My Reviews

Instant Watchlist

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I used to add a bookmark to pages I wanted to check out later. When I was ready, I would go to my unsorted bookmarks and check the pages out. This ad-on give me another approach to this. Although experimental, it works as stated in FF 3.5.4. Give it a try.

Tea Timer

Get for time budgeting! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

As stated in the first review:

"I am now convinced that Firefox can save the world (somehow)."

I am becoming an ad-on junkie with FF and this is a great addition to the FF browser. Working on various projects at once, it is easy to loose track of time. With Tea Timer, I can set a limit to the amount I time I spend on a specific task and set the timer to alert me when I have used that time.

Now, can one of these great folks who design these ad-ons just come up with an ad-on that prevents me from installing more ad-ons? :)

Toolbar Buttons

Adds about any button you will ever need. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Here is the reply concerning the post installation issues I listed below:

"I have put the newer file on the official add-ons site (AMO). Just they can take a very long time to approve updates."

Post installation note: There are some issues about this download I have posted on the support site at:

http://codefisher.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=518

Otherwise, I stand by my original review:

As stated, it includes a lot of buttons. I haven't checked but after installing this ad-on there is probably a button for every function on the browser. All added buttons go to your customize screen so installation is seamless and transparent. Just right click > customize and there is your same customize toolbar box along with a bunch of new buttons added to FF's basic offering. Drag and drop as before. Worth having even if you only us a couple of them.

Net Notes

Could use improvements Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Works as advertised. There is no indication to alert the user that a note exists for the page being viewed. You could leave the notes textbox open all the time (very easy to toggle on/off) but it would take up space on the screen either on the side or bottom bar, so this is not practical. The directions (and the description actually) are a little vague as how to use it and need improvement. Making these changes would raise my rating to 5 stars for this add-on but as it is, I rate it a 3.

FoxClocks

What I always wanted for IE but never found Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A highly configurable ad-on. 5 stars!

It's only short coming (if you can call it that) is that it may take you a while to try out all the custom and standard variations for clock, date and day formats, but in a few minutes you will have a clock (or clocks) configured to the way you like it (them).

FoxClocks allowed me to configure 2 digital clocks below my browser screen: 1 for local (EST) time and 1 for GMT (Zulu) time with read outs including seconds. You can have 1, 2, or more clocks. The local and GMT dual clock set up I now have is a dream come true for a Ham Radio Operator and/or Short Wave Listener.

As you have read this far, I advise you to download it and give it a try. It's really the only way to see how customizable it is. If you don't like it, uninstalling it is just a couple of clicks away (I love Firefox ad-ons) but I'll bet you will keep it!

Weather Watcher Live

Great ad-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This ad-on will save you a lot of time over the course of a day if you use your computer a lot. I used to have to open a tab (or keep one open and reload it) and click thru to the National Weather Service page for my area to get the latest conditions. Now I just mouse over an icon to see the information; the local weather, temperature, etc, updated every 5 minutes. Much faster and always there above whatever website I am on. A 5-star ad-on!

NewTabURL

Should be included with the Firefox browser download Rated 5 out of 5 stars

NewTabURL along with Colorful Tabs (separate download) should come standard with the Firefox browser. No more opening a new tab, getting a blank page and having to type in a URL (unless you want to - NewTabURL gives you the option). NewTabURL is certainly a 5-star ad-on.

This ad-on along with Colorful Tabs: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1368 should be a included with a download of the Firefox browser. NewTabURL is definitely a 5-Star ad-on!

Graet ad-on. Well worth the $1.00 USD donation.

N0HR Propfire

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

5 Stars for Propfire! Experimenting with browsers other than IE, just went thru Opera and now trying FireFox. What a difference with these add ons. Just got FoxClocks and now added Propfire. These are the kind of add ons I have wanted for years with IE. Thank you Pat, N0HR and Mozilla!
