Great but the icons got to go Rated 3 out of 5 stars

like Rez1dent, i dont like where the icons put, having two virtually the same inside a tiny searchbox is too distracting, think it should just be moved outside the searchbox, made into a seperate icon like "Site Searcher 2.0" does it (going by the screenshots) and as this is a better addon, letting you use any search engine youve got, holding out for a update to improve the ui, and have it deactived for now

Good Concept Rated 5 out of 5 stars

A really good concept of one of the most utilized themes(searching within a site). Though i wud request one feature addition from author. I usually use search bar only for searching within a site using this addon, so can some feature be incorporated that on pressing enter in search bar the current site is searched by default (currently we need to press searchsite icon).
Thanks

Feature already exists

This feature already exists in Search Site. You can press Ctrl+Enter in the search bar to search within a site.

**update** (of prior version review)

Success!! Update version 3.4 makes Search Site addon work again for me with Ffox v 24(beta)!! Excellent.

Highly recommended addon (and developer!)

Recovered swiftly from being bust in Firefox 23 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Yup. Now fixed. Rating adjusted accordingly. (I never do 5*, just in case something earth shattering comes along, so that's as good as it gets!)Especially good to see a developer responding so quickly to comments. You don't realise how important an add-on is until it breaks. Like others, I found that Site Search broke my search functionality in Firefox 23. (Took some time to work out which add-in had done that.) It didn't take the developer more than a day or two, and a couple of iterations, to fix it. No mean feat given the number of add-ins that it could have clashed with.

Fixed in Version 3.4

Version 3.4 fixes this problem, which was caused by incompatibilities between Search Site and Tab Mix Plus or Tab Utilities. This version works with Tab Mix Plus or Tab Utilities on all versions of Firefox (3.6 - 23.0).

Worked well in FF22, but in FF23 makes Search Bar unusable! Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Had to disable Search Site 3.2 when Firefox updated to 23, as it now prevents any searches from the Search Bar (nothing is clickable). Hope it gets fixed soon..!

(By the way, drop-down context menu searches are still possible, and the Address Bar could be used for searching instead - just that I prefer the Search Bar..)

Breaks FF 23.0 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Great addon but it breaks the FF 23 search box in the official release. Everything seems to work OK until you press "Enter" or left click the magnifying glass icon, then nothing happens. With this addon disabled the FF search box works fine

Makes site searching so easy! Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Regarding the situation described below by david smith, I could not reproduce this error. I installed the add-on in two separate instances of FF v22 portable, and it worked as described at all times.

I tend to use the site: modifier quite a bit when doing more serious research, and I love being able to use keyboard shortcuts to go to the search bar and then to use the site: feature. It seems to work with both google and DDG, and continues to work if you add other modifiers like inurl:

Thanks for a great plugin! ^^

I've always really liked this add-on, but I've been experimenting with new layouts of my browser and discovered that it doesn't seem to work with the omnibar, i.e. it only works if a separate seach bar is enabled.

Any chance of a fix for this?

Suggestion Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Please change or add the option for drag and drop not only into search bar but also in any position of page.
In this way is much more easy.
Thanks.

Paste and Go (or Search) not working with 'Search Ste' 3.1 Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Just found out the 'Paste and Go' (or Search)' is blocked (only paste) with latest 'Search Site' 3.1. No idea if it was with version 3.0, but it wasn't with version 2.1 which I've used since always ...

Great! and a pair of suggestions Rated 5 out of 5 stars

This functionality was lost to me together with googlebar, thanks to the author -- it is me again!

1. Since standard search opens results in a new tab, maybe it's better do the same in Search Site? I understand the diff between this actions, but interface inconsistency appearing may be confused.

2. Is it possible to intercept, say, Shift-Enter (when typing in the search bar) to execute the Search Site?

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (2.1).

More information please

1. When you say "standard search opens results in a new tab" are you referring to a standard search from the search bar? Surely, this normally presents the results in the same tab, not in a new tab? Please e-mail more information to the support e-mail address: dw-dev@gmx.com.

2. Good suggestion. Will aim to include this in the next version.

Great potential but needs work Rated 3 out of 5 stars

This could be a great popular addon because Google toolbar is no longer allowed on Firefox. I stopped using this though because it is too confusing to use. I can never remember which button to click. I can never remember what to click to get it to open in a new tab. So I end up never using it. I prefer simplicity. There needs to be an option to set it to always open the search results list in a new tab. From simple left clicks. The icon for site search needs to be more different. Maybe add "SS" to the button. For "Site Search".

great, but Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's really a great extension. But, maybe it can be greater.
I drag to select and copy a word or some words, the original selected words are automatically released. If I want to do some other operation with it, I have to drag and select again. Can you offer an option to keep the selection and I can use Esc to cancel the selection manually? thanks.
