My Reviews

Proxy Mobile

Latest (0.0.10) available on developer's website Rated 2 out of 5 stars

The latest version, currently 0.0.10, is available directly from the developer's website, and works with the latest FF for Android.

Network Preferences Add-on

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Does precisely what I needed. This lightweight add-on reveals Firefox proxy settings so I can use services such as I2P.

Quick Web Search

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just what I needed, especially now that Thunderbird has lost the ability to use Google natively.

I appreciate the fact that this uses the default WEB BROWSER to search, rather than an embedded tab in Thunderbird. I use TB for mail and FF (or Chrome) for Web browsing.

Chrome View

Does the deed! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Does exactly what it purports to do. Well done.

Wishlist: Add Chrome icon to right-click menu entry.

Plus One Button

Works well. Be sure to add NoScript exception for schloebe.de Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is an excellent add-on, in theory. Unfortunately, it's not working in my setup (FF 7.0.1, 32-bit WinXP). When I click the + in the address bar, I get a blank, white rectangle with a "busy" circle rotating indefinitely.

I'm currently using a bookmarklet for this functionality, but would love to see this add-on work for me.

+01:00 Update: After adding an explicit exception in NoScript for schloebe.de, this add-on works perfectly. Thanks for the awesome support!

Wishlist: After the +1 vote, allow user to "Share on Google+", similar to how the embedded widget works on other websites (eg. cnet.com).

Ghostery

Compliments AdBlock Plus and NoScript well Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Just like NoScript, allowing Ghostery to block everything all the time can cause some strange problems on certain websites. However, after careful tuning using a combination of whitelisting and selectively allowing web bugs, one can very accurately control privacy on almost all websites.Ghostery is a fine -- and highly recommended -- addition to your privacy toolbox, and nicely compliments AdBlock Plus, NoScript, WOT and Perspectives to keep the interwebs slightly less unsafe.

Dafizilla ViewSourceWith

Just what the doctor ordered Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This simple, yet powerful add-on is perfect for many purposes. Source can be "viewed" with any application, so it's not just limited to viewing HTML source. Send embedded images to Photoshop. Override Firefox's assumption (or the website's MIME info) about a link by sending it directly to Word/Excel/PowerPoint. View CSS in Dreamweaver. Even "view" a page in an alternate browser (sacrilegious, I know).

Firesizer

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Perfect add-on for both Firefox and Thunderbird. Just the thing for we "Type A" personalities that desire and require windows to be positioned and sized deterministically.

Works with Thunderbird 6 just fine. Simply massage the install.rdf appropriately.

Start Google Plus

High CPU utilization issue gone Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Minor Update: After uninstalling and reinstalling this add-on, my high CPU utilization issue seems to have disappeared. Upgrading rating to 5 stars.

Start Google Plus

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

A great start with some seriously useful functionality. I had two issues with this add-on:

1) High CPU utilization when browsing to plus.google.com
2) My Twitter feed massively overshadowed my meager G+ feed. Moving it to Sparks helped, but of course defeated the purpose.

SkipScreen -- Great Multi-Host download helper!

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Doesn't seem to accelerate or recognize RapidShare downloads at all. Perhaps RapidShare updated their website to protect against SkipScreen (again)?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.5.21amo).

Unlinker

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Works great in FF 4.0 with the Add-on Compatibility Reporter telling it to ignore version checking. Should be a simple change to update the install.rdf.

Ghostery

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Excellent add-on for keeping those nosy analytics sites from tracking your every move on the 'Net. With a few quick, minor tweaks to the preferences (to allow the "bugs" I like), I've been using it for days with stellar success.

Install this add-on immediately if you care about your browsing privacy. Note that Ghostery doesn't protect your _data_ privacy (eg. SSL, MiTM, etc.), but does protect against most of the ways Big Brother tracks your every move.

SU WYSIWYG Editor

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

The SU Editor just keeps getting better and better. I've followed this editor since it's humble beginnings as an SU v3 Greasemonkey script. This FF add-on version is the most robust yet.

Minor suggestion: The "SUEditor is On" icon in the status bar takes up a bit too much room. Maybe you can reduce it to an icon for v0.0.4?

Location Increment

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Works as documented, and (unofficially) works with Firefox 4.0 Beta. Location Increment isn't as fully featured as URL Flipper, but does get the job done for most simple URLs.

Status-4-Evar

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is the perfect transitional add-on for us Firefox users that fear and distrust change. Works really well.

TortoiseSVN Menu

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is an exceedingly handy add-on for TortoiseSVN users using Firefox. Amazingly, it still works in Firefox 4.0b6 (in compatibility mode)!

Scriptish

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I missed Greasemonkey SO MUCH after upgrading to Firefox 4.0. Scriptish is a godsend. Now that I've spent time with Scriptish, I'm kinda wishing it was available for Firefox 3.x.

Well done!

StumbleUpon

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This is an *excellent* add-on for StumbleUpon users. It keeps all common tasks very conveniently located in a StumbleUpon toolbar that can be displayed or hidden with a hotkey.

I miss this add-on terribly after upgrading to Firefox 4.0b6. While the add-on seems to function, it causes other extensions' toolbar buttons to disappear. I can't wait for official support for Firefox 4.0.
