About this Add-on
This extension enables users to see the entire webpage in their sidebar and easily designate part or all of the web page for image capture that can then be saved to disk in either PNG, BMP, JPEG or PPM format. An option is also provided to save a reduced size image of the entire webpage to disk.
See the built-in Help option for full details of the available options. If you click on the preview image above you will can read the contents of the Help panel.
This extension uses the HTML5 canvas element so it will not work on versions of Firefox earlier than 3.0. It has been tested on Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Red Hat Linux and Fedora 12. It should work on all Unix and GNU/Linux platforms. It should also work on a Mac without modification but I have not tested it on that platform.
I have included the Inkscape SVG sources for the various icons and buttons used in the extension so that you can modify them if you wish to for your particular platform and theme.
Added support for saving images in PPM format. This is probably more useful on GNU/Linux and Unix platforms than on Microsoft Windows. Fixed problem with accessing options from Add-ons list. Added key option Ctrl-Alt-L to reload webpage. Useful if you close the tab which WIPS is currently displaying. Added BLACK and WHITE to list of bounding rectangle colors. Added locales for zn-CH (Simplified Chinese), en-GB (British English) and pt-BR (Brazilian).
