fix it)
Not so good anymore Rated 2 out of 5 stars
These days, with "modern" websites, there are too many images that it doesn't recognize. Mostly CSS-based images, but also "hidden" images created on-the-fly by slide show and other types of pages.
Also, it is now HIGHLY annoying in the latest version(s) that it doesn't allow renaming of images with the same name like it used to. (filename collision) That killed the add on, and was one of the best features. It used to be a really good extension before that functionality was removed.
Other extensions support the filename renaming feature, as all good add-ons should, like DownThemAll!, DownloadHelper, and others, including some extensions that perform similar functionality to Image Toolbar.
