This addon doesn't work with newer versions of firefox anymore. The extra status bar is loaded, but it remains empty. The url of links hovered is displayed in the now built-in pop-up at the bottom left.

This adds an additional status bar so the link data and progress bar can be on their own, and nothing else. This add-on does one thing and one thing only. Plain and simple.

It is not intended to allow adding anything else to it. The original status bar is for that.

How do you add to the new status bar? It just loads but no options. Using 3.6.7.
Please respond or update.

No option available

There is no option. The bar should be added automatically if the regular status bar is present (e.g. won't show on popups where the regular statusbar is hidden).

Use this add when using more addon to save statusbar place. And it can be perfect when adding a feature to control or organize statusbar.

Great extension... except it screws up my color scheme if I can't use the persona to color it, like the original statusbar.

Persona theming

Latest version (0.9.7) should fix that.

if only we could put some more status bar items (not just load meter) using 'organize status bar' . i know its possible (status-bar data() add-on uses that to put itself on second status bar

This is not the purpose of statusable

This is _not_ an extra statusbar where you can add stuff. This extension exists solely to make sure status text isn't truncated.

Very NIce Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very Nice Extension!

It works fine except in only one area.

The background of the bar is blank, unlike the Status Bar.

In your next version, please make it so it takes on the background of the Status Bar itself. My Status Bar is colored via Persona or AnyColor, whichever I decide to use, & it would look great if your Statusable Bar would conform. Fingers crossed & hoping.

BTW....For those that use CustomButtons2 you can make a toggle--to toggle it on & off--with this simple line of CODE:

goToggleToolbar('statusablebar','');

Window.Open Method Rated 5 out of 5 stars

When the Javascript Window.Open method has status=no, can we disable Statusable for just that particular window?

I see where someone said they turned off the normal status and used your instead. I would not want to run afoul with them. Is there a way to split hairs. Sometimes there is a particular window that needs the maximum real estate possible.

Thanks

Very good one, BUT-
It spoils icon alignment in main status bar, and isn't textured by AnyColor add-on

Nice one! What about making an option to right-align the icons?

Great One Rated 5 out of 5 stars

- Expect an update from the developer soon. Statusable is working for me in 3.5 (bumped max version #) -

Aside from the 800 icons in my status bar, I have the text size set to a large one and until I discovered Statusable, I could only see about 25 (if that) characters of URLs etc in the status bar. Being able to see full URLs and other info again in the status bar is great and actually a much safer way to browse the Internet. I can hover links to see where they lead instead of blindly clicking.

Thanks for developing this.

Love this statusbar Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I disabled my regular statusbar and use this one instead; no unwanted icons. I also think it looks better w/Personas. A clean, useful statusbar. Thanks.

This extension would be very handy and useful if only it was compatible with organize status bar and menu editor extensions. For me when it comes to make a decision about choosing statusable or the other two extension, statusable looses:(

Bars Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thank you. This one works for its purpose, which is a fairly good one. I use it with Organize Status Bar without any problem on Mandriva 2007.1 Spring Free in Firefox 2.0.0.13.

But here's the problem with the genre in general. It would be very cool to have one add-on that handles all the different bars at the same time. Items should be movable from one bar to the other, and the bars should be able to be set to auto-hide and pop-up on demand as desired, individually.

These ideas are the next step in the whole process of providing the needed usability.

In any case, thank you, and keep up the good work.

I liked the idea behind this extension. Often I can't see the full address when I hover over links.

But I disagree with the previous comment that the extension works well with Organize Status Bar. In fact it forces Organize to re-align status bar items to the left side of the "old" status bar. Moreover, you can't realign those items to the right, so you're stuck with a new configuration of your old status bar items.

Also, you can't choose which status bar to place on top/bottom of the other.

If you don't use Organize Status Bar, then you might not have any problems with this extension. But why aren't you using Organize?

Compatible to Organize Status Bar Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This extension works well with Organize Status Bar after all:
All you have to do to align any icon to the right is move it below the "paddingpanel" item in Organize Status Bar.
