FavLoc is a superb add-on that functions smoothly and intuitively. I long ago came to rely upon it and just now discovered that, with the upgrade to FF18, it no longer works.
Justin, if you’re still involved with FavLoc, please update it to work with FF18. If you need to start charging a fee, that’s fine. You have a winner here.
This is a superb add-on that does exactly what it promises, and does it both quickly and with a minimum of fuss. I've tried other add-ons with a similar purpose, but none could approach the elegance of this product.
If you do much printing from the web, this will quickly become an indispensable tool in your toolbox.
This add-on provides just the touch of color that the default theme so desperately needs. Adding color to the previously uniformly black buttons aids immeasurably in quick recognition and is far more pleasing aesthetically. The add-on does precisely what its author set out to do (based on written comments) and is an elegant solution to an irritating problem. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.6.0).
QuickJava has long been one of my favorite add-ons so I was disappointed to find that it apparently was not compatible with FF4. However, by using Add-on Compatibility Reporter to disable compatibility checking, I was able to successfully run QuickJava in FF4. I've been running it for more than a week and, so far, have not encountered any problems. Nonetheless, I'm hoping that QuickJava will be updated. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.7.2). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
This is a potentially great add-on, but it needs further work:
* As noted by PCWorld, when printing, it only prints the first page. That's a fairly obvious problem that should have been fixed before release.
* iReader permits selecting a default font family but, so far as I can tell, does not permit selecting font size. Ironically, iReader does permit zooming in or out, but does not permit selecting a default. This also should be an easy fix.
* When scrolling, the text breaks up until scrolling stops rather than scrolling smoothly. Since this does not occur when scrolling within Firefox, it clearly is a problem associated with iReader.
FoxStocks is intuitive and unobtrusive, yet remarkably effective.
I'd like to suggest just one added feature: How about an option to routinely display price movement, up or down, with the mouse-over displaying the current price (the opposite of the current arrangement). I'm usually more interested in the direction and amount of movement rather than the current price.
I just installed this in FF 3.5.1 and it works flawlessly. Downloads are fast and easy, and the actual file name is preserved.
For those who claim it is not compatible, note that there is no added tool bar. This add-in requires that you actually view the video at the YouTube web site, not at some third party site. The download buttons appear at the right side of the YouTube screen. Just click on the format you want.
This is a superb addition to FireFox. Use it in its default configuration if you like, but its real power comes in its ability to be configured to suit your exact needs. The interface is elegantly simple and the configuration options offer virtually anything you could desire. After a brief "teaching" period, telling NoScript your preferences, NoScript operates quietly in the background providing a significant additional level of protection for your system. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (188.8.131.52).
After trying other converters, I settled on Media Converter. It doesn't offer the seemingly endless options of some other add-ons, but what it does, it does very well. I wanted to be able to simply and reliably download video from YouTube, etc., and convert to other formats. This unobtrusive add-on makes that process very simple and extremely reliable. Contrary to some other comments, I haven't found it to be any slower than other similar add-ons. This one is well worth installing! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.1).
This is by far the best solution I've found for monitoring webmail accounts. It discretely signs in to accounts, checks for new mail and announces when mail has arrived. Reading new mail, or going to your webmail account for any reason, is a single mouse click away. This add-on is simply elegant. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.4).
This is a superb theme that I've been using for several months. Unfortunately, I've now upgraded to Firefox 3 and Maxi is not compatible. Miron Costant, please update Maxi.
This is just what an add-on should be: Tiny, unobtrusive and extremely easy to use. Well done! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.4.2.1).
