Breaks Taskbar Preview Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Hi!,

I'm afraid this lovely add-on causes "Firefox's Taskbar Tab Preview". To show only the "active/selected" tab as preview for ALL tabs.

Example:
Lets say that we have 3 tabs open, "Google", "Bing", "Yahoo" where "Google" is the "active/selected" tab.
Using "Firefox's Taskbar Tab Preview" when hovering any other tab we'll only see the "Google" tab as preview, that being the "active/selected" one.

Disabling "Tile Tabs" restores normal functionality. I like "Tile Tabs" a lot, very useful indeed. But I also like "Firefox's Taskbar Tab Preview"

I hope you can fix this, other then that, keep up the good work.

This is a fantastically useful add-on, and so well implemented too! Very handy for any situation where I want to look at two pages side-by-side (which is why I looked for this in the first place).

Just one thing it would be nice to have is a way to change the arrangement of tiles within a layout, without having to remove and re-add tabs. At least, I can't find any way to do so.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (11.13).

Creating and saving several diferent layouts may be a solution ...

There are ways of assigning different tabs to existing tiles, and existing tiles can be resized, but currently there is no way to change the position of tiles within a layout.

However, you could easily create and save several different layouts (with or without saving the assigned tabs) and then swap between layouts very quickly using the Recent Layout command.

v11.12 is fine until Pale Moon v25.0.0.1 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Stops tabs working in browser after updating to v25.
Confirmed by several users under 'bug reports'.
Symptoms: Click on new tab, tab highlighted, page display unchanged.

Tile Tabs 11.13 will work with Pale Moon 25.

With Pale Moon, the "Disable F12 shortcut for Firefox Developer Tools" option will have no effect; and the following options will only have an effect if the Tab Groups 0.2 add-on is also installed:

- "Don't show Tab Group name in Properties popups"
- "Only show tabs in current Tab Group in tab lists"

outstanding work Rated 5 out of 5 stars

As others have noted, this is a fine piece of work. One thing... in order to conserve screen space I'm using newscrollbars addon to shrink the scrollbars down or to completely eliminate them. A minor ask, but I would like the tiles to have the option of having no border at all and hidden scrollbars to totally maximize my tiles. But like I said, the addon is a game changer for me as is. Great work.

Drag to assign Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This add-on has many features a lot would love, it just doesn't have the one I want : being able to drag and drop a tab to assign this tab to the tile I dropped it into.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (11.12).

How often would you use this proposed new shortcut?

You can use Shift+Click on a tab button shortcut to assign that tab to the currently active tile. If you want to assign a tab to a different tile, you have to select that tile first.

There are already drag-and-drop shortcuts to tile a tab (Shift+Drag tab button) and to copy a tab's URL (Ctrl+Drag tab button). Adding another drag-and-drop shortcut to assign a tab to a tile would not be too difficult, but would require a different modifier combination (Shift/Ctrl/Alt).

It would be interesting to know how often you use the existing shortcuts mentioned above - in comparison to how often you would use the proposed new shortcut. Please e-mail this information to: dw-dev@gmx.com

No Horizontal Scroll Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I love Tile Tabs, extremely useful, but I don't know why, I can't scroll horizontally in my tiled tabs anymore...Am I the only one with this bug?
Firefox 31
No about:Config changes
Tile Tabs last Version
My Theme isn't the issue
What could it be??

Please provide more information ....

Re-tested Tile Tabs 11.11 with Firefox 31 & 32 and horizontal scrolling works fine.

Why can't you scroll horizontally? Is it because the horizontal scroll bar is missing, or is it because of something else?

Which operating system are you using? Which other add-ons do you have installed? Do any of these add-ons do anything with scrolling?

Firefox Killer App Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been using this for more than a year, and consider it indispensable - to the extent that the fact that nothing really equivalent exists on other browsers is alone the reason to use FF. The developer is extremely responsive and unlike so many extensions, this one is active and tracking FF development.

The extension will do anything you could possibly want in a tile view; with this power comes complexity and a certain learning curve. I use probably 10% of the feature set but if you just want to run a set of tabs in a tiled layout I found it dead simple to use. Use one of the default layouts, load your pages, and go on your way, it saves everything between sessions.

No offense to some of the reviewers here, but if you can't figure out how to use this for basic tab layout, you probably don't need it.

Great add-on when up to date Rated 4 out of 5 stars

I love this add-on... it takes a little time to figure out, but once you do, it's great!

HOWEVER

Several of the features I use very frequently broke when I upgraded to Firefox 31. These include:
- Shift+Click+Drag to open link in new tab
- Right Click > Open Link in New Tab

It appears from a few other reviews that I'm not the only one to have experienced some breakages since FF31. I emailed their support email (dw-dev@gmx.com) last week, but have not yet heard back. I implore all current and prospective users of this add-on to email them as well, so that we can keep using all the great features!

Great app Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A time-saver, makes my days happier. Or at least it did until FF31 came around and broke it :( dragging links to the sides no longer works, not on FF31/Beta/Aurora. This was a killer feature that allowed me to browse the web and easily organize content I wanted to read at the same time, great tool for productivity and much more.

EDIT: Developer has fixed this (as stated below), this app is awesome m8 I r8 8/8 gr8 tech.

I've been using this extension happily for a few years, definitely one of the most important parts of my toolkit.

Unfortunately, lately I've encountered a bug where Tiletabs will interpret certain key combos as tile commands. E.g. CTRL + C, instead of copying what I have highlighted, will tile my current tab. Sometimes it's an F key instead of a CTRL combo, seems random.

The problem is fixed temporarily by reinstalling but within a week or so it occurs again. I have disabled all shortcut keys in the options but that doesn't make any difference.

I would give 5 stars easily if not for this issue.

EDIT: Updating my review to 5 stars as this issue has been fixed in the latest update. Thanks for the quick fix! Not sure what I would have done without it.
