My Reviews

Muter

Should be part of Firefox! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

At last, a way to mute/unmute the browser, whithout affecting other apps. Seems to work fine for me in Firefox 21 on Ubuntu 12.04. This functionality should really be included in all web browsers!

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.9.8).

UnPlug

Simply the best. And latest version works with YT Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Best YT (and others) downloader of all the ones I tried. It is simple and unintrusive, and the author seems to constantly keep it updated so it works again quickly every time the the sites change.

September 2012: version 2.50 didn't work anymore with YouTube, but 2.052beta (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/unplug/versions/2.052beta) does work.

XPather

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Xpaths can get complicated, and good examples are not easy to find on the web. Most examples are too simple for real world use. This extension has been invaluable for helping to find the best Xpath expression for specific searches in real documents.

Google Translate ANY => DE

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The search engine add-on is fine, but Google Translate is crap. Hope to find a better translation site.

Open in Browser

Should be normal browser behaviour. Essential Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is an essential add-on until such functionality is integrated into the browser itself. (see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=57342)

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6).

Write Area

Great idea, but v. 0.7 buggy? Rated 3 out of 5 stars

The principle is excellent, but I have a few problems with version 0.7.

For example, the menu entry "Edit with Write Area" disappears after a while, and I need to disable the extension, restart FF, re-enable and restart again to get it back.

Hopefully this will be fixed in a future version, and I will try it again.
