Ant No Longer Downloading From ANY site Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Ant is no longer able to download anything from any site I could last week. This includes YouTube, FaceBook and many others. The main reason I like this extension is the simplicity of it. Without it working, have to have another.
Can you, please, contact us at http://support.ant.com/tickets/new, so we can look into your problem.
Please, provide the following details:
1. Ant.com version
2. Browser version
3. The exact links where you have a download problem.
It’s an Amazing Add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars
It’s not detecting you tube videos from past 3 days. Please fix this... :)
Won't download anymore Rated 1 out of 5 stars
For some reason, the add-on won't download videos anymore. It worked fine the day before I am writing this, but now no video will download. Even worse, the development version emits a download error message. Please fix this.

This thing should be put on high voltage marketing. This is just a great plugin
Great tool and great quality but Rated 5 out of 5 stars
It seems the max download size is 2,097 MB. I'm downloading a show which each episode is 1 hour and 16 minutes. Yet when I start the downloaded video it only plays up to around one hour and 8 minutes and then stops with a run time error.
Problems while downloading Youtube videos Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I have used Ant Video Downloader for a while and I found it very useful. But recently I face some problems in downloading YouTube videos.
There are three different responses when I want to download some vidoe from YouTube. For your reference, I use Windows 8 x64, Firefox 26.0, and Ant Video Downloader v.184.108.40.206
1.The download button available. After clicking it, firefox shows fails after running the progress bar from 0 to 100%. Just the same case in below comment by antviduser, there are two files in the saving directory. One is is a mp4 file with 0KB size while the other one is .mp4.part which could be play without any noticeable problems after rename the extension. Here is the link to one of the videos I face this problems: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loSbbj9s4Ug
Strangely, downloading the small size version of the video does not have problem while try for the medium size video generate the problem described above.
2. The download button is not available. After clicking it, it just suggest you may have to play the video blah blah blah: Example link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gRWXcyAfBI&fmt=18
3. Perfectly sucess
I once suspect may be some thing related to charset of the video title but I tried some other youtube videos with japanese, chinese, english subtitles, most of them just work perfectly.
Hope that this problems can be resolved quickly.
Rename .part files to make them work Rated 4 out of 5 stars
I'm using version 220.127.116.11 with Windows XP SP3 and Firefox 26.0. Lately, I try to download videos, and what I get are two files. The first is the video file itself with the usual name and extension; e.g., a file might be called BattlingTRexes.mp4. The downloaded video file invariably has 0 megabytes, and won't play. The other file will have the same name, but with a .part extension; e.g., BattlingTRexes.mp4.part. This ".part" file will have all the megabytes, but won't be playable with any video player. This is in addition to Firefox telling me the download Failed. Okay, here's the fix for any of you who have this same problem: After you download the video you want, only to get the Failed message and the two useless files:
1) Delete the video file with the standard extension, the one that has 0 megabytes.
2) Rename the .part file so that it has the standard video extension.
Thus, in my example above, you would first delete the file called BattlingTRexes.mp4. Once it's deleted, you would then rename the file BattlingTRexes.mp4.part to be called BattlingTRexes.mp4 (i.e., you simply delete the .part extension when you rename it). When you do this, the .part file will magically became a proper .mp4 file, perfectly playable! This should work with video files of any of the common extensions (.flv, .mpg, .mp4, .mov, etc.), and is a perfect workaround while the developers at Ant figure out what's causing the issue. Were it not for this bug (which I suspect is caused by the changes in Firefox 26.0), the Ant Video Downloader would get an unqualified 5-star rating from me.
Can you provide additional details?
Thank you for this handy feedback. We really appreciate it. Can you, please, help us with a few more details:
1. Does it happen with some specific videos? Can you provide links, so we can test?
2. Do you wait until the download has been completed to delete one file and rename the other one?
Thank you in advance.
Thank you in advance for provided details. We hope to solve the problem asap.

A few weeks ago I wrote a review claiming the pause feature was not working after an update. You fixed this and I appreciate it. That being said, this thing has other problems. When I try to Download certain video formats, mostly FLV file videos, they are kept as temporary PART files that cannot be accessed while the video is downloading. It used to be if I wanted say 60mb of a 100mb video, I could rename the file after 60 mb have downloaded and it would end the download, and I would have a 60 mb video. This is no longer an option, and these PART files are really screwy. Countless times I have downloaded, and finished FLV videos and when I come to access them they are no where to be found. GONE. For some reason they are deleting themselves or something. This is very frustrating. I wish that I could go back to the version you had months ago. It was flawless. It is as if you fixed something that wasn't broken. Please update the add on so that flv videos are no longer stored as PART files while they are being downloaded. And also try to fix the auto-deleting video problem I am having. I have requested before that a problem be fixed, and it was and I am very appreciative. I am hoping you will do this again. Thank You.
Your review is very appreciated. Can you, please, forward it at http://support.ant.com/anonymous_requests/new, so we can look into it.
Also, please, note that due to recently introduced Mozilla Firefox browser changes, our previous versions of Ant.com Downloader are no longer compatible with Mozilla Firefox version 26.

Ant Video Downloader was nearly perfect for me until last Update. I can download almost all Video Streams and that's great. But what has changed is the fact that before it was possible to watch the videos being downloaded while they're being downloaded. Now I have to wait until the download is done which reduces the value of this addon for me to the ground. I almost use it every day, for now I will swap between different (old) versions but they now lack the ability to pause downloads (which can be used to speed up downloads). Anyway great addon just fix this and it'll be perfect again!
TL;DR Please go back to one single download file without the .part file for instant watchability!
Thanks for the feedback!
Thank your for the feedback. Ant Downloader does not have a download manager of its own. A download manager has been modified a bit in a new version of Mozilla Firefox browser, however, you can still pause your downloads. To do this, just rightclick on your downloads being downloaded, and you will see a 'Pause' option.
However, it is not really clear what you mean by 'it was possible to watch the videos being downloaded while they're being downloaded'. Can you contact us at http://support.ant.com/anonymous_requests/new.

Could you add a way to download youtube 4k?
Thank you for such a great feedback. Can you, please, contact us at http://support.ant.com/anonymous_requests/new, so we can get more details and look into the youtube.com problem?
Good downloader except for error. Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Good downloader butAfter a bit of installing and uninstalling and disabling apps I have determined that this add-on is solely responsible for Firefox regularly having the "Firefox is already running but not responding" error that forces me to have to close the firefox.exe task from withing the task manager before I can launch Firefox an dthen, after a bit I get the error again. This error never happens when Ant Video Downloader is not installed. This review is for a previous version of the add-on (18.104.22.168).
Can you, please, contact Ant.com Support with this matter: http://support.ant.com/anonymous_requests/new. We will have to look into it.
Thank you in advance,

Can't install anything the link is not working, also it is in french.
great product though, just the link is not working at all. Does not seem i'll be downloading my videos tonight ...
Thanks for the feedback
You should be able to upgrade soon. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused.
Great software Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This is an awesome add-on and probably the one I use the most. I would just like to say thanks to the ANT team for developing and maintaing it!
There are other reviews mentioning features that would be good to have added or that don't work as a certain user wants it, also about how it stops working when Firefox gets upgraded. Sure this can be the case, but really its a great piece of kit and software pretty much always has new features that can be added or tinkered with, and when Firefox changes of course it will take time to adjust the software.
Desperately awaiting update for F26 Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Love the program and use it constantly - I really hope the update to get it working again is close at hand.
@Carol24D ... 22.214.171.124 came out Dec 2 and worked great with Firefox v25 until Dec 10 when v26 came out and it stopped working.... so it's only been 4 days so far.
Well, we are making our best to keep up with Firefox API changes.
You can already manually update to the last version :
For the automatic update, you'll have to wait for the Mozilla team's review.

Ugh. Constantly breaks with every firefox update. Is that *REALLY* the way to write computer code? Awful. Even the "new" update is non-working too. Is this thing EVER tested at all???? 126.96.36.199 is just as non-working as 188.8.131.52This review is for a previous version of the add-on (184.108.40.206).
Update in review
Sorry for the inconvenient, Firefox has changed part of its API in version 26, that broke our addon. We already patched it, the addon is in review.
Mozilla team makes a great effort to validate and review every new version of the addon to ensure safety and compatibility.
You can manually upgrad to the last version while waiting for the Mozilla team to accept it. I guess with this change, they have many new versions in review.

It’s hard to believe that this application exists and I don't have to pay for it.
Best application ever to me, very useful. I am the guy who keeps almost everything he likes on his hard disk. And I have a lot of stuff in there.
Ant downloader is the best add-on ever, and the one I use the most. Thank you guys...
PS please don't make us wait a lot for the new version, because it is not working on F 26.
I even unsuccessfully try to delete the mozilla's update to make Ant Downloader functional again.
5 stars without doubt...
