It should support setting HTTP method.

Pretty good but it would be nice to be able to only tamper data for specific sites. If I have more than one tab open and another site makes a request I am interrupted

I am not using it regularly, but it comes handy when you need it.

This program is great, but it is missing one of the most important features.

Where the heck is the ability to copy the url that is being called?

When you click tamper, the url is shown on the title of the window, but there is no way of copying it.

That's just useless. Please make sure to put the complete url, in a field where you can copy it, and of course you should be able to alter it as well.

Unfortunately, my browser crashes.
If I use the program.
Sometimes I can use it anyway.
Then the function is good.

Leider stürzt mein Browser ab.
Wenn ich das Programm benutze.
Manchmal kann ich es trotzdem nutze.
Dann sind die Funktion ist gut.

I couldn't get through a week without this tool. The ONLY thing missing from it is a permanent exclusion list, or for the filter box to prevent "tamper with request?" boxes.

It would be nice if I never again saw a tamper popup for, say, TwitterFox when it happens to update while I'm debugging something else.

Awesome Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This tool really is quite well done. In my opinion it's basically the swiss army knife of web-app penetration testing. I've used tamper for everything from actually testing vulnerabilities to reverse engineering forms that use javascript submissions.

Defiantly a recommended tool for anyone looking to mess with web-applications

This is one of my favorite add-ons!
I would like, though, to have a customizable hotkey to open the tamper data window.

Great add-on. I really love it. It helped me a lot.

Having links in some forms to be "Copy"ed would be nice.

Perfect for security testing/training Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's great to be able to just pop open Tamper Data and view/intercept/modify requests on the fly when testing web apps. (Instead of firing up Paros or WebScarab, which are great, but for quick/dirty tests, inconvenient.)

Tamper Data is also perfect for debugging web apps and web servers, and for teaching others about HTTP, cookies, and web based attacks.

Great Tool Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Good tool, however, it would be great if there was the ability to modify outgoing GET variables.

Almost perfect BUT huge security flaw Rated 2 out of 5 stars

I would have rated this MUCH higher, but there's one security flaw that I'm not thrilled with.

When your extension is running it is showing the referer header being observed in the GET requests, and I currently have those blocked with RefControl, but your extension ignores any other extension out there that blocks the referer header.

As far as Ricky28269's review about it locking up flash, that's actually a flash issue, and not related to your extension. If Linux users update to the latest flash player, it should resolve most of the freezing issues.

No

I'm not familiar with that extension, but either, TamperData is called before the other extension, meaning the headers haven't been removed yet, or the other extension doesn't really do what you expect. TamperData reports the data it gets from Firefox, it has no direct interaction with other extensions because in general, extensions don't work that way.

Categorizing this as a security flaw is misleading, and inaccurate.

handy as a developer complement to firebug Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This extension is great for figuring out what happens between page loads. I use it along with Firebug to interactively debug issues in real-time without having to redeploy the application in every case.
