I have for years used LinkExtend when using search motors! LE makes my surfing very secure! I have just updated from FF3.6.17 to FF4.0.1! LE works excellent, but the search motor objects are now placed too far to the left overlapping the text of the sitelist. Easily fixed in the next LE version! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.1.2).
It is a great extension to have the favorites of the Trident-based browsers (IE, Avant, Maxthon etc) in sync with the favorites of the the Gecko- (Mozilla-) based browsers (Firefox, Flock, CometBird etc). But clicking on the "Organize Favorites" in the Gecko-based browsers gives a blank screen, so you must have a Trident-based browser to do that! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.3).
PROS: PlainOldFavorites works fine for Gecko-based browsers like Firefox, Flock, CometBird etc and are in sync with Favorites in Trident-based browsers like IE, Avant Browser etc.
CONS: "Organize Favorites" works not for Gecko-based browsers.
SUMMARY: To Organize Favorites a Trident-based browser must be used.
I have installed PhProxy (& other Firefox' extensions) into my FLOCK browser (Gecko-based)
PROS: Very easy to install & setup! The proxy works excellent for all links & sub-links on a site.
CONS: The proxy works not for a new site from favorites (bookmarks). The address bar is then not starting with PH:: ! Clicking on the P sign at the end of the address bar activates proxy, but often too late, as the site has already loaded up.
SUMMARY: InBasic is on the right track, for sure, but there should be a button, that the user can toggle between proxy on and off!
