Please Update for FF35+ !!! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is an essential add-on to my collection and needs updated asap please. A great add-on, but NO support since v1.06Pre9! Be nice to find add-ons that were either maintained regularly or Mozilla finds a way to automatically update add-ons for compatibility. I suppose that's easier said than done, but I hate chasing around replacement add-ons when a developer has one that's popular and doesn't support it. Please UPDATE ASAP!

I'm sorry but I don't plan on supporting Australis. If you can, please try the Pale Moon browser instead.

Hi BigThunder1,

Thank you for your feedback and support! It is greatly appreciated! Unfortunately, due to my real life priorities I do not have the time to devote to keeping up with all the changes in Australis. For a long time now my browser of choice has been Pale Moon (a well-maintained and saner fork of Firefox) and the add-on still works on the latest version of that browser (PM 25.2.1). Pale Moon retained compatibility at FF 24 (for better or worse, no Australis!) but still imports bug fixes and core features from mainline firefox. Newer add-ons (those that started development after Australis was released) may give you problems but some developers try to fork (or freeze) popular add-ons. If you can, I recommend you give Pale Moon a try. If you do, be sure to install the tab groups add-on listed below. All of this information has been updated on this add-on's main page. I'm sorry I can't be of more help at this time and I hope you find an adequate solution!

Hi rabab_2000,

Thank you also for your support but I'm sorry, I do not plan to provide Firefox Australis related updates. Please see my response to BigThunder1 for more information:

Nice, but lacks some features of other (similar) addons... Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Description says "Replaces the original Tab Utilities by ithinc", however, the addon: "Tab Utilities by ithinc" has been UPDATED more recently and more frequently than this one...??? and this one lacks the ability to RETART Tabs, among other useful features of the above-mentioned "Tab Utilities by ithinc". So I will continue using "Tab Utilities by ithinc", it's just better.

For all those complaining about no update for Australis, just get back to the original add-on (Tab utilities).
This one was started because of the lack of update to the original, as it was broken for several versions of firefox.
Now, the original creator went back and updated his add-on, so you should give a try, and thank stux for the updates he provided when it was necessary :)

No upgrade for australis ? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

hi !
this is the best addon to customize my firefox,
but in australis, no more work.
any chance to upgrade ?
thanks in advance !

Very good addon, but with a bug Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I have a lot of tabs open (several hundred) and sometimes when closing a tab a random unrelated tab a hundred tabs away gets selected instead of the tab immediatly to the left, as is specified by the settings. If I restore the tab and close it again, the correct tab immediatly to the left is selected. This didn't happen with non-Phoenix version. Please fix.

Terrific Addon, proposed bug fix Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank you STUX! I'm glad that ITHINC has joined in to contribute. It is the best VERTICAL TAB addon (except for the tree nodes that Tree Style Tab provides, but the two are not incompatioble).

There is a small bug in the behavior to open links in same tab/new foreground tab/new background tab:

1) The pref "extensions.tabutils.openLinkInTab" is exactly the opposite.
2) the three modes are mutually exclusive and should have radio-button behavior. Currently the statusbar buttons coexist and make it confusing for the user.

I hacked the code and prototyped a complete fix. It is fully functional but not intended for production. I can't find the developer's email to send it to him directly, so here is the xpi:

http://tinyurl.com/ozjnwgg

I added a toolbar button with a menupopup with the three radio menuitems and synced it with the status-bar buttons. That helps to not have three icons in the status bar when only one mode should be active at a time. It reduces the clutter. Also, the button can be placed anywhere not just the status bar. I hope the developers integrate it. No point in doing it as an overlay because of the buggy native behavior of that pref.

I coded it for my own use and I have no intentions to do a fork.

Thank you for wonderful addon that makes my life enjoyable.

TUP & Tree Style Tabs Rated 5 out of 5 stars

If TST is installed with Tab Utilities Phoenix not all closed tabs are removed from the sessionstored.js and reappear on restart and can't be deleted unless one or the other addon is disabled. Try Closing tabs from tree's last tab. This was done on a clean profile on win 8.1 Fx 25.01. addendum: solution: browser.tabs.animate changed to false eliminates the problem.

"Drag and go to open links" YES or NO? Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Thank You for reviving Tab Utils...

Will the "Drag and go to open links" Feature be available in the future?

I'm trying it on Nightly channel with Australis but the TabStack feature doesn't work... I switched the "extensions.tabutils.dragToStack" option to true but still nothing happens... please fix it!!!

Bug: It breaks the spelling dictionary functionality so it will keep adding any wrong word you check to the context menu unlimited times.

I've bee a long time user of the original great addon.
but it seems that it needs a lot of time and development to keep it up with that huge load of features.

Undo close tab button bug. Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Undo close tab button did not displayed and working correct when FF 25.0.1 working with opened popup windows.
Another bug - Undo close button did not display and reopen closed windows

Great little utility. Would have given it 5 stars except that (on FF25.0) when returning from another window, you may find that all the tabs are now concealed except for the one you just had open. You can still use Ctrl-Arrow to scroll through them but it would be nice to see them still spread out horizontally.

Congrats! Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Sorry for the comment "Can't unpin tabs". Tab Utilities had nothing to do with it. The extension is very, very, very good.
Sorry!

Indispensable add-on. Best implementation of vertical tabs in any browser / add-on I've found. Thank you for bringing it back from the brink.

That said, today's Firefox Nightly brings with it the new, much-maligned user interface known as Australis, and it breaks Tab Utilities, along with many other add-ons. Here are the two Firefox Nightly build threads from the day before and the day of Australis landing:

Hope it's not too hard to fix! But I think many of us will probably need additional add-ons to get our Firefoxes back to working the way we like.

Drag and drop no longer works for some time, which will be fixed? Without the addon is useless for me, unfortunately.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.6pre7.1-signed).

Brian M says it all. It was a black day when Tab Utilities stopped working with the upgrade to Firefox ?.0 and I'm overjoyed it's back on track.
