ONE OF THE BEST OF THE BEST, INDESPENSABLE, BRAVOS FOR SDC Rated 5 out of 5 stars

SDC is a powerful and essential add-on for users who greatly value their privacy and do not like sites to track them. User Tip: don't make the same mistake I made. If a user configures 'Firefox/Preferences/Privacy/Always use private browsing mode', the SDC icon will disappear and will not be available until the user disables '/Always use private browsing mode'. SDC is one of the best of the best Firefox add-ons.

My recommendation for other SDC users:
On the SDC home page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/self-destructing-cookies/, read the last paragraph about the SDC Hidden Setting in the section ABOUT THIS ADD-ON/FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS. The SDC Hidden Setting expands the effectiveness and capabilities of SDC immensely. I always have used the Hidden Setting during the entire 2-year period that I have been using SDC. The Hidden Setting function is EXCELLENT.

CONTENT OF LAST PARAGRAPH IN FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS --

Q: I have configured Firefox to block all cookies by default. Can I still use SDC?

A: There is an unsupported hidden setting that changes the behaviour of the "yellow" whitelist level from allow-for-session to allow-while-open. To enable it, create a boolean key in your about:config named "extensions.jid0-9XfBwUWnvPx4wWsfBWMCm4Jj69E@jetpack.defaultBlock" (without the quotes), set it to true and restart your browser. You can now use the "yellow" setting for sites whose cookies you would like to accept, but still have them self-destruct. I provide this on a "should work" basis, meaning that I depend on bug reports from you and don't do in-depth testing of this mode myself.

Platform: SDC 0.4.7.1-Signed, Firefox 39.0, Mac OS X 10.8.5

as much as i like this addons it blocks too much unknown cookies, please add a function to list recently blocked cookies so we can add those cookies as needed.

I play games on Kongregate.com and it uses third party cookies to keep track of things in the games. I cant see what is blocked so I cant add those to the whitelist.

thanks

essential addon for people that care about privacy

Needs to stop the constant allowance of Google cookies Rated 3 out of 5 stars

I cannot disable Youtube or Google cookies as this addon always enables them. I'd give it 5 stars if this is fixed.

I give 5 stars because it has served its function fully well.

There's 2 points towards future-proofing this addon though.

1) Still not yet at least shim-compatible with multiprocess Firefox, which will come in version 41.

2) SDC seems to fire a per-second timer which greatly interferes with Firefox's ability to maintain vsync as tested on www.vsynctester.com .

Excellent! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Makes cookie management very easy indeed.

Must-have add-on Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Hassle-free cookies management. The way it should be by default.

Вместо избавления от проблем, получил их Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Для начала дополнение всё удаляет, все сайты настроенные под себя сейчас искорёжены. Автоматом вернуть не получилось. Буду продолжать ковыряться. Знал бы, не связывался.

Very useful. One of my favorite cookie-managing tools.

A brilliant idea, but I found using it to be frustrating in practice.

Hopefully continued development will make it even better.

Google Cookies Rated 4 out of 5 stars

This is a must have addon!

My only issue is none of the multitude of Google cookies destruct. Even setting them to red, destruct "after you close its tab", bounces right back to green. Haven't been able to find a solution so that's why I've only given it 4 stars.

This is a brilliant add-on. A must for anyone who uses the internet.

Nice Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very nice tool.

Do not surf without it! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Brilliant. This add-on should be included as standard on all browsers! Consider the alternatives ... blocking all cookies – forget it. Setting permissions for every site – life's too short. Ignore the negative reviews (one star because Youtube is always green!). This is an important security add-on.

Good add on! Question... Google.com cookies get self destructed however I have them blocked with No Scrip and stay away from their search engines and avoid them as much as possible.

Why is this always green on Youtube?!

More effective than allowing only session cookies Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Why should you have to restart FF to eliminate unwanted cookies? This should be a standard feature of FF.

Great program, except it's been glitchy for the past couple weeks - clearing out cookies I wanted to keep, refusing to temporarily suspend operations, and getting websites confused. (The last one I found out when I moused over the icon to confirm the status of one of these websites that it kept clearing the cookies of, and it identified it as a different website.)
It started malfunctioning after a browser update, so I'm thinking that might be the problem.
Up to two weeks ago this add on was great, though, so once the bugs get fixed I'd say it's a very good add on to get.

Buggy as hell in FF nightly Rated 2 out of 5 stars

In Firefox nightly v41, the non-working option to temporary suspend operation, and the non respected grace period constantly breaks my online buying when redirecting to my banking site and it needs to rely on store site cookies, this addon immediately deletes the intermediate sites in the buying chain, resulting in broken bargains, and leaving the user with questions whether a bargain did succeed or not.
