Make an updatedversion for 3.6.8!!!!! Rated 1 out of 5 stars

I was just looking for something exactly like this and I find it, but I can't use it because I have FF version 3.6.8 There are too many add-on that this version of Firefox cannot use. . .that's sad.

I have still not given up on Firefox 2 solely because of Slogger, my all time favorite extension along with ScreenGrab and Attention Recorder.

There is a need to continuously and quietly record our browsing history (URLs, HTML and perhaps even screen grabs) to a local dated folder (outside of Firefox) with one index file per folder so that it can be backed up to DVDR for future reference.

If would be nice to see Scrapbook extended with history, screenshot and HTML only saves.

Great Update MMogri Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Thank you for the update mmogri, it is definitely working for FF3.

I was wondering how it would be possible to only save the links or urls of visited webpages, instead of downloading all the info including pics. That's too much crap on my computer. I notice some of .html's are saved by year, month, date etc., but is there any way to save them based on url name? It would be great if Slogger could save the information the same way it is saved on my browser's history.

THANKS!

Thank you mmogri for the updated version!!!

I have a question though, how can I get it to save only the urls or links of the websites visited, instead of downloading every single image+ into the data folder. That's way too much crap on my computer. I just want to save the links/urls on my harddrive, the same way the history is saved on my browser.

THANK YOU KINDLY!!!

Me Mine - I use Google Desktop. Search results include the slogger-saved versions of pages and, when they're available, links to the web pages. Works great!

mmogri, thank you for resurrecting this. Slogger was one of my favorite add-ons before I upgraded. I probably should have never upgraded. Thanks to both you and the original developer. A great add-on that up until now has not been equaled.

This addon is very customizable, but doesn't come with any given FF way of searching through the logs/saved-pages. This would be great, preferably from the FF searchBar (give a search Button/favicon with it). What is the purpose of a history-archive if you can't conveniently access it and search through it? Maybe I'm missing something -- any comments/advice are welcomed.

PS - I hope someone resusciatates this addon.

Great Addon (Firefox 3 version below) Rated 5 out of 5 stars

I updated the extension ... edited the install file to remove the version check error and fixed the code so that automatic page saves work (rather than just button click) ... the file is here:
http://www.stanford.edu/~mmogri/interests/coding/slogger_autofix_20081004.xpi

As for the review, I wouldn't have spent as much time as I did to fix the extension if I didn't think it was amazing and incredibly useful!! I hope someone (besides me) continues to update it!!

Abandoned? Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This was a very useful tool, but appears to be abandoned. Does anyone know of a replacement or updated version?

Nice Rated 4 out of 5 stars

A nice extension that's overdue. The same capability should have been part of Firefox from the start. Firefox can order by date and order visited, but doesn't preserve a true timestamp.

Suggested improvements:
* Set a preview pane for profile modifications. I suggest that it be written in javascript to get real-time updating.
* Create a sorting capability option within the log file. Yes, the entries are already sorted in time sequence, but sometimes the user wants to extract data in a slightly different way. And, this leads me to:
* Have a filter capability within the log file

These log file modifications are not within the normal scope of log files - I'm abusing the concept - but would be nice to have.

Good job!
