This is such a great program. I honestly wouldn't be using Firefox without it. I don't want to have to turn off hardware acceleration and messing with about:config is nowhere near as elegant as an add-on. I love being able to specify bold vs non bold font rendering. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (11.08.18.01).
My main menu button has been in a custom location for YEARS so upgrading to Firefox 4 was not fun, mainly cause the Personal Menu button was removed from Personal Menu! I thought I would get used to the change but found the default position (and look) of the Firefox button annoying and why change something that wasn't broke to me? I was going to downgrade since it was that necessary until I found this and a couple others add-ons. I would love to give it 5 stars, but I don't think by design it can earn that since it's meant to be simple. I would give it 4.5 if we could rate with half stars. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.3).
I would not use Twitter if it wasn't for this. However, is there any way to get the old blank circle back instead of having the t in the url bar? picky, I know. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0).
This is a good add on, but I can't give it above 3 for a couple reasons though. It has been really messing with my bookmarks. I couldn't middle click on my Personal Menu icon to open the sidebar. It left it broken even after uninstall, but for some reason it works now, but no idea why. It just doesn't seem predictable or safe in this reason. And second of all, I don't get the whole "Multipanel" aspect and the right and left keys mouse click keys should be reversed. They don't seem very intuitive in their current form. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.6).
I was coming back to give this a better rating, but then it stopped working. It has killed my bookmarks button in Personal Menu. It was actually working fine with the middle click opening the sidebar, but now it's broken again. Great. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.6).
I think this might need some work. Incompatible with Personal Menu, so I can no longer middle click my bookmark icon to get in the sidebar. Also, when I used it, the side icons mysteriously disappeared on me and I have yet to find a way to get them back. Getting a 1 because even after uninstalling it, I can no longer middle click with Personal Menu for bookmarks. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.6).
This has been my default theme for quite some time. I tried a similar theme in a FF3 on another computer, but miniFox is still the best. Because it hasn't been updates in a such a long time, I think it's been abandoned. The creator probably got bored and won't be revisiting this. I believe that one of us would have to do the port.
REVISED REVIEW: Thanks! I can live with the new main menu button, but having the bookmarks icon look like a bookmark and not that star thing is really helpful. Anyways, this is a must have extension, combined with miniFox (which I hope gets updated for 3 sometime soon).
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I HATE the new bookmarks icon. I would probably have 5, but that book mark item is unbelievably bad. Anyway to use the old items from FF2? I already did a search and found nothing. Somebody said the same thing and was never replied to.
