re:middle click works, but ctrl doesnt anymore

If you need help getting this to work, please use the mozillazine support forum at http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=633732 or use the contact form linked from http://www.shadetreeapiary.com/extension/ and include details, does the bookmark open but not keep the menu open or what exactly happens, do you have Ctrl-click configured, OS, etc.

It would be better if middle button replaced by a key from keyboard. I use a MS mouse and i have assigned middle button to magnify. I should restore to original settings MMB to work for Stay-Open Menu.

Re: middle button replacement

You can use Stay-Open Menu 1.4 with Ctrl-click instead of using the mouse. See details at homepage to enable: http://www.shadetreeapiary.com/extension/#config

re: Incompatibility report

I have confirmed and noted the incompatibility and will examine whether it can be resolved. Thanks.\r\n\r\nPlease report bugs/incompatibilities via the contact form linked from the homepage or the mozillazine forum, rather than in the reviews.

Thank you! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Another 'must-have'! Thank you for fixing Fx flaw - hard to believe any body would want menus to work the way they're in Fx w/out this great ext.!

Perfect Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This really prevents the hassles of having to continuously open bookmarks menus to open several bookmarks.
Thanks

Great Idea, Especially for Bookmarks Menus Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I have a lot of bookmarks, and finding them is difficult, so when I see them I open them. Having to re-open the menu is cumbersome, so this is the Perfect Addon!!
Thanks so much

Brilliant - Just what I wanted :) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I actually asked for this a feature for FF3!
Stay-Open Menu is *exactly* what I requested... I thought I couldn't be the only person who needed this!

Works great with Boox, Tab Mix Plus and Tree Style Tabs.

Thanks :)

Breaks Add Bookmark Here Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Older v1.0 is 5 stars. Breaks original ABH as well as ABH2. I downgraded immediately - ABH is a must-have!
Idea is great! Skip the upgrade.

re: Breaks Add Bookmark Here

A fix for this compatibility issue is planned for a future version of Stay-Open Menu. For now, yes, I recommend the older 1.0 version for those experiencing this conflict. Details at the homepage.

Kekofrekeko:

Unless you have an old mouse, the scrollwheel is also the middle-click button. If yours is not clickable, then you can either go out and buy a new mouse, or use ctrl+leftclick on links to open them in tabs. "ctrl" is a key that is usually found on the bottom left hand corner of a PC keyboard.

custom.firefox.lady:

I didn't realize how much I wanted an add-on like this until now. I kept getting annoyed with weaving my way through my Bookmarks to click on bookmarks in the same neighborhood, but then kept forgetting about the annoyance to get on with surfing. THANK YOU!!!

*happy happy clicking*

Beautiful! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Now I can open a rss live bookmark selection and then select another without having to "reopen" the menu again. Brilliant.

Only problem I had, if you use tabmix plus - make sure;

tab mix plus/events/tab opening/[ ] middle click opens items in current tab. (uncheck)

(tab mix plus ver. 0.3.7pre.080728)

re: pls help me

Most mice have a left button, a right button, and a clickable scroll wheel in the middle. Middle-clicking refers to clicking (pressing and releasing) that scroll wheel in the middle. Update: Problem with system-wide mouse setting - resolved via email.

very useful extension Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I've been using Stay-Open since it became available, and I've had no problems with it. It does exactly what its description says it does. :)

The author is very responsive to feedback. I reported a small bug (middle-clicking folders didn't work), and within a few days there was a new version with the fix.

I find it invaluable for picking out a few bookmarks to open without having to drill down through the menu each time. This is especially useful to me when I want to open several of the items in a live bookmark's feed.

For earlier versions of Firefox, I used the middleclicknocollapse extension, which gave some of the functionality Stay-Open does. Having gotten used to it, it would be very difficult for me to live without. And Stay-Open is quite an improvement over middleclicknocollapse -- Stay-Open also handles the history menu. So, thanks very much, custom.firefox.lady!

Disables middleclick "Open All In Tabs" Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I like the idea, and it is useful, but it disables the middleclick open all in tabs feature, which, as I store many sessions in folders on the toolbar, makes it unusable for me now. Hopefully, this can be amended,

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.8).

Re: Disables middleclick "Open All In Tabs"

Please try the recently released version 1.0 where you can middle-click the folder instead of the "Open All in Tabs" entry. Note the 'Known Issue' and 'Workaround' listed in the description of the new version.

This is perfect! I never thought some one capable of writing an add-on would also feel the need for this feature like I did. I'm glad I was wrong :-)

Ontopic: Works in FF3B4, nice add-on, think the FF default behavior is odd. If I wanna collapse the dropdown I can easily do it by clicking outside it, don't need no 'auto collapse help when only one tab is clicked to open' disfeature.
Offtopic: Just commenting to get this out of the experimental category. Pretty annoying that you have to log in to install. I don't know how to get a add-on out of experimental category, but maybe it is when a certain amount of comments has been made.
P.S. @Reem: for FF2 users there is http://remarqs.net/firefox/bumped.htm which has the same feature.

Re: perfect very easy

Thanks. However, ability to delete multiple bookmarks is native to Firefox 3 and is unrelated to this extension.

Great idea - but only for Firefox 3 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Which is a shame, as I would use it right away...

Re: Great idea - but only for Firefox 3

See my homepage (http://www.shadetreeapiary.com/extension/) for a link to a no longer updated extension by a different author that provided similar functionality for older versions of Firefox. Any questions, use the contact form linked there.
