Great Add-On Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Do Not Use For Bookmark Syncing. Ok for everything else. Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Completely ruined my bookmarks. I have a large bookmark collection that I have been building for years, and is a very important for my business and just about everything that I do in a web browser. Firefox Sync jumbled all my bookmarks, created duplicates, and deleted/lost some of them. This is absolutely unacceptable as a bookmark sync utility. I restored from a recent bookmark backup, and re-installed Xmarks. Everything works fine again now. Xmarks works perfectly and I have zero sync issues using it.That being said, Firefox sync also syncs passwords, preferences, tabs, and history. I still use Firefox sync to sync these and it seems to be doing ok with those tasks. I know Xmarks will also sync tabs and passwords, but I don't like the idea of any one company/organization having too much of my personal information. Mozilla is a non-profit, and Xmarks/Lastpass is not, and I have a little more trust in Mozilla. People/companies will do unbelievable things to make an extra dollar. Ultimately I trust no one, and I out of the few passwords I sync with Firefox sync, non of which are my important accounts (financial, web servers, etc.).Summary:Firefox Sync = Horrible for syncing bookmarks. Ok for everything else.Xmarks = Best choice for bookmark syncing as of the time of this review. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6.3).
