Very pleased with this it's a real life saver for those wanting more control of their browser.
Thanks to the author for the hard work.
Love it -but has just stopped working in FF25.0.You only miss great addons when they stop working! :)
Hi sorry -not sure how to contact you -but we'll try this :)
No errors seen. I'm WIndows 8 64bit. I have 65 Addons but the problem I'm getting happened straight away after restarting in FF V25.
The little status bar is there except it does start or fill up as normal and nothing is copied to the clipboard.
Reason I noticed so quickly is I use it a lot and I don't think there was any other changes my end.
Wow, have I missed this! :)
Managed to get it going again so thanks to lengoldstein for pointing out the excellent Disable Add-on Compatibility Checks https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/checkcompatibility/
Also brings the must have Classic Compact Options https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/classic-compact-options/
Even tighter spacing! :D
5/5 for CC of course!
Yes, 1.72 has stopped working -unfortunately the author or someone has seen fit to censor and remove my comments from yesterday.
Hi, no problem sorry if you thought I was complaining. I was more bothered my review praising your Addon had been removed too.
Thanks again for all the hard work with this Addon :-) We all appreciate it.
Very nice, but is it posible to open selected/highlighted text to Notepad like http://mfe.gorgias.de/#sendto
I don't seem to be able to set that up.
Very nice, thanks.
Would be great if we could have the "Send to Notepad" functioning in the now defunct Send To http://mfe.gorgias.de/#sendto
Would save even more time! :-)
I've not found an working Addon yet that can send selected text to Notepad.
As many others have said it's not working fully with Firefox 3.6+ -or at least Google's crap scripts have broken things again! Anyway a simple workaround for me is bookmarking http://images.google.com/search?hl=en&gbv=2&sout=1&biw=1912&bih=905&tbs=imgo%3A1%2Cisz%3Al&tbm=isch&sa=1&q=blu-ray&aq=f&aqi=g10&aql=&oq= and then entering a search term from there.
It then works. If I search from the normal Google Images URL GIH only works on the first page of results. That Google URL above is if you want the basic version so if you like the more cluttered look use http://images.google.com I suppose you could try to change http://images.google.**** to your locale.
Maybe people could post their workorounds?
This works great with Add to Search Bar https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-to-search-bar/ and Organize Search Engines https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/organize-search-engines/
Thanks to the author also! :-)
I'm back using this now, excellent Addon, thanks to the author.
I stopped using it as it never really allowed the menu to errr... stay open as one would expect in Windows. Now though dragging/dropping and moving bookmarks is almost perfect. Also the option to reopen menus after changing properties is a great idea! Wow, would never of thought of that.
Thank you again for your hard work! :-)
I mentioned this had stopped working on Play.com (or Play.com was at fault to be accurate) but I found a workaround. There's several sites this seems not to work on but I've found workarounds too after a little bit of thought. Maybe people can post their workarounds? I find going to the website's advanced search sections gives you more of a chance too.
For Play.com I just went to http://www.play.com/HOME/HOME/6-/LandingPage.html?page=playtradealt&produc
t=dvd and used the first search box. The results show everything with that name and then you can click the item you want. You could alter things of course.
Someone said Priceminister.com doesn't work. Easy to workaround. Go to the UPC (code)/Titre box (looks like this: http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/3035/50632502.png ) and right click Add to Search Bar from there. You can make other changes too.
I have over 100 of my own 'search engines' and they're invaluable with Organize Search Engines https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/organize-search-engines/ and Context Search https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/context-search/ as they're all in the context (right click) menu. Organize Search Engines allows you to add folders, edit etc (same author as Add to Search Bar so you know how good it will be).
Also, if you use Google Translate (http://translate.google.com) or currency sites you can set up automatic translation and currency too -in fact anything where you enter text and press 'search' or 'OK' to get a result or answer normally. I've even used it to force Google Images to show the simple version with a URL like http://www.google.com/images?q=house&sout=1&biw=1912&bih=924 -right click the search area/form entry as normal. So in future when you search a Google image it will land on that type of page design with your search term.
So, to search/convert/translate from your context (right click like this http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/7685/86060386.png ) just highlight any text on any website, right click and away you go! No fingers needed (although I'd not recommend removing them).
VERY powerful search Addon.
Post your workarounds, fixes and tips! :-)
[using Firefox 3.6.16]
This is still working on most sites (invaluable!) but I've noticed more and more sites it's not working (eg play.com).This is unfortunate as it looks like those sites have so much garbage running with Google etc scripts it's breaking this Addon's code.Hopefully we can have an update soon if the author can afford the time :-)
BTW, this becomes REALLY powerful when used with Context Search https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/240
Perfect with https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-to-search-bar/ and BTW, this becomes REALLY powerful when used with Context Search https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/240
Hopefully this Addon will live for a lot longer as it's a must-have if you like searching -which is what the Web is all about. Thanks again for your work! :-)
Cool, thanks for the uopdate :) This is a very handy Addon, thank you.
For the new version you can just import a text file with something like this:
[Adblock Plus Pop-up Addon]
Paste that into a text file and save it with a name like 'Adblock popup export URLs' etc.
Just change the text on the file to suit your own blocked URLs. Then go into Options and import the file you saved.
Very nice works very well, thanks. One thing I'd like is to be able to extend the length of the text that can be *seen* in the context (field length).
If people want (and they should) backup then just go into the Profile and select all/copy/paste into Notepad or Word and save the file. Easily pasted back into InFormEnter later. Just be careful where you store private date ;-)
Hopefully this will be updated when needed. If you want to make it "compatible" (it should still work even though you get that message) then use MR Tech Toolkit https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/421/ which allows you to "Make All Compatible" inside Tools within Addons. Just restart FF and sorted.
If anyone knows of a way to extend the context menu box width please post the info. There used to be away to do it in much older Firefox but it doesn't seem to work any more.
Thank you to the author for the wonderful Addon! Very nice.
Would be great if there was also a version (or the user could add a URL) for other sites, especially eBay eg http://img21.imageshack.us/img21/1098/ebayimagesize.png
Thank you again.
This disables Context Search provided by https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/240 When I say disable, no search appears at all in a new tab. Nothing. However an easy fix for this is to make sure you have the Firefox Search showing in the Toolbar area (always removed it in the past but after reading all the reviews here for a fix I realised that was the problem -thanks to S3NTYN3L).
Also try the author's excellent Add To Search Bar https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3682 (a REAL revolution to searching!).
Read ALL the reviews as you may find a fix that works for you.
It may be broke but it still gets 4 stars from me.
Nice, thanks for the work.
Would be really good if it could pick up the search engines (all user generated easily) from the excellent Add to Search Bar https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3682
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6).
Sadly this disables Context Search provided by https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/240 When I say disable, no search appears at all in a new tab. Nothing.
Good idea though if I can get it to work with your excellent Add To Search Bar https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3682
I only use Search from within the context menu as it's VERY quick.
Brilliant Addon. Thanks for the hard work! :-)This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.0).
Excellent Addon, thank you for your work :-)
One item I wish for is to "Paste and Go" in search boxes with sites or forms like the made-up image http://img263.imageshack.us/img263/905/pasteandgo.png
Is that possible (to save entering 'enter') or does anyone know of an Addon that allows this?
This has been a great Addon -one thing (always one!) it would be good to be able to change the "Registered Editor". I use Paint.exe from XP on my Win7 and although everything else goes there (it's default) Snapper finds Win7's mspaint.exe. Problem is Win7 stores this even though I've 'deleted' it and over written it.
And Snapper ALWAYS thinks mspaint.exe is the registered editor -even if it's not (ie I set it to Photoshop).
