its been a great add on.. but the warning message is confusing when you try to install. it say the add on is for older version of firefox when in fact it should be for newer version of firefox..

how to manually update Rated 5 out of 5 stars

For people who don't know how to manually update a add-on! here's how:
make sure you have something like 7zip or WinRAR for this. just something that can view files as archives!

open a different browser such as IE or Safari, Google Chrome etc..... and find any add on (encluding thhis one) from the FIREFOX add ons website.
once downloaded right click on it and select OPEN ARCHIVE or something along those lines and search for the .rdf file, now right click on the .rdf file and edit it. it should come up in notepad. now heres the tricky part: * search for "em:maxVersion>3.5.3

e.g. for Firefox 3.5 change the "3.0." to "3.5.3".
once thats done just exit the notepad and when promted click "ok" or somthing similar to update the file.

now open the ADD ONS window in Firefox and drag & drop the add on into the ADD ONS window in Firefox and as normal it will prompt you to install.

unfortuanetelly not compatible with current version of FF Rated 5 out of 5 stars

unfortunatelly this version of Sothink Web Video Downloader for Firefox 5.5 is not compatible with my firefox (version 3.52). Although it should be compatbile, according to description. When I try to install it anyhow, FF reports that this version is not compatible. Pleas update the addon for the current and prospective versions of FF. Thanks

all these ppl that are complaining about stolen code need to grow up. FlashGot has a terrible user interface. It is almost impossible to manage for newbies. Sothink may have used previous code used by FlashGot, but not the entire code. Sothink addon is 100% easier to use than FlashGot. So you haters can go suck an egg. I'm sticking with Sothink.

It's great! Blazing fast recognition of flash video content and instantly added to "download list". If you don't want it, you just remove it!

There are things that this won't capture. Still, this is the best flash video downloader available. It currently captures more than any other program.

Essential Plugin. This catches ALL web video something most other web captures cant do. It also has a simple interface. I only have two problems: 1) It saves most videos as "get_video", forcing you to manually rename the resulting duplicate files on the spot. If you download 30 plus videos a day Like I do this could get very frustrating. 2) All detected video available for download are clumped into one pile and its hard to determine sometimes which file belongs to the video you want. A miniwindow pops up as soon as a video is detected but nine times out of ten I wish to review the video first to see if It is worthy to keep. Eventually these little windows pile up and I end up turning off the feature. For these two reasons I only use this to complement downloadhelper that doesn't catch all video.
