Hoxx VPN Proxy

Great, but... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Like all good things it will not last. Like ZenMate was good at first, lured lots of people in, then one day... no more free.

Classic Theme Restorer

Good but... Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Good addon in that it keeps FF looking like I want it to. But have had a major problem in that after exiting FF, FF would keep running in the background and consuming memory continuously until it would crash. At times if I start FF it may say it is already running. By process of elimination and disabling all addons, I narrowed it down to this addon. But have found that after disabling all about-config options in the advanced tab, the problem was solved. Happy that it was resolvable or I would have had to do without it.

BlockSite Plus

Quick access button? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works great, but wish there was a button on toolbar for quick access.

Change Profile's Window Icons

Brilliant! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Searched quite a bit how to do this which took me to the stackoverflow.com site where it was explained and with the link to this addon. Much thanks!

BlockSite

Useless Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I right-clicked on the site I wanted to block and it blocked it... as well as everything else. Only ONE SITE is on the blacklist so why the hell is everything else also being blocked??!!

Download Status Bar

Good job. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Vastly improved over the earlier versions when FF26 was released. Well done.

SpeedFox

Options? Explanation? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

When I saw there were no options nor any explanation to how this addon 'speeds up' firefox, I uninstalled it. I need to know, does it pre-fetch links, pipeline connections, DNS tweaks, how and what does it exactly do? Since not all methods of speeding up are desirable or applicable to all situations, I would like to choose which of these features to use or disable. But since no explanation or options, no point in using it for me.

BlockSite

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Seems to work for me, but I'm looking for an alternative. I want an addon where I can right-click on the page to block rather than 1) open addons, 2) open blocksite) 3) click add, 4) copy-paste url, 5)close blocksite, 6) close addons. What an unnecessary waste of steps and time to do a simple thing!

Undo Bookmarks Menu

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks. Cant understand why this simple function is not available in Firefox.

Toolbar Buttons

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Seems to work fine here. And for those not too bright to figure it out, this is NOT a toolbar and does not come with incredimail, lol. These are simply buttons which you can drag onto the toolbar. To assume that this would 'freeze' a computer is ludicrous. There are no running processes associated with the buttons to even remotely do that.

LeechBlock

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

All I wanted to do was block certain spam sites for good with a quick right click > block. Doesnt seem to have that option, or if it does, must wade through tabs and pages of options to look for it. Atm have to enter the site name in the hosts file. Just cant understand why this addon which seems to have every conceivable option to block sites by duration, day, hour etc is lacking the simplest of all functions, block a site for good with a simple one step right click. (emphasis on quick, one step).

BabelFish Instant Translation

Previous version was far better Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Previous version was good. 1.93 has become terrible in use. When you select detect language, it will do so. But when you select translate, it will not use the language detected, but use the previous language you last used. So I must go to the tray icon and select the language rather than it being done automatically per detect as in the last version. Furthermore, if you dont have that language, you must go into options and add it. So many steps and clicks to do a simple thing. I have uninstalled this addon for now as its too inconvenient to use in it present state. Its a big step back from previous version.

Wikipedia Lookup Add-on

Infinite tabs bug Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I confirm the bug that the previous poster mentioned. This add-on opens infinite tabs, even when not using it. Just coping text on any web-page can trigger it, although it happens randomly, not every time. Have uninstalled it for now.
