It does what it says, and it does it well. Search for your location on the map, refine the result (using the 'switch to select' button -- the marker with the little green arrow), and set the accuracy. Done! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6).
If you want your highlights on web pages (from the big bad Internet) to be kept, use the Wired-Marker extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6219
I've been using Weave ever since version 0.1, and it’s come a long way since then. I was very happy with version 0.5.1: fairly speedy, didn’t lock up my Firefox during sync (as opposed to Xmarks and previous versions of Weave), and a clear UI, which made it usable even on the slow and flaky connection at work.
Version 0.6, however, it unusable for me. The UI is non-standard (which needn't be a problem), but it's not even fully functional! I get no indication whatsoever that anything is happening when I click the 'sign in' button. I can't login anymore. I can't verify the setting to automatically sign in on startup anymore.
I want back to the previous version!
It's a great extension for keeping notes associated with specific messages -- especially the user interface is very convivial: post-it notes which can be placed anywhere on the screen (and which reappear anytime that same message is selected).
Only thing I'd like is that it would show somehow when a note has got the focus.
