superfish stealth installer Rated 1 out of 5 stars
I couldn't understand why Firefox was hanging while viewing an INTRANET webpage with only static HTML content. Then I saw the status bar saying 'waiting for superfish.com'. Took some time to find the source of this MALWARE. I had been using this for years. Never again.

works great for pretending to be googlebot when that gives better access to some sites

Thanks, just what I was looking for to let me update Firefox without losing CustomiseGoogle.
@disastrophe before removing it why not spend just 10 seconds looking at it and realising that the greyed out options are those that are GLOBALLY set in "all services". If you deselect them there you can then individually select for each service.

I had this installed since FF2.x. However, even though the add-on description says it doesn't work for FF3, it still has maxversion set to 3. This bit me when I upgraded to 3.0.x, because of course I got no warning that it wouldn't work. The actual problem is that with this extension enabled, Firefox 3.x will crash as soon as you click on a link to a pdf document. It took me a while to identify this extension as the culprit.
The author claims that the problem is with Firefox, and provides a bug URL. Having just looked there, it claims that the bug was resolved by the Acrobat 9.1 release, BUT I'm already using Acrobat 9.1.3, so either it's the wrong bug for this problem or the bug wasn't fully fixed.
I tried following the link to the homepage for the extension, and got just a blank page! Given also that the last update was in 2006, I can only conclude that the author had abandoned supporting this extension, so I've uninstalled it.

Since I found this and started using it it's been indispensable! I've got it on all my Firefox installations at home, work and laptop. The only criticism is that it hasn't been updated for 3.5. I'm actually holding off on upgrading Firefox because I don't want to lose this addon! PLEASE update it. Even if you are working on a new "version 2" for the new feature requests, please bump the maxversion on the existing 1.0x for Firefox 3.5.x now!
