In a little more detail...
oh gosh what has become of ff add ons? this place is falling apart. useful tools with oodles of potential are getting trashed by users not giving full and helpful reviews. then along come the masses that downrate because they don't even want what they've found or don't even know what they want. and to top it off developers just walk off instead of passing the project on and keeping the userbase.
currently, i use fennec on my mobile, and rarely connect to the internet with anything else. so i will be trying to keep a collection updated with security and power in mind.
doesn't work for fennec Rated 4 out of 5 stars
having used this before i know what i'm missing out on. it is suprising this installed on my mobile, not so suprising it didn't do anything! maybe something similar will come. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (188.8.131.52.1-signed).
broken for fennec Rated 1 out of 5 stars
i was going to write a review saying i could not find the menu entry, then discovered i could not type anything at all. i had to disable the add-on to write any review! using fennec 38 on android 4.2.2 mobile. please somebody fix this, typing on a mobile is painful.
defunct or unknown conflict? Rated 1 out of 5 stars
this concept and implementation sounds amazing, indeed the screenshots are compelling too. unfortunately i'm not getting anywhere. nothing changes on the page (although it appears to reload from cache) and the sidebar is always empty. also my other add-ons appear to have the occasional hiccup since i started trialling this one (for instance imtranslator produces a bubble popup when i highlight text despite that option has being disabled) so i'm inclined to believe there's more problems than will be sorted any time soon.
i should have noticed the last review was two yeas old!
glitchy button. Rated 4 out of 5 stars
i just got rather fraustrated with this add-on after the button kept on reloading, and slightly changing width, whenever the cursor enters or leaves the navigation bar. i was also unable to move the button to a less obtrusive position, perhaps due to the same bug. worst of all everything else was resetting because of it so context menus from the address bar were cancelling and such. may have been arguing with 'hide caption title bar plus' or recently i installed tab mix plus but i don't know what that would have done. _hasn't_even_proven_that_useful_yet_ because of the hit and miss nature of the proxy. uninstalling for now, may try later. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.56.1-signed).

hey most of these people downrating, don't even want the add-on! that kind of feedback should be directed to the _developer_ not the _add-on_. like "hey developer, i think your ethic is questionable, do you think you could be more relevant?" not "i don't want this add-on, therefore, ergo, vis-a-vis, concordantly, it is bad"
i am struggling to think of why anyone would want this. perhaps adsense testing under proxies? producing a certain workload and traffic pattern while measuring pings? whatever, if you don't want it, it's none of your biz!
thankyou developer, btw, for putting the effort in to fill the gaps in add-on diversity.
a very good server side spider process Rated 4 out of 5 stars
well, that's a ... different way of going about it! primarily i thought it would just be handy for tumbling but the concept goes far beyond that. quite simply the site does what spider/crawler programs do, then lets you download it as one zip (per blog or gallery) within seconds! they ask you don't use it more than twenty times a day as it's run at a loss on donations.
the addon is not very useful to me though. i always disable googoo scripts. so i have to load the rarchive page first, then 'temporarily allow' the scripts it needs, then refreshing, confirming over eighteen, copy the url in, circumventing the need for this add-on anyway.
then i found it produced invalid zips when it exceeded some limit when spidering tumblr archives (understandable as it sometimes found over four thousand images). the process does remove duplicate files (reblogs) automatically but doesn't tell you where it gave up.
obviously i need some practice and a workaround to enable the script ready. i may even give up on the add-on but i will still like to use the process.
unintrusive and useful Rated 5 out of 5 stars
all this does is flick through the open tabs as the right mouse button is dragged across the screen.
i wasn't sure if it would add some fancy page transition or if the cursor needed to be on the edge of the screen. nope, it does not have any superfluous details. it's proved useful to me already.
i would anticipate problems if you already have an add-on that changes right click functionality but i use it with 'ff rocker 0.2' 'tab wheel scroll 20110909' 'smartpager 0.3.0.13' and others without any complication.
simple and works Rated 4 out of 5 stars
just tested this name comprehension toolbar briefly, it seems to be good, but i do not have much use for it. please try it if you need to understand how an unusual or foreign name has been constructed, it also helps to make titles and honourifics obvious.
my concerns are it's size and visual design. also the 'tooltips' sometimes do not appear.
works, simply, well Rated 5 out of 5 stars
gosh, there is no pleasing some people! you worked so hard to provide consistant functionality and i guess that's the bit nobody else could be bothered with. but rating this down because you didn't configure it the thousands of different ways people want it (for free of course lol) is a pathetic way to thank you. the worst bit is most of their problems stem from combining this add-on with massive "intefere with the whole interface" add-ons. people are also adding to the confusion by "working around" things, and still rating it down!
i didn't realise for ages that there was the extra down-up or up-down, just being greatful for the functionality that the 'thread' switching had. all i can agree is yes configuring own shortcuts is good for people who have many add-ons or are fussy (i fit both catagories but luckily i agree with your choices!) but perhaps donating would be a greater incentive from them.
the only add-on i mix this with (perfectly) is "ff rocker". this adds 'hold right and tap left to go back' and 'hold left and tap right to return forward'. this completes the ability to navigate without having to aim the mouse.
"don't go changing, tryin' to please me... " Rated 5 out of 5 stars
perfect at what it does! i'm shocked at such sparse and negative reviews. altough there's not much description or documentation, it is a simple thing.
* no it does not support left-handed mouse, unless you are switching the buttons using your hardware drivers, which i thought was always needed.
* yes when going back the context menu appears after releasing the first button if the second button is not pressed in time, but that causes no problem on it's own and only another addon could be making it happen immediately. to make the addon wait longer, use the (one and only) option to increase delay.
* yes, if you are over a link that could be activated too, as with most clicks, the cursor position controls the context of the action.
so this addon is not a problem, it is simple! oh and thankyou @mancalledhero for your hint regarding instaclick. i had been looking for ways to speed up following links into new tabs and returning to index pages as it is a very common action. if instaclick causes me no other problems i can get rid of the 'open in new tab' context menu items which is atop a very long list.
i am using ff 23.0.1 on win7
lovely appearance Rated 4 out of 5 stars
thankyou for a beautiful overall appearance for firefox. i was disappointed by the heavy-handed personas approach and was glad to find such an aesthetically pleasing contribution.
i also use 'hide caption titlebar plus 2.7.3' which works very well especially with tabs underneath (as is my prefference anyway). i have tried disabling this regarding the grey tab bar issue, but no improvement, and wondering if it is an issue left by another uninstalled add-on or theme, as i have tried many recently.
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
thanks for this, i was searching for a long time for a way of redecorating firefox without the weighty 'personas'. there had to be something that took less memory and fuss. this is it! although the window border is not done this addon is a big improvement. please add more things to recolour, perhaps the colorlicious options page! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.2.1-signed.1-signed).
flexible and effective Rated 5 out of 5 stars
like we wish everything was these days...
i did find that sometimes it would only catch the stream from the point i changed resolution, because that changed the url too, but now i know to look for that.
this addon works. it gives me great pleasure to use it, and it doesn't leave a mess or regret it in the morning.
thanks to this addon i now have william shatner waxing lyrical on my desktop.
warnings for the slow of mind Rated 5 out of 5 stars
didn't read properly when i installed this addon, forgot about it. i thought it wasn't doing anything and was about to delete it when i realised i should check the instructions first! (yah i kno, rtm)
there are not supposed to be any options for this. it makes an xml script that matches the way a search box works. normally that takes a bit of fiddling and webmasters then share the script where the ff 'add "engine name"' feature can find it.
scripts can complicate this process. for example on 4shared.com you must allow scripts from search.4shared.com before the 'add to search bar' even appears. g**g** are renown for screwing up scripts, f***b*** are rather obstructive too, as are m****s***. well, enough name stropping. really good addon, not the developer's fault some make it silly difficult.
could you please put a reminder of how to use this addon in the description that shows in the addons window? i know it sounds petty but really, i forgot it needed a right click on the box!
to it's brilliance (and a bug) Rated 5 out of 5 stars
fisheye tabs has been essential to me for yonks, maximising visibility, making best use of space. otherwise i'd have to have two or three lines of tabs, group them, or have to scroll them with extra buttons, but this addon means i just have to wave the pointer in a tab's general direction and the answer is revealed! as lkozma's aparrent only addon, it's lasted well and for good reason, it's a perfect implementation of a perfect display optimisation method.
ok so that's my point, i like alot of space and no waste. so i installed 'hide caption titlebar plus' which basically gets rid of the actual window top (it puts the min/max/close by the throbber), moving everything up 16-20 pixels, ace! but fish eye tabs doesn't know this so it stretches the tabs more when i move _under_ the tabs and starts to shrink them again when i move up to tab level.
i don't expect an update because since it's origin in '07 it was only briefly developed in '09. still i would rather use it like that than go without it, just have to keep to under 128 tabs... thanks lászló kozma!

shame it's not so easy to work in reverse!

the greatest add-on i have.
the normal download window is so useless and slow and hardly fits any useful information on the screen, this is only one optional bar or even just one tiny icon and all that is fast and at a glance!
i'm still using an old version because i can't upgrade firefox from 184.108.40.206 but it's still the best.
unexpectedly simple Rated 3 out of 5 stars
very useful, and i thought an addon like this would be quite complex to use, but it really is basic. i do worry that it saves private information (to your own disk, of course) without encryption, i wonder if that feature will be added? also a simple restriction for how much time a field will be saved would stop saving old text. most helpful would be if it would not save anything automatically so i would have to ask it.
what happens if the time is zero, will everything save immediately? if set to a time does it then wait again before saving or will it be exactly as when you type?
