When you change the max-version in the file install.rdf to 4.0.*, the extension works also with Firefox 4.0

works well Rated 4 out of 5 stars

very clever. using 3.5.8

but default icon is drab. why not allow a custom icon to be used?

I honestly do not see the point of this addon. Firefox already has a throbber and the url is already customizable in about@config (just filter "throbber")

Right click doesn't seem to work. Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This extension is great! However, when I tried to go into the Throbber Button Options and set right-clicking on the Throbber Button to open the Firefox Addons page, all I get when I right click on the Throbber Button is the standard Firefox Menu Bar context menu (Navigation Toolbar, Bookmarks Toolbar and Customize). The only reason I give four out of five stars is this problem.

3.0.7 Broke it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Broken. Last update to Firefox 3.0.7 caused Throbber Button to stop working :-(
Hopefully it is a simple fix because we love this add-on!

Works As Designed Rated 5 out of 5 stars

An add-on that makes using Firefox much more efficient and is easy to configure. Love it just the way it is.

The active and inactive buttons can be changed by editing the userChrome.css. (google it)

Your hard work is appreciated. Thank you!

This is an excellent add on!
My only complaint or suggestion is, could you please make a real button for this add on. That would make this incredible. Thanks

Happy follow-up note. Rated 5 out of 5 stars

LOVE this little guy!

With this one, seemingly innocuous add-on, I've suddenly got 4 super-quick and easy URLs that are always right at my hand.

Before seeing this add-on, it had never occurred to me to use something like the *throbber* for a button!

As for the appearance of the throbber, I don't want mine to change at all. It's part of a Theme that I like. I also get a kick out of having 4 buttons effectively hidden in the throbber!

Suggestions?

More of the same! Instead of having the middle button provide an alternative tab opening for the primary URL, I'd like to see the middle button open OTHER URLs.

That would give us 6 URLs in the throbber.

And why stop at using the Alt key? I'd be happy to see the Ctrl key used for more URLs. That'd get us up to 9 URLs in the throbber.

For me, I think that'd be as many as I could easily remember!

I liked the suggestion that you do a hidden buttons add-on for the Home button. I've always gotten rid of the Home button, but I'd get it out for sure if you made us an add-on for it.

Thanks a lot for a really useful (and fun) add-on.

Throbber Appearance Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I have not yet decided how I feel about this addon. I think it is going to be very useful, however what would be nice is a way to change the throbber's appearance.

An interface that asks you for a single image as the default throbber, and then asks for a sequence of images that can be used like frames in a film strip.

These "strips" could be edited, saved, deleted, and selected at a later time. This way I could put Foxkeh in the throbber for ANY theme.

Do the same with Home button? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hi, could you add similar functionality to the Home Button? After the modified Throbber Button, the Home Button looks boring - it can only respond to one type of click. How would it be if we could make the Home Button go to different URLs for different types of clicks?

Alternatively, the author of this extension could perhaps distribute us the CSS code (or whatever) so that we can paste it in Stylish and replicate it on other buttons, too.

Add CTRL-click feature Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Dear developer, Could you add CTRL-click functionality, please, for left + right clicks? Also, it would be helpful if one click opens multiple web-sites.

multiple tabs? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is great... I miss the old throbber and the ability to turn it into another quick bookmark, however this add-on doesn't have the ability to open multiple tabs - or if it does, it requires some notation I have not found.

The old throbber allowed for multiple web addresses to be separated by the pipe operator "|" and would then open all of those websites in as many tabs as necessary. You can still do this with your homepage, by the way.
