PassIFox

no workie Rated 1 out of 5 stars

dont know if it because keepassfox doesnt uninstall itself

Sage

update - lousy support Rated 2 out of 5 stars

While I have nothing against this addon except for the fact that it relies on Bookmarks to store feed, so like all other FF RSS addons, it too chokes (makes FF hang) with FF sync.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.4).  This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Brief

Nothing against this addon, but using FF BMs for feeds sucks due to sync. Rated 3 out of 5 stars

tl;dr; ? go right below for latest update

While I have nothing against this addon except for the fact that it relies on Bookmarks to store feed, so like all other FF RSS addons, it too chokes (makes FF hang) with FF sync.

Update - Based on Denis's response, I will test this addon again more and update. Always like it when a dev responds to show they care :)

Coming from Chrome, I loved FeedBro, which I dont think uses BMs, but SQLLite I think, and was looking for a non BM-based RSS feed mainly for performance reasons and the fact that it doesnt have to be a live BM at all !

Update #2: So I re-installed, looking GREAT so far, very neat and simplistic presentation (the list view - work friendly!)

Just wonder whats the deal with the amount of real estate - but I just peeked again and saw there was a CSS way to customize, hopefully I can get rid of the ugly fat margins.

+star for OPML integration - I was a bit concerned it would be time consuming to enter it all over again as in other RSS addons - not here..it was a breeze.

There were some fancy readers (Feedly?) which would auto detect RSS without us having to go exactly to the RSS page, not so with the rest, including this, had to manualy search for the RSS feed page, as the 'Subscribe with RSS' in BMs never showed for any. So the OPML was a nice feature.

(Apart from most sites making it a pain to find the RSS feeds, worst offenders are Onion & Amazon Deals unless I am totally missing something in the world of RSS)

Updating to 4 star, keeping one as I have to do the formatting pain myself :( - but if it is painless will of course be back to add another !

HAVE to add here that Its a relief not being stuck with SeaMonkey which has the next best (simplest & work-friendly) RSS Reader

OMG...its so painful to set list view in each and EVERY Feed..I dont care - its a one time thing - but whats the deal with the 'Organize' button ? Shows nothing.

Also I hope the Feeds (BMs) and settings are SHARED across desktops otherwise it would be a Sage-like experience having to re-click everything (thats where Chrome shines with seamless sync of extension settings (as they are not treated like second-class citizens!)

UPDATE: So at home I noticed FF hanging again, so I uninstalled. Now at work I installed but was very disappointed that it duplicates BM folders. Sage at least had a way to set which folder to use, but all-in-all I guess this venture with FF RSS Readers is a HUGE disappointment because they tend to use the BMs (which freeze the comp or FF while syncing, maybe because they are so huge or just get confused)

Why cant FF RSS Addons be more like FeedBro for Chrome :(

Sea Fox

Did not work Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Had a lot of hope in this to provide all that it said, all I saw under options were two checkboxes for hide Mail (which worked) and rearrange - which I dont know what it achieved as I ahad already rearranged..will gladly give stars if it does work for 2.46

Sage

the best rss reader for FF! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I like this addon for its simplicity, and the fact that we can actually use it at work as it blocks images via html tags - very smart. I only wish we can tabulate the right pane as a simple list. Whats even better in using this is the fact that we can work on the right pane while browsing feeds on left since they are just bookmarks.

I got over the fact that it duplicates bm folders by just making it point to the other bm folder. I think many users were gnarled before this ability.

Coming from Chrome and FeedBro, this was a godsend as there are no other RSS readers even worth their salt in following the KISS paradigm.

Update - just removed one star as I noticed clicking on a another RSS feed header unnecessarily pulls feed contents into right pane. Will gladly put back the star and donate if we can avoid this (clicking on RSS header should only change contents of left bottom pane) and have a list view of right pane when a (new) button on main pane is pressed, and should open rss details on right only when rss record is double clicked.

Simple RSS Reader (SRR)

Doesnt work Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Weird addon. Dumped another toolbar, and claimed 'no rss feed' for major sites.

Show Keyword

Almost there ! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very disappointed that an open source foundation like Mozilla could bow down to corporate pressure by disabling the keyword in bookmarks so they could make more money with their stupid inbuilt search engines. This addon will be complete if the ability to list keyword column (which just disappeared on me yesterday) could be shown again.

Notepad (QuickFox)

Crap Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Was thinking of making the switch to FF yet again, and this seemed a handy way to sync notes, also installed XMarks because the dev insisted (be careful w XMarks - sync'd bms are public by default); did not sync at all in spite of forcing syncs; and lost many notes in the process. Back to a more reliable browser eco system - chrome with Text.

FF always had issues with sync, this time around with latest versions, nothing sync'd in 2 days, maybe bcoz they are migrating. Whatever, had it FF this time around.

Forecastfox (fix version)

Got it working - was looking in wrong place ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Since we cannot edit/delete reviews I am writing another one; the icons defaulted to bottom which I didnt notice, and this was after uninstall ! Told the developer about this. Hope they show max-min temps in a future release!

Forecastfox (fix version)

Cannot see the icon Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Other weather apps nicely added an icon in toolbar, this one didn't. Will change rating once I can see it. FF 47. No way to access addon.

Weather Underground (Forecast Plus)

Revert Keyword Column

Only reason for sticking on to FF Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I had quit FF when they removed Keyword support years back; I hate Chrome because they are so opinionated;
Why do some idiot devs decide hey since we aren't smart enough to use keywords, lets get rid of it ?? The only reason we support FF is it is more user oriented and if you keep discarding features like this you will lose users too.

Show Keyword

yucck Rated 4 out of 5 stars

finally...an addon instead of messing around with the css, so it can be synced across computers, which the idi0ts at mozilla removed marking the very downfall of FF. The keyword feature was what remarkably differentiated it from Chrome & IE and some incompetent team decided to hide it. - Realize now the 'incompetency' was instead for financial reasons, like other greedy browsers.

Open Link in New Tab

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I had wanted this mainly to open links from a search screen (POST) so that the back button doesn't crap out. Not much use without that.
It then started to open every single link in new tabs.
For example, the application I am using is JIRA, so the results in the search are within the same domain etc.
Otherwise a well-written app.

Firefox Sync for Firefox 3.5/3.6

Xmarks puh-leease Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I have tried to get this addon to work time and again, as I would trust a Mozilla addon more than any other...but this truly is a BADly written addon, never works at times. Throw it out the window and please absorb XMarks which is flawless.
Does Mozdev read these reviews ??
I am pasting this review again as my previous review got lost..didn't know older reviews are hidden !
And I was comparing Firefox Sync to Google Browser Sync, both are crap.
Finally I guess Mozilla would tie their shoe laces on this, which they have been taking so lightly.
For the people who gave us a portable browser, shouldn't they have spruced up the sync stuff ?

I have also tried MS Live Mesh to sync all my Firefox instances across many machines, but it craps out as only one user can be profiled in a folder at any given time. Also Mesh was a ridiculous resource hog.
Then I tried Dropbox, and I read about someone saying to just sync the bookmark.htm file...problem with these sync apps is that you sync folders, not files. If someone has a ggood way of Sync'ing using Dropbox, please let us know, at least until Dropbox files bankruptcy.

Firefox Sync for Firefox 3.5/3.6

How strange isn´t it that Google doesn´t buy Xmarks? Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Toodledo

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Unusable in the two attempts I have made. This addon doesn't do anything (does not add a task at all)
What a waste of time for a very basic bug, unfixed for many months.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.70).

AniWeather

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

just looks nice. apart from that there is no sync between the actual weather.com numbers and what this shows in the pop-up. When the FF client of a website can't see eye to eye, don't see any use for this. btw, all the weather forecasts from all sites are bogus for the most part.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.7.4).

Duplicate Tab

bring this back ! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I would definitely prefer this to FF3's way of ctrl + mouse to tab area which works like crap.

Gonna try to edit the rdf. Never understood why the heck extension developers limit their target versions like this when they dont even know what the changes will be in the next version and this involuntarily render itself useless.
