Organize Search Engines

broken Rated 2 out of 5 stars

this extension seems to be broken and unmaintained for some time (last updated in 2011)

sometimes search engine properties get reset and changes are not always saved

Menu Wizard

OUTSTANDING Rated 5 out of 5 stars

excellent extension!
so far i have not noticed any conflicts with other extensions - much appreciated, especially since similar add-ons are all either broken/unmaintained or limited in features

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.12.1-signed).

HTTP UserAgent cleaner

best modify header extension for casual browsing! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

the name might not offer the best description of what this ext. does, but the dev is Russian and maybe that's why :)

for anyone looking for added privacy, this is a far better solution to any of the user-agent spoofers out there as it offers fairly granular control of various header information that is used for fingerprinting (way by which web sited uniquely identify your browser), as well as the ability to tighten security a bit.

it is not quite a set-it-and-forget-it extension depending on how you use it, but it certainly requires far less maintenance than NoScript (not that this is a replacement for NS!).

options i'd like to see in future versions...

* ability to completely disable the extension on a per-site basis (white-list)
* detailed, pop-up descriptions for each option
* middle-click toolbar icon to disable extension
* right-click icon to add site to white-list
* option to allow, block, randomize location (per-site, same as the other options)

very nice though - i hope the dev continues to support it

Bookmarks menu

very nice! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

works well, simple
i might suggest adding a separator under the recent/most visited folders

i would also like to see someone do this using the new start panel since v29 - would be nice to add bookmarks (bookmark toolbar items at least) to the start panel instead of having another toolbar button

Scroll Up Folder

and just when i thought my life was over... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

FINALLY found a suitable replacement for the smart text/smart location extension that actually works (i think i've tried them all), and works well, and doesn't break other extensions!

this is the ONLY extension that, like smart location, handles url parameters and sub-domains properly (unlike All About Location Bar and others), allowing you to go from "" to "" and "" to ""

and you don't have to click buttons to do it, like Uppity, Navigate Up, Dir Up, etc..

Bookmarks UI

needs work Rated 2 out of 5 stars

it doesn't display some icons, such as for FireFTP, cPanel, NewsFox, etc - i don;t know how it displays icons, but it is obviously different than native FF

would be nice to set a background color

it should auto-set the height and columns (based on position after drag/drop)

support more than just bookmark toolbar menu items

drag and drop results in opening a bookmark and simply doesn't work well because the ext insists on keeping the number of items each column even

Personal Menu (Personal Firefox Button)

losing its appeal Rated 3 out of 5 stars

since ff v29, it is apparently no longer possible to display bookmarks (such as bookmark toolbar items) in the menu, thus you cannot achieve the results as pictured in the description.

it would be great if the ability to add bookmarks to the menu was added, though this has been mentioned in the support forum

S3.Google Translator

very nice add-on, just needs a little polish Rated 4 out of 5 stars

i like the way it works for the most part - in-line translation is working well so far

would be better if, when the translate window is open (when selected text is translated), any text highlighted would automatically be translated

FYI, when plugin.state.flash is set to 1 (always ask), it seems to break this ext. (win 7 ff 28)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.01.1-signed).

Personal Menu (Personal Firefox Button)

bookmark toolbar items Rated 3 out of 5 stars

as per the developer comments in the forum...
"Bookmarks toolbar items is not supported in FX 29+."

it would be nice if they were, or another method of adding bookmark icons to the menu were implemented - this is one of my most used features of the menu

works ok, but doesn't handle domains properly Rated 4 out of 5 stars

you can't click to remove a sub-domain, so you can't go from "" to ""

smart location was the best, but it's no longer maintained

All About Location Bar

Needs a little bit of work Rated 3 out of 5 stars

i like the add-on, but the truncate and go logic applies to domains as well as the rest of the url - this makes it impossible to go from to, because everything after sub. is removed

SearchBox Sync

broken - unmaintained Rated 2 out of 5 stars

does not save custom search settings after browser restart

this is the same dev that has SearchWP extension and he seems rather unresponsive regarding fixing problems, which is a shame since both are highly useful when combined together

would be nice to see a SINGLE extension that does both

Adblock Edge

seems to work well, needs a little polish Rated 4 out of 5 stars

no bug reports here - i know - but i'm doing so anyway as it is totally inconvenient to register for some site which i will likely never use again EVERY time i find a bug in an ext. - i wish the extension devs and mozilla worked together to make it more easy for users to file bug reports here!

ABE seems to conflict with the NoScript toolbar icon context menu in that it can cause about 1/2 of the menu items to not display - something i ran into a long time ago with ABP i think.

if the malware domains list is supposed to block access to those sites, then it appears something is very wrong, as it does not do so (and that subscription is the 1st in the chain)

ff 28

Copy All Links

Works well - needs polish :) Rated 4 out of 5 stars

would suggest placing the context menu in the proper place, below 'copy link location'

would also be nice to be able to draw a rectangular selection like Snap Links Plus does

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1-signed).

Snap Links Plus

like it, but it needs work Rated 4 out of 5 stars

it can cause quite a long delay when r-clicking (without moving cursor) until context menu appears, but apparently only on some sites

wow - v5 is quite a piece of work! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

just a couple little things i don't like...

i think the url in the address bar should be used for the various queries, rather than the url of the loaded page - i think that would be quite useful in a number of cases - along with that, the icon would need to be visible at all times so one could enter an address in a blank tab and preform a query

the flag icons still bug me a bit - the standard icons in the address bar are all monochrome (on win at least) and i think it would be good to have an option of monochrome flags

with as many services as there are, and perhaps more to come, i think it's time to add the ability to better organize them with folders and separators

consider adding ability to use '\n' or '\r\n' or something that will be converted to a return/line feed - useful for "copystring:" operations

great add-on other than those minor niggles :)

YouTube Center

needs work Rated 3 out of 5 stars

YTC is one of the best scripts out there for YT as far as its feature set, but it hasn't worked right for me in quite a while (at least the last several versions)

issue 1: whenever i load a video on youtube, i have to click the play button twice before it plays - the 1st time a screen cap loads and it starts buffering, but in about a second it's black again and the play button has to be clicked again

issue 2: i can NOT get a youtube page to load with the video resolution at HD/720 - it always loads at low res and then if i go full-screen, the video stops and re-bufferes as it changes to hi-res, then continues to play

i reported #1 on github, but not #2 - sorry - lazy :)

2.1.0 on FF 26.x/27.x and win 7

works-a-treat! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

thanks for restoring what never should have been removed in the first place :)

works fine on 27, which contains the gif animation bug
