Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express

Usage only for donators? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I cannot recommend this add-on. I've installed it and the first time I've tried I saw a message "Due to heavy traffic you cannot download now" and then something that sounds to me like "Donate and this pseudo excuse doesn't count for you!" and some advertising along the way. Wow. Most add-on developers are very humble with their donation proposition (1 $ and such), but you take it to new heights with a proposition of 7 $. Keep your add-on.

Adblock Lite

Thank you Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you, thank you, thank you! :) Finally, I can get Adblock back like it should be. The new UI is just plain horrible, and then it is deliberately activating the non-intrusive ads without the user's consent....what the hell? Adblock Lite is my remedy to Plus, where development is going into the wrong direction and scares me.

Just one feature request: Could you please make the icon in the toolbar green for sites that have been whitelisted? I already hated the fact that in ABP the green icon was replaced by the grey one (just like when APB was switched off) and it was only possible to reactivate the gree one by modifiyng a CSS or installing Stylish.

Anyway, thank you! :)

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This add-on is really nice, brings back the status bar like it should be. However, there is a catch: For example: I have the extension InformEnter installed. Before FF 4.0, I had a symbol in the status bar. When I right-clicked it, the extension would show the arrows behind forms to fill in data. When I didn't need them any longer (because they were disrupting the style of the page sometimes), I right-clicked again on the symbol in the status bar and they were gone. Now, with FF 4-11, when I right-click on the InformEnter symbol in the add-on bar of FF, not only do I switch the extension on and off, but also I have the menu to show and hide toolbars. THIS IS FREAKING ME OUT. I had hoped that Status-4-Eva could solve this by replacing the add-on bar with its own status bar, sadly no. Nonetheless, this is a nice extension to have :)

Adblock Plus

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Adblock Plus is a life saver! Because you're not getting angry at all those ads that you don't see :)

HOWEVER, and this concerns the newest version: The color of the status bar icon and the symbol in the bar above the adress bar has changed from green to grey for sites that are being whitelisted, making you think that Adblock Plus is actually turned off completely, because if you turn Adblock Plus off by middle click or in the options, the icon turns permanently into grey until you reactive Adblock Plus. Now I'm thinking the whole time on my whitelisted sites: "Damn did I turn off ABP again?"

Please revert this change!

NoScript Security Suite

Too much complicated to configure Rated 1 out of 5 stars

As a long term user (using Noscript since its beginnings), I've always praised the massive increase of security which this Add-on brings. But nowadays, I don't even know anymore what I'm configuring in the options. There are simply too many, and they are not explained at all. You have to be an IT expert to handle this extension correctly. And when you don't know if it's secure, (and at the moment I don't know what Noscript is actually doing/blocking/allowing) it's not secure. Simple IT rule.Best would be to reduce the number of options dramatically, less than 10.

Cookie Monster

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've posted a review earlier too and I've found out the reason why Cookie Monster didn't remember my settings. Well, it's simple as that: I had the option enabled to erase all website settings in the privacy section of Firefox, that way Cookie Monster correctly inserted an "allow" exception into the cookie settings of Firefox, but Firefox itself deleted all entry when closing. I turned this option off and now it works, without having to re-install or create a new profile.

Cookie Monster is again part of my extension team :)

Cookie Monster

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I loved this add-on until I updated from to 3.6.3.

The add-on doesn't work anymore with this new version (though it says it does), it just doesn't remember the settings.

I hope the developer will fix this very soon. But I still give it a 5 star rating because it simplifies my browsing very much and ratings should always be based on how helpful the add-on is and not on the fact that it doesn't work with a new program version.
