Working perfectly for me with the latest Firefox version Rated 5 out of 5 stars
By default all Google translation opens up in a new tab. That is the way I like it. That can be changed in the addon's options. Right-click any page to translate it via the link in the context menu. Or select text first and click the relevant link in the context menu. The translation icon at the top of the Firefox window is also working fine for translating full pages. That icon can be moved around via Firefox customization (right-click the top of Firefox, and click "customize" in the context menu). In the past that icon sometimes did not show up right away after installation, and only showed up after restarting Firefox. So if problems, try restarting Firefox to see if it helps.This user has 4 previous reviews of this add-on.
Doesn't work right currently. Someone should maintain SortPlaces instead Rated 1 out of 5 stars
I have a zillion bookmarks. I waited almost 3 minutes for the ball to stop twirling. And then noticed that the top level folders were not in alphabetical order. I wish someone would take up SortPlaces and maintain it. It works great, but Mozilla no longer allows the disabling of the requirement for extension signatures, and so I can no longer use it. It would alphabetize my bookmarks in 10 to 15 seconds.This user has a previous review of this add-on.
This caused the Add-ons link in the tools menu to only open in the sidebar. Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Bookmarks in the sidebar is great. But after I put the addons icon up there too, then I could no longer click the addons link in the tools menu to see it on the full page. It only showed up in the sidebar.
So I had to uninstall this. That was difficult. Had to use safe mode to do so.
Version 3.5.0 is working fine for me Rated 5 out of 5 stars
It looks like the problems have been fixed. Translation link shows up in the context menu when text has been selected for translation. And full page translation is working for me too.This user has other reviews of this add-on.
Works great now Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Google translation stopped working temporarily for me, but it works great now. For text translations I think maybe Google Translate got tired of me using their service so much while testing various Firefox translation addons today. As for voice use I have to turn off FlashBlock temporarily if I want to use Google Translate Voice. As the instructions say it only works correctly for pronouncing English words. Google Translation of text is again working fine after closing all browser windows, and restarting. I have my settings and addons configured so that restarting gets rid of all unwanted cookies and super-cookies, and so Google does not remember my past use today.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.3.0). Translation links in context menu disappeared in beta version Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Beta version was working. But not now. Also, at the very top it says: "Translate the whole entire page or just a selection using Google Translate." If you can't add a link there to the beta version I suggest adding this there: "See the 'About this Add-on' section below for a link to the beta version that fixes compatibility with Firefox 40 and above." The beta version was working fine for me. Most people are not going to try it though because it is not mentioned at the very top. So they try the old version at the top ('Add to Firefox'), see that it does not work, and see the many bad reviews below. Then many or most give up. While this is getting fixed I am using the "Translate Now" addon.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (22.214.171.124-signed). This user has other reviews of this add-on.
Translating selected text is not working for me Rated 2 out of 5 stars
Translating whole pages is working for me. Translating selected text is not working; whether I right click, or use the icon (after changing option so that the icon is always supposed to translate only selected text). I am using Firefox v27.0.1. For those who are having the same problem and need an alternative, the "Translate This!" addon is working fine for me.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (126.96.36.199.1-signed.1-signed).
I use this in combination with the "Translate This!" addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Quick Translator is great for translating selected text quickly in a small popup window. Unfortunately, it translates whole pages in the same tab. So I use this in combination with the "Translate This!" addon since it will translate whole pages in a new tab. In the options for Quick Translator uncheck "show status bar icon". Restart Firefox. Now the only thing that shows up in the status bar is the "Translate This!" icon. Use it for whole-page translations in a new tab.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.0.1-signed).
Great because there is option to open in new tab Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Unlike some other Google translation addons this one has a setting to "Open translations in new tab". I do not like covering up the page I am trying to translate.
The "About this Add-on" info needs to be updated to indicate that "no restart" is only for initiating translation via the context menu. To get the translation button to work one has to restart Firefox. Then the translation button works.

There is no way in options to only set a language to translate into. In nearly all cases I want all languages translated into English. But the settings will not allow this. One must choose a language to translate from too. I am frequently amazed at how often developers are clueless about the interface of their software.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (7.1.1-signed).
Great for deleting all bookmark icons (favicons). Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Thanks for this addon. For people with many bookmarks, it makes for much smaller bookmark backup files. It comes in handy when I reinstall Firefox, and forget to block favicons. I just used this in Firefox 23.0.1 for deleting all bookmark icons. Here is how: After installing this addon click "Show all bookmarks" from the Bookmarks menu. Then "Delete all site icons" from the "Organize" menu. It works almost instantly. To prevent new favicons see info here:
http://www.ghacks.net/2009/05/11/how-to-remove-favicons-in-firefox-bookmarks - info from that page: To prevent new favicons go to about:config and change the three parameters below to the following values.
* browser.chrome.favicons - False.
* browser.chrome.image_icons.max_size - 0.
* browser.chrome.site_icon - False.
All the above info needs to be put in "About this Add-on". Developers need to explain how things work, or many people will not bother to try out their great work. I have not tried this addon out for deleting a single favicon, and so I can not verify if that works or not. Feel free to delete my previous review with the no-longer-working link.

It takes almost 2 minutes to sort my bookmarks. Each time I use it. Including when I launch Firefox. To prevent this shock at first use the auto-sort option should be turned off by default. I have almost 15 megabytes of bookmarks in my .json backup file. I have all my bookmarks since around 1998 (don't remember year for sure). :) There is a modified version of the SortPlaces addon that works for me with Firefox version 22:
http://daniel-lange.com/software/sortplaces-1.9.2B-sm+fx.xpi - it continues to sort all my bookmarks in less than 8 seconds. There is more info on it farther down the page here:
http://daniel-lange.com/archives/71-SyncPlaces,-SortPlaces-...-preserving-these-and-other-excellent-Firefox-add-ons.html - SortPlaces is open source and can be freely modified and distributed. Maybe you can combine Auto-Sort and SortPlaces, or just take over SortPlaces under the Auto-Sort name. Give credit of course to the original developer too.
Scrolling down the list Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Works great. In reply to another reviewer's problem: Click the select all button again if you scroll further down the list. Worked for me as I kept scrolling down the list.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.rev18).

I have long wished for a one-click way to toggle find on and off. This is exactly what I wanted. Thanks! I think you need a little more info in the topmost description so that people see what this addon is about: "Can drag button to other locations." Many people may not make it to the details in the "About this Add-on" if they do not understand that it can be moved around.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (188.8.131.52-signed.1-signed).
Works almost instantly in Firefox 15.0.1 Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Works almost instantly in Firefox 15.0.1 to remove them all. This will delete all bookmark icons (favicons), or just one. Click "Show all bookmarks" from the Bookmarks menu. Then "Delete all site icons" from the "Organize" menu. It works almost instantly. Can uninstall addon after using it. To prevent new favicons see:
Working great overall, but a problem remains. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
It is working great in Firefox 15.0.1 for the most part. One problem that happens from time to time is that when translating a selection the text is copied over in ASCII or whatever it is called. Where blank spaces are replaced with %20, and accented characters with other % stuff. Here is an example of a line of Portuguese: Eu%20tinha%20esquecido%20desses%20problemas%20de%20conflito%20de%20edi%C3%A7%C3%A3o. It does not happen all the time with Portuguese or any language. Even with different text selected from the same page. When this happens Google does not translate the text. There is nothing in the right-side pane.This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.9.1-signed).
It works fine. Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Thanks for this addon! It works fine in Firefox 13.0.1. By the way, Mozilla.org, this is really dumb: "Please do not post bug reports in reviews. We do not make your email address available to add-on developers." People are not going to create dozens of registrations for all the addons they use in order to make bug reports. So allow us reviewers to choose to make our email address available privately to developers.

The site search works fine, but the toolbar does not remember its setting. When I click "hide" it does not stay hidden. When I open up new windows the toolbar is back. Even though I had it unchecked in the view menu too. I suggest creating an on-off button (as with FlashBlock) to open and close the toolbar.
Great potential but needs work Rated 3 out of 5 stars
This could be a great popular addon because Google toolbar is no longer allowed on Firefox. I stopped using this though because it is too confusing to use. I can never remember which button to click. I can never remember what to click to get it to open in a new tab. So I end up never using it. I prefer simplicity. There needs to be an option to set it to always open the search results list in a new tab. From simple left clicks. The icon for site search needs to be more different. Maybe add "SS" to the button. For "Site Search".This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1.1-signed).
Worked fine in Firefox 6 Rated 5 out of 5 stars
I am using Firefox 6 and this add-on worked fine in removing all the bookmark icons (also called favicons). Thanks! The about:config settings for preventing new bookmark icons can be found here: http://www.ghacks.net/2009/05/11/how-to-remove-favicons-in-firefox-bookmarksThis review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.1-signed).
