I've been in IT for 20+ years, and I've used LastPass for what seems like forever. I've recommended it to friends, relatives, coworkers, students, you name it.
Unfortunately, now that Version 3 has been released, I will be looking for a new password manager.
Version 3 is plain junk. It must have been released with absolutely zero Quality Assurance testing. The new UI is awful, daily-use functions have been moved so that they require extra clicks, the new version breaks website logins, and is downright buggy.
I was seriously thinking about purchasing the premium version so I could have LP on my Droid. Now I'm glad I procrastinated on that purchase!
For LP users on Firefox, you can still use the old version, but you have to disable auto-updates for all Firefox plugins. Then uninstall LP 3.0, D/L the old LP (the Firefox add-ons page still has version 2.0).
Since Google refuses to give users the choice to disable auto-updates for add-ons, Chrome users are stuck with LP 3.0. Or ditch Chrome and use Firefox instead.
In TB 17 in 64bit Linux, the add-on correctly blanks out the From account. But as soon as you start typing in the body of the message, the focus changes to the From field, and a "random" account appears. Maybe it's using type-ahead because the focus changed, but that's not how I expected the add-on to work. Oh well, at least the From account is blank, which catches my eye enough to cause me to select the right account.
I just had a need to recover text from a form using Lazarus. I entered my password, right-clicked again, and every entry says "Saved X minutes ago." Say what? Now I have to click on each one, just to find out if it might be the entry I'm looking for? That makes it so difficult to find the entry that I'm looking for that the password option is useless.
Doesn't work in FF16 on Linux. Nothing happens when I highlight text, and the toolbar icon only has a "See your highlights" function and a color chooser.
This add-on used to work great. Now, in both FF 14 and FF 15, the pop-up window of tab images does not appear, and ctrl-tab jumps to the next open tab - there is no MRU behavior.
@Amanda, it sounds like you need a session-saver like Session Manager. They let you save and restore your entire set of tabs.
This tool would help you find that tab that you closed yesterday. It definitely needs HTML formatting, or anything else that is easier to use than plain text.
I needed to find some tabs that I had used recently, but SMT didn't save anything. Why? Because the folder/directory that it pointed to didn't exist. Really? It just dies silently? Come on! Create the damn folder, if it doesn't exist.
I don't see a way to submit a bug report, so I'm doing it here.
On Kubuntu (Linux) 11.04 in Firefox 7, clicking the Restart icon sometimes restarts the entire X server.
If It's All Text dies with an "exited with a status of 1" error in .deb-based flavors of Linux like Ubuntu, here's how to fix that error.
To see if this will fix your error, run this command:
If you get output like "14 profiles are in enforce mode" then these instructions will work for you - continue with the following steps.
Look in the /etc/apparmor.d/ folder for a file called (or starts with) usr.bin.firefox.
Edit that file with your favorite editor using superuser priveleges. You'll need to add a line that points to the editor that you configured It's All Text to use. In my case, that's kate, and the path to kate's binary is /usr/bin/kate.
Using the above path, add one or two lines into the middle of usr.bin.firefox, like this:
# I added this on 2/17/2012 to allow firefox access to the kate binary for the It's All Text addin
The line that starts with # is just a comment. The /usr/bin/kate portion must point to your editor. The ixr portion gives Firefox permission to run your editor. The comma at the end of the line is required.
To make this change be seen by Firefox, either restart your computer, or run this command:
sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor restart
I'm not sure if this bug is in VT 0.8 or in BarTab Lite 1.2.
With those two addons installed, Firefox 7.0.1 has a bug when using TabRenamizer. When FF first opens, my hundreds of tabs look normal. As soon as I close any single tab, all of my tabs change so that the favicon is gone, and every tab title changes to the URL for that tab. After disabling TabRenamizer, the problem went away.
