My Reviews

Feedly - Beyond Google Reader

Interesting RSS reader Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Feedly is very interesting RSS reader. Although one need to install an addon it's entirely online service with fast and efficient servers.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (10.2.1-signed).

Grooveshark Remote Control

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Finally someone made such extensions. Thanks a lot, so far works mostly as it should. Sometimes it displays "Not playing" but the progress bar moves. BTW how about clickable progress bar?

Undo Tab Operations

New and better Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It's very promising add-on. Have similar possibilities as Undo Closed Tabs Button but extends to more actions. Good work!! Keep on updating ;-)

Pocket

Was perfect, now is almost perfect Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Hello! I can see that many people say that new v2.0 is terrible and awful. IMHO it's not so bad. New interface is clean and easy to use. Different reading list is good way to separate saved pages into some categories.

But creators of Read It Later do one mistake: they forced new features on us - users - without possibility to choose between old features and new ones. Sync is perfect for someone that is not using Xmarks. I would like to use both RIL sync and saving in FF bookmarks. It gives us more possibilities. RIL was published just too early, it has some bugs (messed order of my saved bookmarks) and lacks features we are used to.

Anyway, still waiting for v2.x for new features!

Fancy Numbered Tabs

Cleaver but numbers only 1-8 tabs Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I'm glad You have updated this small but fancy add-on. Currently I'm using v1.3 which works just great with FF v3.5.2 + default Strata + Personas. Now with numbers it's much easily for me to locate certain tabs when I'm doing search with Find In All Tabs extension. I love the cleaver idea for place of numbers. All other "counting" extension stretches name of tabs or show only amount of opened tabs/windows. The only issue is that it numbers tabs only from 1 to 8. If there are more tabs all other tabs have simple "x" button. Thanks again for Your effort!!

Forex Currency Converter

Since v1.5 it's IMHO best currency converter Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I was waiting for the several features to add, and today in the v1.5 there are enable/disabled on startup and in anytime without the need of reloading the webpage. And there is even an option to use statusbar icon!! IMHO it's most convenient currency converter for Firefox.

Unified Search

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very useful extensions! It combines features provided by several other extensions (ie. Googlepedia, Wolfram Alpha Google) with easy to use interface (switching between search provider by 1 click). Although it's in early development stage it is stable and working good already!

New Tab King

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Currently one of the best new-tab extensions. It is better to use versions over 2.x cause it has new options to configure. Love it for displaying witch bookmarks I used the most.

Pixlr Grabber

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Wonderful extension. It connects creating screenshots from Firefox with Pixlr! I'm creating dozens of photos with "help" for forums. For example: someone can't find an option on Gmail. With Pixlr FF extension, I'm taking photo of selection, adding and simple arrow or rectangle around important part of the site and then send it to Picasa! That's it! It's so simple.

LinkExtend - Safety, KidSafe, Site Tools

Useful & working! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

In my case LinkExtened took the place of several others extensions. It's really helpful. Just try it!

Wolfram Alpha Google

Great, but buggy! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great idea to connect Google with Wolfram ;-) I know that this is only beta version of this extensions so we couldn't expect that it will work for 100%. Look into the screenshot [1] and [2]. I have LinkExtend which gave me thumbnails and additional site info like those icons on the right. Also I have Xmarks which adds big blue icon with additional info about sites. Long titles and descriptions from Google search result are quite well "wrapped". But Xmarks icon is floating over Wolfram search result. Also look on the bottom of Wolfram result. It is cut. Noticed that on the right of Wolfram result there is over 100px of unused space. Can You float Wolfram to the right? I was inspecting this with Firebug but haven't found any margin/padding to the right side, so I can't help... On [2] photo there is combination WAG with Googlepedia extension. WAG result sometimes are above and sometimes below Wiki result, but always WAG is "stretching" Google result.

BTW: If I could suggest something, I would like to have a different behavior of statusbar icon. Let's say that I would be able to disable automatically added Wolfram search result. Instead WAG extension will check query in the background and change icon from statusbar. If anything will be found, I just press this icon and Wolfram search will show on my demand.

Desktop

Suprising! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

When I saw this extension my first thought was: "How lame... another 'new-tab-tool'...". I have installed it just to feed my curiosity and then... WOW!! It behaves like a real desktop but instead of icons I can place on FF window images with links to my favorite sites and also create subfolders! That's really promising!! Cause it is the first release (although a "big" version number) then I'm going to wait for new version to see if it will be improved with new features. Looking forward for new versions!! :-D

Bookmark All

Something that I was looking for! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I was looking exactly for something like that!! I'm using Xmarks so all of those session savers doesn't fit me - they weren't synchronized by Xmarks. Now if I want to return later to all current site on other computer it's not a problem :-D

I would like to chose the folder in which subfolders will be created, cause I have my own "Temp" folder on bookmark toolbar. So some more settings would be appreciate! Everything else is just great! :-D

LastPass Password Manager

Kietna Qu'Tak Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I was testing several password managers but there was always something that I missed. LastPass offers quite nice and user friendly Firefox interface and also what is important for me, managing and viewing passwords via webinterface without need to install anything. Great!!

PDFescape Extension

Promising :-D Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It's a really promising extension. A good alternative to other online PDF services. Although I wasn't able to edit text of PDFs (hope it will be able to do so in the future - or maybe I didn't now how to?) it's great. The only thing that I miss are possibilities of opening the PDF file. Currently when PDFescape is active all PDFs are opened online. There is no option to open it with standard PDF program installed on OS or just by default Firefox PDF extension. I was using PDF Download which allow this but PDFescape deactivate all feature of PDF Download ;-(

Chromifox Basic

Lovely Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I really like this theme, but not because it's google-chrome-like. I like it cause it have tabs that are IMHO the best I have ever seen for FireFox. Maybe they could be nicer (not just flat aqua background) but they can show me exactly what tab I'm visiting currently. It may sounds funny but when I have more than 10 tabs opened, then with some themes it's difficult to see difference between current tab and background tabs.

There are 3 thing that I would love to see (probably in alternate version of Chomifox):
- no rectangle around toolbar icons, and I would prefer to see icons from "Strata Reloaded" or "Vista on XP" (blue one)
- blue icons for "folder" icons in bookmarks
- 3D-like tabs (sharper dropshadow, etc)

Also I have found a nasty thing with default XP-theme (simple gray one, not the colorful rounded that is seen just after installing XP). There is small rectangle in the lower right corner of the FF window (resizer button) that is NOT COLORIZED on aqua. It is still gray...

Anyway, this theme is really nice (especially this aqua background color).

CuteMenus - Crystal SVG

Lovely ;-D Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'm using this set of icons for a long time. I agree with Vitruviux that after upgrading to FF3 History and Favorites icons are missing. I was waiting for several months (since public release of FF3) to fix this nasty bug, but there were no updates. We are all begging You to fix it :-D PLS!!

FoxTab

Cute :-D Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's really cute add-on. I agree to several other people that say it could be something more than just "view tab". For now the only thing that FoxTab lacks is possibility to select (by "drawing" a rectangle) several tabs' thumbnails and close them at once (by pressing delete or something). Currently tabs can be close one by one which takes time to get rid of several tabs. Please consider adding such options!! :-D
