I installed it and quickly had a look but it seems like it just adds a little shortcut icon on the toolbar which pops upa small window of the ankiweb page (to add keywords). I think the purpose of this extension has slightly missed the mark with "Quickanki". I'd say it's negligable that it's quicker than having an open tab with anki. What would really make QuickAnki deliver its objective is to add quickanki to the context menu so that you can add words from highlighted text
Example. You are reading some text on a website, you found a word that you want to remember so you highlight the text, then right click, then click "add word to anki"; THEN the anki web pops up with the highlighted word automatically placed in the "FRONT" text box.
Otherwise it's good to see there's finally an anki firefox addon. But i think to really make this app mainstream is to add highlighted words straight to your anki decks.
Love this extension, thanks for making it!
1) There is no way to hide the context menu item: Search for "[word]" -->
I want to hide context submenu item (with the arrow) since i want everything directly on the context menu itself. I've hidden everything that i don't want in submenu but the menu appears there even when there's nothing inside the submenu.
2) Tabs open twice. I know it's been acknowledged but just reminding you of it.
Thanks very much
This works great but i wish there were more dictionary slots to fit more sites in. The reason for more is for language learners who need access to multiple dictionary, colloquial/idiom dictionaries, conjugation searches etc.
Suggestion: Please add more spaces to add more dictionaries.
Better than the other ones where you have to go through meaningless navigation just to find what you looking for. I use this for sentances/paragraphs and use it in conjunction with "Wiktionary and google translate" firefox extension. These two extensions combined make for fast and direct translations.
Hey, just chiming in what others have already said about the dictionary no longer working. Just goes to show how much i use this nifty tool and brought me here to tell how much i love it.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.5).
Nice add-on. It useful for those stubborn words you just can't seem to memorise. It's a good way to learn vocab especially starting out because most conversational or common words will appear several times in a webpage. This gives you a kick start in your language learning process. Highly recommended. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.51).
