A very simple epub reader, with 1 MASSIVE flaw...if you try to open more than 1 book, they all load in the same tab! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (220.127.116.11).
Exactly what I was looking for. Works perfectly. AND it's restartless! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.6.3).
This is a fantastic little extension for those of us who have read the description and are using it properly. The description currently states: "Help Mozilla make sure your favorite add-ons get updated for upcoming Firefox releases by using this extension to report whether they still work or are having some issues with alpha and beta releases. Note: Recommended for alpha and beta users only!" In other words, they emphasise THREE TIMES that this add-on is NOT designed for use in current versions of Firefox!
If you really want to make all your extensions work, and you've used about:config before, make a new Boolean pref called extensions.checkCompatibility.7.0 and set it to false. Every 6 weeks, make a new one with the version number incremented (e.g., the next is extensions.checkCompatibility.8.0). Try reading http://kb.mozillazine.org/Updating_add-ons for more info.
Using the "experimental" v. 1.2.2 with Fx 7.0b2 and it works perfectly as always.
I do still miss the "!important" adding, and would also love a sync option.
I love faviconize. The new behavioiur in Fx6 annoys me too, but don't blame the developer. The reason it's doing this is the following bugfix: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465086. If they ever implement https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=667607, everything will go back to normal. So go to that request and vote for it!!! FYI, apparently TabUtils has a way to disable this behaviour. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.5). This user has a previous review of this add-on.
In Firefox 7 (beta), the colour reverts to orange after a system restart. Please fix!
This add-on's name is incredibly misleading.
This app makes surfing a bit simpler if you are often looking up definitions, etc. However, it does NOT make Firefox faster.
Indeed, it slows down Firefox so significantly that it is #5 in Mozilla's "Slow-Performing Add-Ons" list (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/performance/#addon-11).
Apparently this used to be called SmarterFox. That's a much more appropriate title, or perhaps "EasyFox", something like that.
This has been a must-have extension for me for years. Unfortunately, as another user has pointed out, it conflicts with the popular extension Stratiform -- it just causes the name to disappear and shrinks the tab only a teeny bit. Please look into this! This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.4).
With version 2.2, when you bypassed the add-on and tried to load the PDF file in the browser itself, it always loaded it in a DIFFERENT tab. An earlier review says the tab it used is the first tab in the first window; I haven't found that it's always that particular tab, but it's certainly NEVER the right one.
Version 3.0 fixed this...by removing the option completely. The creators claim that "open PDF" and "bypass PDF download" did the same thing. They most certainly did not. Furthermore, they claim that clicking their new logo on the status bar offers the same functionality. It does not, though it does take up a chunk of valuable statusbar space.
I've now uninstalled this. What's the point of installing a bloated extension when the one useful functionality of it has been removed.
For the most part, I absolutely love this theme!
My 1 problem is with the back button. With FF3.0, there's that big back icon. Usually, the solution is to set the "small icons" option, which changes only that button. Of course, with this theme, it does a lot more than that! I find the tiny icons are just too teeny for my taste, but am then stuck with the stick-out back button. I'm wondering if you could maybe design a back button that's the same size as the forward button, so all the "normal" icon sizes are streamlined, and then allow that option to be turned on using CSS....? Otherwise, it's fantastic!
I absolutely love this theme! My only complaint is about the back button. With 3.0+, "normal" size icons always have that big back button. The solution is to switch to small icons, and that's usually the only change. Of course, with this theme, that's NOT the only change! The tiny icons are just too tiny for my tastes, and I like the size of the regular ones, except the back button. Would it be possible to make a back button that is the same size as the forward button and then be able to turn that icon on using CSS....?? So, the default would still be the big one, but the tweak would replace that big icon with an icon the same size as the "normal" icons here.
Otherwise, this theme is wonderfully space-saving!
oh, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for upgrading this!!!This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.2.6).
