This is simply the best html validator that exists for Firefox. Nothing else even compares.
I have no constructive advice (because its so great) other than it sure would be nice if it worked for the very latest version of firefox. I keep Firefox 3 on my mac for one reason and one reason only: this add-on.
I love the Tidy HTML validator by Marc Gueury but it's not available on mac. It is dirt simple, you install it and every page you go to results in a green (ok), red (errors), or yellow (warnings) icon on your status bar. If you want to see details/validation errors, click on the icon. This is the benchmark for an html validator.
Since I cannot get the add-on I want, I tried this one. It falls waaay short of my benchmark. This add-on requires you to install a separate app which is kind of dodgy in itself. When you want to validate a page, you have to click a button and wait for it to work. This is OK for checking a specific page. If you are trying to check your site by navigating it, though, it becomes totally impractical. So it seems this app was designed around an unrealistic use case.
EDIT: Man, this thing doesn't even seem to work for intranet pages located behind a login. I try to validate a page and it actually validates my login page. Lame! Before you RTFM me, I'd like to point out that this is a firefox plugin. If it needs a manual, then you are doing it wrong. I don't need a manual for Firebug and I certainly don't need a manual for the other html validator.
I appreciate the developer's effort in making a validator that works on all platforms, but this need a LOT of polish both in terms of installing it and running it.
