My Reviews

Custom Tab Width

Do encourage the maintenance of this extension Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I participated in the discussion cited by thenonhacker, and disagree with the decision taken there. However, I view it as a Mozilla-level decision to break this functionality and not go to the bother of fixing it. If Mozilla were more responsive to the demands of its users, this would have been fixed before Fx 5.

As the dev directly responsible, Gottwald went above the call of duty by making this add-on. Anyway, rate the extension (which is obviously useful) not the developer.

Firefox Sync for Firefox 3.5/3.6

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I prefer Xmarks' tab and bookmark backup, and don't want my stuff tied to my using Firefox (as opposed to another browser). From the description above, it seems to lack online access (e.g., my.xmarks.com), selective loading of bookmarks, and saving tabs from different devices separately.

This should not be a default feature of Firefox 4.

Google Docs Viewer (PDF, DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, etc...)

Very useful, especially now that the tech folk at work have broken the Acrobat plugin.

Feature request: I'd like to see this appear in the context menu for links I have bookmarked (whether in the bookmark toolbar or bookmark menu).

Silvermel

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

BUG (yeah, I know you'd like me not to post them here): the download window does not recognize when I've downloaded two files with the same name.

For example, if I download "blah.pdf" and then another file also called "blah.pdf" the second is transformed into "blah-2.pdf" when Firefox downloads it. But when I click it in Silvermel's downloads window, I open the wrong file because Silvermel has attached the name "blah.pdf".

Xmarks Sync

Best add-on ever. Saves me a lot of time; without it I'd have to keep track of stuff by sending myself emails or storing info on my USB. Also, new (optional) features are added all the time!

Sorry for posting a BUG here. I don't want to set up another account for the forums.

BUG -- the RSS feed icon in the search bar is missing as of 3.6.6. I had to revert to the default theme. I'm glad to see that you're keeping this updated.

I'd like to see a middle-click to open in a new tab. Otherwise, looking good!

Looks to be a very useful addition to my current selection (Flashblock and Foxmarks); and it's essential now that iGoogle is broken. Cool that it comes in other languages, too!
