Invalid or Missing CSRF token Rated 1 out of 5 stars

While trying to login via gmail account, it results in "Invalid or Missing CSRF token". I use FF 48 and the latest todoist-plugin. Some Firefox versions before, all went fine, but now it is unusable. Please repair! Thank You!

Tip for people using custom settings for cookies Rated 4 out of 5 stars

If you have your Firefox prefs set to restrict third-party cookies, you'll need to add "https://todoist.com" to exceptions or it won't work. Just adding the domain without HTTPS etc in front of it isn't enough, despite what this support article suggests: https://support.todoist.com/hc/en-us/articles/208951085

It is finally working in Firefox 46.0.1 !!! Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Simply works in Firefox 46.0.1. Just upgraded Firefox, no additional steps.

Usefull addon Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Today I installed it and I find it awefull.

Don't bother with the add-on, just use a bookmark in a sidebar Rated 2 out of 5 stars

The add-on lost its one useful feature: the ability to dock the Todoist window on the left of all tabs. This is, apparently, a Mozilla issue. The same functionality can be retained by going to your bookmarks, finding your Todoist bookmark, and right-clicking for properties, then checking "Load this bookmark in the sidebar".

You don't need the Firefox add-on for this, so don't bother with it. I give it three stars for looking good, subtracting two for the lack of native docking, which renders it pretty but not functional. Then I'm subtracting another star simply because the paying, premium users had to determine this solution for themselves, despite Todoist knowing in advance that this was going to be an issue when they updated their add-on.

sidebar removed - the tool does not work for me anymore Rated 1 out of 5 stars

the sidebar was THE feature why i stuck to todoist. now i can't use it anymore with my current workflow i don't want to change.

i'll guess i'll move on since i do not see that todoist is developing in a direction i wanna work with. the todoist devs blame firefox for not supporting the sidebar in the new SDK. but even though a lot of costumers are complaining in their support forum, todoist does not seem willing to search for a work around or an other solution.

i don't know why i should pay people that give me lame excuses.

btw my comment to the rating of Edgar H.:
i don't think that the new pop up solution is very zen. the pop up covers half the screen, so parts of the website you're currently on are visible. enough to be a distraction and not enough that you could read anything usable on it. also you could close the sidebar anytime.

Dear Edgar H., who paid the working hours for your review?

Sidebar Removal Makes Todist Counterproductive Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Todoist has gone from a 5-star rating to a 1-star rating. The new version removed one of the key features of Todoist - the sidebar. Many users rely on the sidebar tool as a constant reminder of to-do list tasks. Without it, the ease and simplicity of use has decreased dramatically.

Negative feedback from many premium users in their forum has not generated action. Customers are basically told "thank you for your input" and please reload an old version if you want to use the sidebar. Staff has said they will not be bringing it back and has now resorted to sharing that it is a Firefox issue. A forward-thinking company would look for solutions that meet the needs of their clients. Focus on what CAN be done to bring back or revise the sidebar feature rather than on focusing on WHY it can't be done.

Please rise to the challenge and find a workable solution so that you retain your current customer base.

New Version rocks! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Sometimes new things give a shock in the first moment. I e.g. had problems with todoists new general design 1-2 months ago... but now, i am used to it.

But this Firefox-Addon ROCKS! I did not use the old version much, cause having an open sidebar while browsing was much to much distraction for me. "Multitasking on screen" sucks for me!

(I wanna focus my mind on one thing at a time. Zen-Like. "Out of Mind" is, why i use a todo-list in the first place. To get my mind FREE and EMPTY of all the stuff i would have to remember!).

BUT this new Todoist-Button just rocks, totally. one click, just looking "what do i have to do next", without leaving the browser. AWESOME.

I guess people should give it a try. Mostly those, who where not comfortable with the old version. Cause this new version is really totally fresh new way to use it. Cool !

Edit: Another User ( "eska") commented above about my commend here. He (or she) is even asking "Who paid the working hour for your review". Thats very strange.... - i myselve was a critic on Todoists new Win-Version 1-2 month ago.... and now with firefox i just could SEE: what one suffers can be the favour of others. Thats why i even registered here, to write a review contradicting to all this in my oppinion strange 1-star-ratings.

I am just a Customer of Todoist, nothing else. Have no connection. I myself "pay" for my time.... since more then 30 years ( i am above 50... - was computerprogrammer from beginning of 80s.... - and as such i tell you: it just shows your technical not-understanding, when you ask Todoist to make a "workaround" for sidebars, while Mozilla Firefox SDK is just not supporting that anymore (as it seems). This is like asking Firefox to appear in a Start-Menue of Windows 8, while Windows 8 had abbondend them !!

About the "Zen-Stile": if i click on Todoist, i just wanna look, what next todo. And then go on surfing (or end surfing and do some next-todo). Thats simple with me. I dont need a totolist beside the browser! What for ? Its distracting (for the browsing), nothing else !! People today even use "reading-modes" which turn off everything else and only what you READ is visible.

But IF you need that, why you dont setup just your DESKTOP e.g. with the todoist-windows-app on one side, and the rest of the window with the browser. EASY !!!!!

But okay, i understand, of course the sidebar could turned on & off ..... and yes, there IS a point in that. But i just did not like it, so what. Tastes are different. And if Firefox SDK is not anymore supporting it, its not the fault of Todoist. You should rate Firefox instead.

Sidebar removal EPIC FAIL Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Going from version 3.9.1 to 4.0, Todoist decided to remove the sidebar in Firefox. Many users use that feature on a daily basis. There was no warning, no input, and no explanation. Todoist has experienced serious backlash over this on their forum. Their solution to get the sidebar back, is to download the older 3.9.1 version. This is backwards, by definition. If they don't bring back the sidebar in a future version, as I said in the forums, Todist will lose MANY, MANY customers. Myself included.

You've ruined a great thing, Todoist. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I am a premium Todoist member, and sadly, with this new "rebranding" of everything without considering the implications, I'm certainly not going to be wasting my money on them in the future.

Todoist: you took something that was awesome and let your designers ruin it so you could "look cool" or something; shame on you.

The FF addon (until this newest version) was pretty much the #1 reason I enjoyed using Todoist. As mentioned in other reviews, I had mine docked to the left-hand side of my screen and could keep my to-do list in front of my at all times while browsing. This meant that I was able to browse as normal, but I also never forgot what was on my list. I was also constantly reminded while browsing that I could put certain things on hold and not get distracted from current goals.

With this feature gone, now having it in the browser is just as pointless as having it on the desktop. To-do lists are great when you remember they're there.

New verson not useful Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Argh... the new update to this now operates as a floating window over the page which is intrusive and annoying.

It used to sit as a column on the left hand side, meaning you could still do whatever you were doing in browser and have your To Do list up at the same time.

Uninstalling it now :( Fingers crossed it will be changed back.

Unusable at the moment... Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I'm surprised that the premium product developer seems to neglect this add-on.

The current version won't download nor install as it reports to be corrupted. Downloading the previous version will break your Firefox (the navigation bar loses all buttons and the Customize tab becomes empty).

Tons of comments published at the Todoist forums doesn't make the developer to correct this. I'm personally very disappointed as the Todoist premium user.

I'm here to say that the error mentioned in the previous comments corrected. No reason to panic, guys.

FAQ; GET ToDoist for FIREFOX (work-around for the old addon) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For everyone struggling with the outdated (+2 yr) "official" addon, I have 2 ways around this issue!

Here are the 2 ways, choose which option you prefer (#2 is my Favorite option):
1. Bookmarklet
- This option allows you to open a mini-Todoist pop-up menu wherever you are by simply clicking on a custom Bookmark

2. Custom Button Add-on
- This allows you to create a button for your toolbar (and assign a shortcut) to the bookmarklet option

To do #1,
1. Create a new bookmark. In the "Location" field paste the following:

javascript:%20(function()%20{%20var%20doc%20=%20top.document;%20if(top.js%20&&%20top.js.document)%20doc%20=%20top.js.document;%20var%20script%20=%20doc.createElement('script');%20doc.todoist_script%20=%20script;%20script.type%20=%20'text/javascript';%20script.src%20=%20'http://todoist.com/anywhere/getJavaScript';%20doc.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(script);%20})();%20void(0);

2. (OPTIONAL) For this bookmarklet to work on GMAIL, read Step #5 below. It may work on gmail however, without this step.

To do #2,
1. Install Custom Buttons, https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/custom-buttons/?src=dp-dl-oftenusedwith

2. Right click on your toolbar and select "Add new Button..."

3. Replace the text in the "code" window with the following,

loadURI ("javascript:%20(function()%20{%20var%20doc%20=%20top.document;%20if(top.js%20&&%20top.js.document)%20doc%20=%20top.js.document;%20var%20script%20=%20doc.createElement('script');%20doc.todoist_script%20=%20script;%20script.type%20=%20'text/javascript';%20script.src%20=%20'https://todoist.com/anywhere/getJavaScript';%20doc.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(script);%20})();%20void(0);");

4. Under the "button settings" tab, set your own shortcut and have it override the previous function. I use Ctrl+Shift+Y (you can use anything as long as it doesn't interfere with something important like ctrl+v or something)

5. (OPTIONAL) Like the bookmarklet, This new button will work on most web-pages but some (Most notably gmail) do not allow this code to run because Todoist hasn't updated their Bookmarklet code (the code we are pasting) to https security.
So, we need to disable a new security feature of firefox (it was added in FF version 35 iirc). NOTE: I don't know if this is recommended but I looked around and it seems like it's not a "huge" deal if you disable this security check. You can read about the error here, http://superuser.com/questions/586063/how-to-disable-csp-in-firefox-for-just-bookmarklets

> Do this at your OWN RISK: in the url bar, go to "about:config" (without quotations), and search "security.csp.enable"
> Toggle this option from True-> False

It took me a while to find this stuff out, but the app works like a charm now! It's really sad that ToDoist no longer supports FF. It is easily the most beautiful task manager out there, but if they don't go back to their roots some other app will come around and take this place *cough gtasks couch*

Installed it today. Works like a bookmark or history bar. Unobtrusive and on the side of the browser.
No installation issues and it is a natural place to work from. Thumbs up!
