My Reviews

Awesome Screenshot Plus - Capture, Annotate & More

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Includes obnoxious irrelevant money-making functions which are not clearly disclosed in the primary description.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.4.0.1.1-signed).

Mozilla Labs: Prospector - OneLiner

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Prevents use of multiple search engines.

Thunderbird Conversations

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is like a whole new Thunderbird. It would be nice if the toolbar it uses were more native looking, and it feels a little slow, but for the most part I really like it.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0.2).

Compose for Thunderbird

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I wish it didn't deviate so severely from the OS theme. I'm not sure if that was intentional or just easier because it's a proof of concept. Really I'd just like the normal composition window to be a tab, but the GMail-like address fields are nice.

Twitter Address Bar Search

Occasionally Useful Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Basically just creates an pinned tab and adds two special functions to the address bar for entries beginning with '@' or '#'. You can create a pinned tab yourself without this addon but some people don't know that.

JSONView

Does one thing and does it well Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Although it only provides one little feature, displaying JSON responses, it does it sensibly. Not much more you can ask.

Quick Search Bar

Fantastic Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The main reason I use Firefox is because it supports multiple search engines better than Chrome. This makes it even easier to use multiple search engines. And I really like the way you can search from the context menu by clicking the icon without a submenu.

Open With

Good but with funny name Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very useful for web developers. Needs a better name so more people can find it. "Open With Browser" or "Open In Different Browser". "Open With" sounds like a file format handling addon. I would give it five stars but you can't fix the icon if it doesn't load correctly, which often happens in linux since linux does not embed icons in executables.

Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus

Must Have Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Adblock is far more useful with this installed. Without this, element hiding is very difficult and error prone. Don't know why it isn't built in.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.1.1-signed).

RequestPolicy

Whitelisting is Completely Impractical Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Whitelisting is a completely impractical way to solve this problem. Almost every site you go to will host it's images or javascript on a different domain name (e.g. cdn4.whatever.example.com, images.cdn89.whatever.example.com) and those will fail to load. All I wanted to do was *blacklist* facebook and those fixed position bars at the bottom, but apparently adblock (without the default easylist) is the best way to do this.
