Download Statusbar

Wha??? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I don't mind you adding a "sponsor", and it's nice that you added an option to turn it off...but what is it? There's nothing in the license or a privacy policy. Is it a tracker that monitors my every move? Is it the FBI? Unfortunately I must assume this is malicious and uninstall your addon until I know what "sponsor" and "support" means. Too bad because I really like it.

Unsorted Bookmarks Folder Menu

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works fine in 7.0, contrary to the disclaimer. Thanks for making this, it is inexplicable that this is not default. Open a whole new window just to access a bookmark folder? Really?

Tab Utilities

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is still my favorite extension. The tab grouping feature is great, keep up the good work! (I don't know what happened, but Tab Utilities works correctly with Pentadactyl now, which, in short, is awesome.)

Nice one! I might like this more than Tile Tabs :)

Good addon, working well in Kubuntu 11.04. Can't wait to see where it goes from here. Thanks!

Menu Icons Plus

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I use Ubuntu and disable icons in menus, mostly because its broken and looks like crap. However disabling icons in menus system wide affects Firefox, as in it makes Firefox look like crap (not to mention that the icons in Firefox are actually quite useful).

Enabling this add-on brings all the Firefox icons back even if they are disabled for everything else, which is awesome. Plus it fills in lots of blanks. Now instead of a bunch of missing icons there's only a few. So thanks :)

Pentadactyl

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is awesome.I ran into some problems though (broken Awesomebar, back/forward functionality, and some other stuff too). But after I disabled it, restarted Firefox, and then re-enabled it it cleared itself out. Seems to be working fine now, not sure what that was about. Also not sure how I used Firefox without this!

EDIT: Turns out basically any tab behavior changing add-on (I tested several, notably Tab Utilities and Tab Mix Plus) created the issues. Tab Utilities is something I always use, mainly for the smart grouping. Pentadactyl seems to not have any of those features, although I'm still investigating. An example of what I mean by this would be that new tabs and searches with Pentadactyl always open in the last tab; then when I press "d' to close it I am sent to the tab directly to the left rather than the last tab I was on. I am then forced to use key combinations to get back to where I was, but if I close the tab normally (close button or middle mouse click) I am sent back to the correct, originating tab. This is confusing and seems to be counterproductive.

Furthermore, if I choose to use C-n or C-p to get back to where I was and am using the built in feature to not load every tab when I start Firefox every tab I pass through is loaded. Conversely, Tab Utilities allows me to use C-left/right to cycle tabs, but doesn't actually select the tab until I release Ctrl. This means that it is not displaying or loading the tabs I pass through until I actually stop and release the key, which is, to say the least, awesome. Pentadactyl may have features like this, I'm still wading through the copious amounts of documentation, but as far as tabbed browsing goes, the default settings are making me work much harder, even as compared to the default Firefox behavior (a simple C-w and I'm back where I started). But that's just my impression after a few days...perhaps I'm missing something?

EDIT: There is a plugin for the add-on that mostly restores the functionality. It allows to set where tabs open and the order tabs are selected upon close, which saves a ton of keystrokes. Seems like that one should be built in.

Status-4-Evar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've found it very difficult to make Firefox 4 less cluttered thanks to the addon bar and addons not supporting moving their icons. After trying many, many solutions I think this is the best. Thanks!

UI Fixer

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works well, and it's tiny. Too bad I need this to move ONE statusbar icon from the huge add-on bar (Greasemonkey). I guess this add-on bar mess will get sorted out eventually, but until then I recommend this add-on. Very useful!

I also don't see the bug @justina slobodgen speaks of, on Linux anyway.

Mozilla Labs: Prospector - Home Dash

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is very impressive! And also an amazing example of what can be done, instantly, with a restartless add-on. I, of course, don't know how this all works, but if you can do this much to fundamentally change the entire browser without restarting, well, lets hope installing all add-ons becomes this painless.I can't wait to see what you do with this add-on. It's kind of impractical in it's current form, at least for me, for continuous use, but is a great start and works just as you say, even on Linux and my old computer.

Memory Restart

Firefox can be a memory hog on my older computer so this extension is a very welcome addition to my collection. Thanks!

Greasemonkey

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great addon. I've been using the nightly version built from git with no issues using Firefox 4b*pre. I don't use a whole lot of scripts, about 30, but I have not experienced any problems, even with the large and complex ones.

I guess people are leaving bad reviews rather than reporting issues so they can be addressed because...well I'm not going to get into that. I do wish for the old script manager back though, if only for the fact that the new add-on manager is slow, cumbersome, and generally terrible. The little window was so much quicker... Hopefully it will get better!

Thank you for this awesome free add-on that opens up so many new options. Keep up the good work!

I'm amazed that I overlooked this for so long. Most excellent, and appears to be working well with Firefox 4b9pre (so far). Thanks!
