My Reviews

Stylish

There's no way to install your own scripts or edit scripts. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

The addon I got looks nothing like what is pictured. I see no way to edit scripts. And the only way to install scripts is from userstyles or an URL. And once you do install a script from userstyles, the only options are to disable or remove them. Pretty useless like this with no way to edit scripts.

Zoom Page

Bug in version 13.1 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I'm also experiencing bugs where the site specific settings are not being remembered. It acts like the special tabs with the 100% setting set. Specifically, a website loads at 100% (even though it has been previously set to 133%) I increase the zoom to 133%, switch to another tab, and when I switch back it is back down to 100%. So it is probably related to the special tabs code added to version 13.1

for everyone else having problems you can go back to version 13.0 by clicking version information at the bottom of the page, then clicking the 'see complete version history' link. that will give you a page with all the previous versions to install.

DOM Inspector

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Find still seems to fail when searching for IDs. I've tried using both ID and searching for ID as an attribute, yet the search fails to find anything. And I have checked to make sure the item I'm searching for is there; I've even gone straight to the node before starting the ID search, yet nothing is ever found.

Ghostery

Good extension, but . . . Rated 4 out of 5 stars

it sometimes forgets its settings and displays the wizard on Firefox restart; and EVERY time I restart Firefox, the Ghostery button is gone. I've used the DOM Inspector to see if it is just in a different location, and checked the component palette and it is not anywhere upon restart. To get it displayed I have to open the options and select the option to re-add it. This gets annoying when you have to do it on every single restart of Firefox.

What about:..

Was great when it worked Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This extension worked great... but with Firefox 33 it just stopped working. It still installs and shows the button, but the button does nothing now.

UPDATE: Okay, turns out it quit working because I moved it to a different toolbar. It only works when it is on the Nav Bar.

Download Status Bar

Works great - one small issue though Rated 5 out of 5 stars

the buttons on either end of the bar are coded with background images marked important in the CSS. this makes it so the end user or other extensions can't readily modify the look of the buttons to blend in. My browser has a dark blue theme with white fonts, and the gray buttons with black text look terrible. Could you remove the important designations so the CSS can be overridden?

FavLoc

Stopped working properly in Firefox 18 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great extension... but it stopped working properly with the upgrade to Firefox 18. When downloading a file, you can still select a Favloc, and it even prompts for overwriting properly; but nothing downloads and there are no error messages.

Open in Browser

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works great, but a minor annoyance has popped up under Firefox 17 . . . The save dialog looks normal for most types, but the dialog for executables isn't resizing properly; and the buttons are half on screen and half off screen at the bottom of the dialog. Disabling this extension fixes the issue, and reenabling it brings it back.

Speed Dial

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works great... except for the weather links. It looks like iGoogle is no longer providing the proper weather info to parse. Perhaps a different provider could be utilized.

Also, I have a future improvement request. Could you add a way to temporarily disable the background downloading. It would be nice to be able to temporarily suspend all the background downloading that speed dial is doing when I need the bandwidth for something else or when I'm utilizing private browsing mode (as some sites get messed up without cookies). Perhaps a button to be able to toggle the background downloading off would help.

It's All Text!

Great extension Rated 5 out of 5 stars

but it would be nice if you could add a preference for when to clean out the edit directory. Looking at the code, I see it cleans everything over a week old; but it would be nice if there was a preference to change that to the user's choice (i.e. on next restart, one hour, six hours, one day, etc.). That should be an easy change as you could just plug the preference amounts (days, hours, minutes, seconds, or all zeros for next restart) into the line that calculates the last_week variable.

Display Window Title

This does work with Windows XP... Rated 4 out of 5 stars

with one quick change to the aero-overlay.css file:

#aero-titlebar-stack {
margin-bottom:-25px !important;
}

with that change it works perfectly in XP. Would be nice if the developer added a way to change the font, font size, font color and font style (i.e. bold, italic, etc.).

Greasemonkey

Bug in latest version Rated 5 out of 5 stars

in version 0.9.10 and the August 23rd nightly, there is a bug which causes middle clicking of links to no longer function at all. Disabling GM or reverting to earlier versions (0.9.8 or the August 12th nightly) fixes the issue.

Noia 4 -discontinued-

Minor issue Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Great job, but I do notice one small thing. Some of the button icons for All In One Sidebar that have been changed by this extension are only available as LARGE buttons, whereas I'm using small icons. So I have 3 HUGE buttons (#multipanel-button, #pageinfo-button, & #addons-button) with the rest of them small. Would be nice to have the small icon size buttons included as well.

Stratiform

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

1.0 was good, except for the Stratiform button being forced into the addon bar (just put it in the customization palette and let people put it where they want it (if they want it)... but 1.1 forces the 'pretty dropmarkers' which are too big, thus forcing some of my buttons off screen. Please make this optional once again.

Simple Timer

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Uh... what's with the version numbers? I had version 1.9 and now I'm getting a notice that version 1.1 is the latest.

SearchLoad Options

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Firefox 4 beta 10 - with this enabled, the search bar no longer works. I can enter the search term(s) but pressing enter or clicking the magnifying glass button does nothing, no new tab, no search, nothing. Disabling this returns normal functionality.

Tab Scope

Doesn't work with DragNDrop Toolbars extension installed Rated 3 out of 5 stars

with Firefox 4 beta 9 . . . version 0.37 worked perfectly, however version 1.0 does not work if you have the DragNDrop Toolbars (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/dragndrop-toolbars/) extension installed. It sometimes appears as if it is trying to work (a white box comes up with a title, but only on the rightmost tab); but never displays the page on those few occasions when it tries to show up. Disabling DragNDrop toolbars has it working fine. Also going back to 0.37 and it works fine, even with DragNDrop toolbars installed.

Personal Menu (Personal Firefox Button)

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

SUGGESTION: add a hotkey so the menu can be opened in fullscreen mode. Here's some XUL code additions that will do it:
<commandset id="mainCommandSet">
<command id="cmd_mainMenuPopper" oncommand="if (window.fullScreen) {document.getElementById('appmenu-popup').openPopupAtScreen(0,0,true);} else {document.getElementById('appmenu-popup').openPopup(document.getElementById('appmenu-button'),'after_start',0,0,false,false);}"/>
</commandset>
<keyset id="mainKeyset">
<key id="key_menu_popper" modifiers="alt" key="`" oncommand="document.getElementById('cmd_mainMenuPopper').doCommand();"/>
</keyset>

This was just a quick and dirty change for my use, so it defines Alt - ` to pop open the menu; but you can change that or even put in an option to define it.

Personal Menu (Personal Firefox Button)

problem with version 5.0 Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been testing version 5.0 and it works absolutely great... but there is one problem. Whenever you hide the menu bar, it inserts a bookmark menu button on the right end of the bookmarks toolbar. I don't know if this is a bug or a feature; but if it's a feature could you add an option to not have that button inserted there.
