In a little more detail...

I have LOTS of Add-on Collections.

My groupings of collections are organized by functionality. It is the closest thing I could do to tagging useful add-ons.

I'm currently tracking over 400 add-ons. All of them have been categorized or tagged by features, into about 100 collections. As of the end of Nov, 2011, I'm in the process of cleaning up the collections to make them consistent and complete--stay tuned!

You may find some collections have more than one add-on that seem to do the same thing. The reason is because I find that some are more compatible than others with other add-ons OR some are maintained then suddenly stop. So this is my way of keeping track of alternatives to find the best fit.

Anytime I find a new one that I think is worth tracking, I will add it to one of these. Subscribe to keep informed and enjoy.

MR Tech Toolkit

Alternative Collection of Add-ons for Mr Tech Toolkit Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I started a collection over 2 years ago of alternative add-ons that can replace functionality originally found in Mr Tech Toolkit (MTT).

If you would like to subscribe to it go here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/collections/smayer97/for-mr-tech-toolkit/

If you know of any add-ons that can replace any functionality in MTT, please let me know and I will certainly consider adding it to the collection for all subscribers to benefit.

Cleanest Addon Manager

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Also, consider adding the Compatibility info next to the Add-on version, like so:

Add-on Name vX.X. (Min - Max), where min/max are the compatible Firefox versions reported by the add-on.

Multiple Addon Deactivator

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Any chance Groups will be added any time soon? This would be a great feature!

Also, consider adding the Compatibility info next to the Add-on version, like so:

Add-on Name vX.X. (Min - Max), where min/max are the compatible Firefox versions reported by the add-on.

This has GREAT potential that could really take off if it gets implemented.

@JD isn't that what the CLEO add-on is for (by the same developer)?

BarTab Heavy

Possible Solution for Pinned Tabs Rated 4 out of 5 stars

@tedgotsoul

found this solution that might work for you (posted by a developer of BarTab Lite X:

"browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand" is your friend in about:config.

Please see detailed instructions on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/940656#answer-377837

@Hazon, maybe you could add a checkbox in options for this pref.

For Full Version up-to-date BarTab, see BarTab Heavy here:

@Bee Dee 666 Loosing unloaded tabs is one very good reason why it is HIGHLY recommended to use a Session Manager. Check out this very popular one:

Webmail Ad Blocker

NO LONGER WORKS with the NEWEST Yahoo Mail Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I just started using this about 2 weeks ago and it seemed to work fine UNTIL Yahoo decided to change their e-mail tool very recently.

Now this add-on no longer expands to the width of the screen like before.

Please fix if you can.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (3.9.1).

Flashblock

Does not Work with Vimeo most of the time Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Works ok but often does not allow Vimeo video to play even when select Allow for this site. Using FF 16.0.2 on Mac OS X 10.6.8

Scrollbar Search Highlighter

Needs Work Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Nice idea BUT many issues:

- does not save color choice for Highlighting- if doing QuickFind/Find as You Type, highlights disappear after Finder goes away, so results are lost
- If select word(s) first then open Finder, Highlighting of results and scrollbar do not show up.
- Results only work if you TYPE in FInder- cannot close Finder with keyboardWould be nicer if highlights were on the left of scrollbar, as it is too lose to the edge of the screen and difficult to access with multiple monitor set-up.

Also bettwer if Extra-Wide setting was wider; easier for 27" monitors

Using FF 16.0.2 on Mac OS 10.6.8

Consider FindBar Tweak instead

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.57).

XUL/Migemo

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

NO longer works at all using FF 16.0.2 on Mac OS 10.6.8. Nothing happens!!Tried trick by other user to also load "enhanced Findbar" add-on...helped turn on XUL/Migemo, so it seemed to work BUT the Highlight All and the Scrollbar markings do not work at all. Tried on fresh new profile but not go.

Going to try "FindBar Tweak" or "Scrollbar Search Highlighter" addons which can do the same as above/

Cleanest Addon Manager

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I do like the layout out and info. Like other reviewer stated, does not work in Search mode and Collections, so still need to use Slim Addon Manager. Also, does not preserve info from "Is It Compatible" addon (which displays the Min & Max Version of Addons) when change Preference settings.https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/is-it-compatible

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (6.0).

Slim Add-ons Manager

Works as it should. No Surprises. GREAT! FF 16.0.2

Disable Add-on Compatibility Checks

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank goodness this still exists. All the others that used to do this no longer do or themselves are no longer compatible.Works on FF 16.0.2

XUL Profiler (by yoono)

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I've been using this for a long time. Works for me in FF 3.6.18 with no major problems. Has helped me track down slow extensions in use, not slowing down FF start-up.

I want to upgrade to current FF version. Has anyone had this work in FF 4/5/6?
