No More Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Years ago this had the potential to revolutionize browser history but it was seriously lacking and apparently abandoned.

Although some others below have some (possible?) fixes that is too much work for something that did so little to begin with. I have asked my beta-testers and none of them had used it more than once- and I hadn't used it in ages either. That sealed the deal.

Problems trying edit, updated Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thanks for your assistance, SCY--I successfully downloaded and installed the version you uploaded. I did have my .xpi file compressed in zip format, but no matter what I could not get it to install properly. So I appreciate the work you did to help me. :)

Comparing mine to the file structure image your provided, I see a difference: next to chrome.manifest I don't have the blank/white page file icon (not sure what it's formally called?) but rather a blank/gray computer screen image (again, don't know the official name for it).

When I checked its file type, I saw that it's a Unix Executable File. (It was like that from the start, after I first extracted the source code file.) What type of file SHOULD it be? That might be what was causing my problem.

SCY, I've tried to do what you suggested to get this up and running once more, but I'm stuck on step 5. Instead of installing the .xpi file, Firefox simply opens an endless string of windows asking if I'd like to open the file with Firefox or save it (i.e. I click OK, it opens a new window and asks again, ad infinitum). What might I be doing wrong, and what can I try to get the installation to work?

To all Firefox 20+ users Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Because of Firefox 20 introduced per-window private browsing mode. So the old API was discreated.
See https://developer.mozilla.org/EN/docs/Supporting_per-window_private_browsing

How to solve the problem:
1. Download source code from https://github.com/littlebtc/voyage that was uploaded by author.
2. Extract zip file and open {source folder}/content/voyage.js
3. Find code at line 29, 30:
line 29: var privateSvc = Cc["@mozilla.org/privatebrowsing;1"].getService(Ci.nsIPrivateBrowsingService);
line 30: this.inPrivate = privateSvc.privateBrowsingEnabled;
And replace to:
line 29: var privateSvc = Components.utils.import("resource://gre/modules/PrivateBrowsingUtils.jsm");
line 30: this.inPrivate = PrivateBrowsingUtils.isWindowPrivate(window);
4. Compress all file in the {source folder} use zip file format. Change extension from .zip to .xpi. (Or you can use this shell script http://sharetext.org/iQr to create a XPI file. I copied the shell script from author's other add-on NicoFox and modified it.)
5. Install XPI to Firefox.
6. Congratulation!!

Test on Firefox from 27.0b2 to 31.0b1 (Update on 2014.06.11)
Build .xpi file under Mac OS X 10.9.3 with shell script.

Good add-on, but two questions...

1-How can I hide/move "Media Wall" section to other position e.g. Top from Bottom?
2- How can I copy/export the history pane of specific day to an external HTML file??

Awesome add-on! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love this add-on. Very creative approach with solid execution. It'd be nice to be able to see change viewing preferences so the lines connecting viewed pages show by default, even when not rolled over, but it's great all around.

I rarely comment, but finally someone has made a usable extension for viewing history. This brings history back to usability again ! THANK YOU !

Thank you! This is amazing.

An option to make the time start on the left and increase time to the right would be great. I use it to retrace time I spend on clients websites and when the time logging and viewing differs in direction its a bit of a cognitive dissonance :)

Time range per website would also be useful. eg. site A was 1st accessed at 9:30 and last at 12:45.

Awesome add-on.

There's room for improvement though.

Some settings would be nice. For example I'd like to be able to have the connections show at all times instead of when hovering.

I'd also like to disable the fading when hovering over an item.

Very great!!! a Must-have! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Wow! this is a very great addon!
You really should develope this addon, to add more features.

- resizing the window
- resizing the time-frames
- small clickable timeline
- more details
- overview of 1 domain
- searching
and much more possible for this must-have addon!!

This is a great addon. I think a couple of more features could make it better.
1. a blacklist filter to remove/clean unwanted stuff. like repeated instances of gmail pages. These dont make sense as these cant be recalled once u have seen and actioned a mail. so something to wipe/remove such traces of websites.
2. a list to like in ie tab or adblock plus that lets user define to what levels should multiple instances of a website should be stored. like last ten instances of this-site.com and 5 instances of pages from this.that.com
hope these will help clean up the history and make it a more usable thing than a thing of the past.

Great addon! Adding small 'delete from history' button would be great too! Right now i can only watch my history but I cant manage it at all.
Anyway thank you for this!
